LLawliet , your ping times are a bit high. With 1Mbps package, you should get similar to paqralos ping times, ie 10-20ms. But I don't think you will notice too much slow loading of local sites even with your ping times.

You can do the bandwidth / speedometer test at the TM website and check your results with the TM support to make sure your 1Mbps package is giving you expected results.

Just to quell any conspiracy theories here, we're in corporate line, and it's still slow as hell.

Who's the TM contact that one of the posters here said he got in contact with?
I'd like to speak with him too. Awaiting TM technician to come down our place now.

US sites are still badly effected, to various degree.

Seems like routing is still an issue now. Problem is how long they want to take to optimize their re-routing? doh.gif

eltaria , you need to call 1-300 88 9515 and insist you want to speak to a supervisor / team leader. Different people are on different shifts. There is no way to get to them directly. You may have better luck being a corporate user??

Weird... for the first after more than half a year it seem my torrent speed can go as far as 80kb/s for 1mb package... not to mention when i'm playing online i'm still lagging. If TMnut do fixed and rerouted the line already lets see if the speed constantly stay like the one i hav now.

but, i still had problem to browse certain website which usually load faster before the underwater cable problem...

Its been like how many weeks since our internet connection is lagging? I can't believe they can take this long to solve it.

Its so disappointing. Tmnet service...best I can give is 1 over a score of 10.

I wonder if TM will get into such a project.

TM will most likely not use FLAG for Europe links because it's a competitor network to them.
They are part of the SEA-ME-WE-4 consortium which is in direct competition with FLAG.
It's like taking their budget spending and paying it to their direct competitor.

But on the other hand another major carrier grade ISP in Malaysia is using FLAG as its Europe backbone. They are wise enough to make such strategic move and it'll get even better in 2 years time when the new FLAG NGN undersea cable is up and running.

This goes to show that TM is run by dumb idiots who are lousy and incompetent.

I feel sad for Malaysia when I heard the announcement that our HSBB project was awarded solely to TM alone to build and manage it.

Malaysians will never get to have a world class network when you have a company which will be monopolizing the whole HSBB network.

The current service interrruption in the Klang Valley is due to problems at TM BRAS/BBRAS (Broadband Remote Access Servers). This is causing the network issues at the moment. Supposedly thousands of customers are affected by this.

Lousy network maintenance management sound more like it.

It takes days for TM standard staffs compared to just 1-2 hours for our neighbours down south as well as the far east countries like HK, Taiwan and Japan for emergency recovery.

From my experience liaising with them, even when you send in an email at 3am in the morning, you'll get an instant direct reply within 1-2 hours their network admin.

Try sending a complain email to TM and count the number of days they take to reply you with a standard child written scripts.Useless bunch of idiots.

Would you want to allow them to handle our next generation HSBB network?

I have made a personnel of the Streamyx / Internet Complaints dept aware of this thread. I have also asked the manager / asst manager of the dept to be made aware of this thread.

Being aware is one thing, doing something about it is another doh.gif

They might just ignore this citing the connection is at '70% capacity' which is their minimum 'best of service' mark rclxub.gif

Well, that is true. But being aware is the first step. We can only hope.

Whoever from TM who is reading this now knows what users are complaining about. And users now know at least 2-3 people are aware of these complaints. Let us see whether you do the correct thing and highlight all these to the relevant depts for action to be taken.

And it is high time TM management does something to compensate users. A minimum of half month to a month of subscription fee should be refunded to users.

Added on January 8, 2009, 4:56 pmWell, finally TM has just updated its website announcement and removed the 20 Dec cable cut news which was never updated.

Compensation? laugh.gif You're kidding right?

That's too much to ask out of them really, just give me back a normal connection and I am happy enough doh.gif

Stop sending our data round and round the world to get to somewhere for god sake vmad.gif

I went through the entire ping packet loss, tracert routine with the 100 girl that answered my call.
I told her and two other 100 staffs specifically that US server connections are totally wacked.

She got talk with her supervisor also, and they did acknowledge that they're still recovering from the SeaMeWe 4 cabling fault.

I pressed her for more information, but she can't provide me anything.

No promise date of fixing it, no concrete plans of actions.
I really don't like being left in the dark, i think by now, streamyx should very well know what's their problems are.

I tracert, all RTO half way before reaching destination.

Their routing table is definitely out of wack... don't they have a remove dead servers after x retry command or something like that to automatically remove and replace a dead route node?

I believe all their problems is due to their routing table. Celcom users seems to be less effected by this problem.
