Congratulations to this thread for reaching its 50th page. Good job to most of us here who have contributed a lot of knowledge regarding suits and helping pushing better fits. Let's push it to the 100th page.

Oh, Lanatir. Allow me to commend you for the good choice in bespoke sportscoat: the fabric, paisley half-lining and all. Money well-spent, I guess.

Interesting & useful suit thread. And yes congrats on reaching 50 pages!! We do have many Malaysian gentlemen here who are trendy. Was just checking out the ready-to-wear suits recently. The ones which are quite stylish & reasonably priced can be found in Zara, G2000, Massimo Dutti & Topshop. Zara has got two types of materials priced differently: Polyester/cotton mix (RM429) or Wool blend (RM699).
Massimo Dutti has a very comfy Superwool blend (RM1499) but u'll have to purchase the suit & pants together at the fixed size. This I find is totally weird. I wanted a size 50 suit with a size 34 pants. But they said no. Size 50 suit comes with size 32 pants only. 
Topshop has got a wool/cotton mix light gray suit which is well-cut (slim fit). Price is RM523 for the suit.

I tested G2000 as well. Good price of RM699 inclusive of pants with free tie. But cant find my size for the pattern i want.
In the end bought the Zara one which I am very happy with.

they all look good on you in my opinion judging from these pictures but European size 50? you must be quite a big guy then?

by suit i think you mean just the jacket right? but undo the last button.. its like equivalent to a guy wearing a polo and buttoning right to the top..

The last button on the jacket (with more than one button) is not meant to be nor designed to be button even though it is functional. This has been an etiquette / rule in dressing up ever since the Edwardian era and this rule applies to waistcoats as well. I remember a forumer on another clothing forums likened the last button on a jacket to nipples on men: they are there but they serve no function and if they did have a function in the past, it has been lost through evolution.

I was in Damansara Perdana and I came across this tailor in THE PLACE (office suites), he seems to carry some nice material for shirts and prices quite reasonable and his work seems good(samples from others ) why not drop by and browse who knows you might like something

hmmm if you stretch your budget to about RM1500 then it would be possible.. otherwise you could try out other more affordable places and get them around RM800 =)

Hi, currently at The Curve, visited Binwani's and got a new quote.

I was offered Zegna cloth and Scabal's. The price for a Zegna come up to about 4k plus. Meanwhile, the Scabal is about RM550 per meter, therefore coming up to about RM2500 plus for a suit and pants only. According to the man in the shop, I need about 3.8m to 4.2m. I looked for Rashidi as recommended by someone a few pages back but he's off today.

What other cheaper options are there? Is there any cheaper range? I'm not sure what's good but least I know the Scabal mentioned above is wool. Not sure pure or mixed, didn't know about such thing.

Lets leave the vest out for now. Thanks for your advise! Apologies if my post is offensive to anyone. Yes, I haven't have much time to research and many thanks for the advise.
