ok let's keep it simple. when u speak to the tailor, just ask him these things
1) tell him ur budget 2) ask him if the cloth he is suggesting is pure wool (and not blended, poly, etc) 3) if he says it's pure wool, ask him what grade of wool is it (super 100 is a grade and not a brand of wool - please google for the definition of wool grades). the guys here are suggesting the minimum grade of super 100 which is a good balance between durability and 'fineness' of the wool 4) ask him to describe the details included in the price (horn buttons, working cuffs, full canvas would be nice to have) 5) the quality of the wool, the brand, the details are all at your discretion (depending on the flexibility of your budget) 6) ask him for the time needed (fitting, completion etc). tell him u need the suit latest by when

QUOTE(FusioneX @ Sep 9 2009, 03:04 PM) I like this. Great for a sportsjacket: it's also more curry stain resistant!

QUOTE(calvinloke @ Sep 9 2009, 05:41 PM) I wish. so I can have bespoke suits every month. i think if i had a cantonese grandad who was a tailor and i kept asking him for new suits every month, he'll scream at me, "Harng hoi lah! Lei mou chor teng ngor geh sarng yi, sei chai!" This post has been edited by lanatir: Sep 10 2009, 08:40 AM

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Sep 10 2009, 03:34 PM) Is it true that pure wool tear easily? I heard some rumor about Spark Manshop been bought over by Wardrobe? What exactly is this cause I cannot find anything on Google? pure wool which is superfine wool especially super 120 upwards is not very durable and is prone to tears and scratches.

QUOTE(calvinloke @ Sep 14 2009, 03:43 PM) I was waiting for the right time to use it. Half lined jacket means more work! The open seams at the back of the jacket would have to be covered with seam tape otherwise it will look nasty. Most tailors prefer to stitch the lining all the way around the jacket rather than doing a half-lining since that would require more shaping of the lining. my last jacket with bespoked is half lined cool enough to wear for most instances at night

QUOTE(calvinloke @ Sep 15 2009, 01:17 PM) After all, he looked absolutely fine lad! Look at his shoulders! and hair! His fits are perfect all along. It looks nice on him but I would prefer my pants to be not so tight to the point of getting cat's whiskers at the crotch. edit - nvm i saw the pics on SF. it's just the stance that enhanced the whiskers. QUOTE(FusioneX @ Sep 16 2009, 04:46 PM) Like it or not, we are all on the same boat, mate! I can't wait to see how his mohair db would turn out. Personally, I've been a fan of yfyf's 2x1 db. Guess I'll have to stuff myself fatter so that I will be able to rock a db nicely and then get a bespoke one (similar to yfyf's) for myself in the future. mohair? bespoke? i think calvin was talking about his desert boots pics uploaded.

QUOTE(netmatrix @ Sep 19 2009, 01:40 AM) Rain seems to have gained weight. That black doesn't hide it well unfortunately. The TI clothes seem to be from Fall Autumm line? The fabrics are heavy. i think it's more likely that he bulked up even more. the fella is such a disciplinarian when it comes to training his body. yes that TI looks like from autumn line.
