QUOTE
Ermazine is a terrible lining material.

It really doesn't make a jot of difference wrt 'breathability', and is so sheer that when it is folded on itself around the seams chances are the folding will 'show through' the single layer of ermazine.

It is also made in weights much lighter than silk or ermazine, and a lot more delicate too, but those are more neutral features I suppose.
Explain.

It's way thicker than haboutai. This is substantial stuff.

I think I prefer haboutai.

He probably lost count of his suits.

Added on February 17, 2010, 2:56 pmKotmj, do you know of any place online to buy silk thread for buttonholes besides HwaSeng? Gutermann seems like an excellent choice.

If you make a search for gutermann in ebay (or silk thread) you will find a few. I contemplated buying a spool myself, but did not find something unambiguously for buttonholes. Hey, if you find a suitable thread we can split the cost. Nobody needs a whole spool for a suit.

You must have a single suit in your closet. And the color is black. Right?

It's nice not to always be seen wearing the same suit.

Added on February 17, 2010, 7:10 pmHow about this?

Added on February 17, 2010, 8:19 pmI just checked and jeffreyd uses the Guetermann R753 silk for buttonholes. A 2-piece suit needs a small spool of 10m; this costs $2.95 here

Navy would be colour 665 I guess.

That's a very good price. Hey, don't forget we are commissioning a 3-piece suit. You sure that would be enough?

Look at that DB with golden buttons paired with cream trousers. Mine will be like that!

My Bangkok Tailored suit just arrived today...
since i only had one fitting session (spent too short of a time in BKK), the fitting of some parts are not satisfactory sad.gif
Sleeves too long, waist could be alittle more fitting, didnt get the peak lapels i requested for, buttons seems a little too high.
and the way one side rests over the other at the front seems "off". maybe cos its been bundled up during the delivery... i'll see hot that goes over time.
not too happy bout the buttons style on the sleeves too tongue.gif
well, its my first custom tailored suit since 7 years, so its still the best piece in my wardrobe now smile.gif
8500THB (approx RM850) for 2 piece suit.
well, at least i will know what to tell him to change if i ever do make another suit with him

You need to hang it for a day or two on a hanger for the creases to fall out.

Are your shoulders really that wide and you waist that small? Also, the sleeves seem to me very big, but the length is OK. The trousers need to be shortened by 2-3 inches.

Here's how I look in my charcoal suit.

OH Thanks for putting them pics up!!!!
yeah, my measurements are around there...
cos i do gym training so i managed to bulked up a little bit
i had to pull the sleeves out for it to show... otherwise, i think they would sink in naturally and not show...
i'll see what i can do with the pants.
Thanks for the input smile.gif

i had some shirts tailored from the same guy too, i'll get pics of those soon and post em up as well.

edit: oh yeah, the pic quality is so bad that i cant see the top pocket on the left chest -.-"

Oh, so you're a whey-guzzling bodybuilder. You can have the sleeves shortened without problems. I would also get them more tapered, that is, narrower as it gets nearer the cuffs. As it is the cuffs are too open.
