hey hi interested in getting me a pair of higher end denims, i almost got a pair of sevens but the material used didnt quite attract me =/
im currently using my levis 501s so would you mind suggesting a pair of denim around the price range of RM700-900?
Preferably with where i can get em =)
Thanks a heaps!!
*
Erm...don't waste your money on denim brand like 7FOM...This brand is just over hyped by the celebrity but their quality is below par when compare to their price.

What cutting that you prefer? Cutting like 501, straight leg? or do you want to try different cutting such as slim straight, skinny or boot cut?

Then, how about the denim weight? Light, 11 oz -13 oz? or something heavier, 16 oz -21oz?

With RM700-RM900 you can get a bunch of denim brand choice? Sugarcanes, The Flat Head, Evisu, Iron Heart, Skull and many more?

it is true, hedonkop and marsalee. April 77 has shut down. i got a first hand news from someone in Tokyo. kind a surprise to me as well.

http://fashionista.com/2010/04/aprill-77-w...e-it-shuttered/

http://www.denimology.com/2010/04/april_77_closes_down.php

i was in singapore for a weekend break away, went to denim store at mandarin gallery to hunt for a April 77. got a few pairs in front of the counter but nothing enticed me. was told no news on restock as well.

i ended up getting a Nudie Organic Dry Ecru. pics later. just touch down and darn exhausted.

oh, btw, if anyone is hunting for Uniqlo Star Wars, better hurry up as stock is running out fast! i went to tampines 1, 313@somerset  and ion orchard, can't even get myself a R2D2 white T in 's' size. no promise if there is any restock too sad.gif

other highlight: Fred Perry just brought in new collections. there is a limited quantity of Fred Perry World Cup 2010 in red/white. tried an 'xs', but kinda loose. ended up getting another slim fit twin tipped collar polo T.
*
That's a bad news for April 77 fans out there.

This is the premium selvedge jeans thread =/

The word premium is there, for a reason?

These aren't your regular Giordano or Lee's or CKs we're talking about here. And also not a place to flash your branded goods, which really doesn't mean a whole lot to selvedge lovers anyway.

Nudies cost around 150~299 Aussie here, depending on the stocks in individual shops. So I'd say, you could get a pair of Nudies for anything from RM 400 to 800 in Malaysia? Just a rough estimate.
*
Just to correct something... Lee also produce premium denim and one of the pioneer brand.

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Apr 12 2010, 05:48 PM)
Lol.. I believe this is indeed a premium denim thread the denim word is in bracket of the topic just that i believe lilfreak is in the wrong boat like what ahtiven stated

For nudies i dont really think the quality is there compared to APC.. Many people have complained about nudies about their jeans with holes and rips at the crotch areas.

ahtiven: That's why I dont post my jeans here =p but i'll show you guys my dior homme after i have break in to them! "as promised" hahaha!
Maybe you could go to honest forum or maybe Authentic Forum biggrin.gif LilFreak they would give honest opinions because i do go there for opinions =D just my 2 cents
*
yo bro... holes and rips at crotch areas (usually referred as crotch blow out) can happened to any denim even samurai or iron heart which known for durability. Imo, it's not depend solely on the denim quality/durability but it's also depend on how the user wear it. Some people wear their denim in normal manner like how common people run their daily activity, so crotch blow out will be rarely happened. But, there was people out there took their denim to another level. What I mean here is they wear it extremely such as skating, trekking, playing futsal, hiking, riding bicycle and others.. these type of activity put a lot of pressure on the crotch area which cause it to blow out.

If you spend your time a little bit reading on denim forum such as Superfuture.com, it's normal to see aged denim with a crotch blow out or crotch with repair patch.

yo hedon ofcourse i know, i just want you guys to better understand lilfreak more..

thanks but im a member of sufu and ive been reading.. my next raw denim would be from sugarcane OR maybe i would even go to japan for a custom made one(theres this cool thread on sufu where they have pics of custom made jeans) =D

im telling this from a 1st hand experience of a friend of mien who doesnt even wear denim everyday and is only an auditor who had this crotch blow out less then a year of wear..
*
see, you can't judge the quality of Nudies solely on that one. If you take out 10 of denim user who worn their Nudies like your friend and 3 or more of them experienced the same thing, maybe you can say it was cause by the quality. But your argument it's only based on one person.

btw, are you referring the custom made to Ooe Yokufuten brand?

hahaha....that's make me roll on the floor laugh.gif

my 1st assumption, maybe he has a big thigh/ass or even huge ball?

2nd, there is a lot hot girls in his office and make his ------- standing all the time. Even tough his work just need him too sit a lot, but that '"thing"" can put a lot of pressure on the jeans crotch are..you know what i mean!!

No offense bro...I'm just kidding here.

I think it's rare to find people wearing skull jeans in Malaysia.

How much you are willing to pay for it?

I had a pair of RLs. They are impossible to size is all.

They stretch like mad.
*
Good.......is it an RRL?
About the stretching, RRL is stretched a lot (same with A.P.C). For an example..if the tag size is 30 the actual waist measurement will be around 34-35 if I'm no mistaken. Damn

Your precious denim need more hard and tough rocking dude..let it feels the adventurous of extreme wear.
Don't pamper it too much..it'll be a waste for heavy denim.

QUOTE(Grimm @ Apr 17 2010, 10:39 AM)
So you can wear 21oz and above, in western countries, without it being boiling hot... AMAIRAITE?
*
The answer is obvious bro...heavy denim (19oz-24oz) is suitable with the cold weather. Even there are peoples wearing them as double layer (2 pair of denim)
