i heard a rumors that sammie gonna produce 40oz kevlar... haha bullet proof editon tongue.gif... JK
*
Really? That 40 oz will be the craziest pair ever in the entire denim history. This time I won't call it "ball fryer" anymore, but I'll give it a new nickname, "the ultimate ball burner furnace" or in short sentence "ball hell"... laugh.gif

Okay guys let sing it together... "It's a highway to hell" by AC DC

i am banging my head against the wall now for not listening to the gurus at the denim store. i should have gotten the 27/32 TF Nudie if not the 26/32. only rocking it for one week and it has already stretched out a lot.
*
pity for you..the best way when sizing on Nudies or A.P.C is to try the smallest size that you can wear and see if you can button up. even tough you feel snug in the waist, it's okay as long as you are able to button it.

Added on April 18, 2010, 12:35 ambtw, hedonkop, are you familiar with apc's cutting? i am torn between new cure and petit standard.
*
Actually, I'm not too familiar on those cutting and fyi, I've spend a lot of my time (during my semester break) on reading the official A.P.C thread at the styleforum.net but mostly people in there discussing on the New Standard. So my knowledge on New Cure & Petit Standard is very limited. I think it's worthy for you to check that thread since there are a lot of info (and some bollocks.. laugh.gif ) and it won't cost you anything except a glass of coffee (to hold your eyes shocking.gif ) and most of your free time... laugh.gif

gosh! that is like 355 pages and still counting!! oh well, gonna bite the bullet then......

don't be lazy dude!!!! rclxms.gif and my advice to you, don't ever start reading it from the first page..it's kind of boring....so I usually read it from the latest page... laugh.gif

As I remember, the most knowledgeable user on A.P.C denim is chronoaug. He has contributed a lot in that thread. So keep your eye on his post.. shocking.gif

thinking of copping a pair of flat head, either 3001 or 1001. 14.5oz or 16oz? is it going to be too hot wearing 16oz in our weather?
*
Wah....both denim are awesome.

3001 - zip-fly and old fh arc

1001 - button-fly and new fh arc

Just buy either one bro...don't worry about the weather even LayangLayang worn a pair of 21/23 oz..

The POP MEET POP (the brand name is gay...and I hate it) denim look okay for me (from the raw perspective)...but how their evolution would look?

Btw, not a fan of this type of yoke...looks horrible for me

after all the trouble/time spent to soak my flathead, i would say buy the one wash model instead, when you're buying japanese unsanforized denim..
*
why?

that's the best experience dealing with raw unsanforized denim

i think it's more like a trouble than good experience. especially when you're unsure with the size after soaking.. soak with warm water shrink it more, soak with cold water shrink less but it'll have second shrink (eg. flathead) later on and caused all the fade appears in the wrong place..
raw unsanforized denim required initial soak which made it the same as the one wash model, and you dont have to worry about the sizing at all. a lot japanese unsanforized denim only sell in one wash.
*
that's not a problem for me... just need a lot of research before buying certain denim... and i like to do that coz it give me more knowledge biggrin.gif

since we are in this topic.. the thing that i like with raw unsanforized denim is because we can try/experiment different things..rather than stay with the same taste.

thanks!
one more thing, what does DRY RED SELVAGE means?
*
dry = raw = unwashed denim. that means the denim is unwashed after the dying process..

selvedge is the edge of the fabric (damn it's too hard to explain it with words....hahaha)

user posted image <---------- this what's it called selvedge of a curtain fabric..

user posted image <------------ RED selvedge
