I see a lot of people are confused with what selvedge means...selvedge is a method of stitching and tailoring on jeans...not all selvedge jeans are raw jeans and not all raw jeans are selvedged....raw selvedge jeans fade...non raw selvedge jeans dont

Added on November 25, 2010, 1:07 amanyway...with the advice of the forumers here...i decided to hang my jeans inside out under the hot sun to get rid of the smell...and after a few hours under the sun...they still smell really bad...my parents are thinking that i'm mad =)....i really am considering dry cleaning now...

not raw jeans will fade la.... unless it have been hard-washed or processed to create fading effect on the jeans... such as SUGARCANE 1947 ONE WASH version...

I find some shops on rakuten ship for free to certain countries. Just recently bought a Momotaro Vintage 0701, shipping free to Australia...but risky if size not right, wanna exchange, refund will be abit hard. But so far, I have no complaints. The jeans just had its first hot wash.....loving it !!

All the best with the new purchase.

Mind to share which shop that you bought it from??

what i mean is selvedge denim is not very hard to get at cheap price..

the reason we go for higher end denim like Samurai, Iron Heart, Flat Head is due to the denim being used.. selvedge is just a method of sewing that required more work though only can be found in higher end denim..
*
selvedge is not a method of sewing la, it was the end part of a fabric (self-finished egde)..... if you're talking about method of sewing, I think it was chain stitching which usually found on premium denim...

Uniqlo sells raw selvedge jeans, the S002. RM250 a pop. It even has selvedge coin pockets.  nod.gif

Yeah... Uniqlo selvedge denim is cheap compare to other and it was made from Kaihara denim... One of the famous denim mill in japan... Levi's Japan was one of their customer...

Your waist is 31, and if you wear 34, you'll most probably end up with a nudie size 36.

You should be wearing W29"/L30" or W29"/L32" so as they expand it'll fit your natural waist just nice.

oic..is this can apply to all cutting?
*
QUOTE(malaya06 @ Jan 4 2011, 12:03 PM)
I think it only applies to tight fitting cutting.

As long as any jeans that contains around 2% elastane you should reduce the size -2 from your natural waist.

amidoingitrite atta and grimm?

Just to add more information, make sure the waist measurement is the actual (what I mean is you measured the waist yourself) not the waist measurement show on the tag.

For an example la, based on APC New Standard for man with a waist size 32.

If he want to size down 2, that mean he need to get an APC NS with an actual waist measurement of 30 inch. But the APC NS that have the 30 inch waist is not the W30 (on the tag) but the W28 (on the tag). Thus he need the W28 (tag size) with an actual waist measurement 30 inch.

I think this sizing down/up method is applied to any denim regardless any stretching and shrinking. But in reality the stretching and shrinking should be considered too. Both of stretching and shrinking play major role on the sizing.
