QUOTE(littlebeettle @ Feb 24 2010, 06:05 PM) guys, Which brand? Check through all the AD and see which one give the best discount, that's what I did. Good luck does anyone know where can i get certina watch at reasonable price. Asked one retailer in KLCC, only offering 10% discount. Guess swiss watch can bargain better % since the margin is higher. appreciate your inputs. Thanks |

QUOTE(khopl @ Feb 28 2010, 01:46 PM) - automatic movement (preferably swiss) - aviator style (something like Steinhart Nav-B Chrono series, altho chronograph is not compulsory) - with date (even better if comes with day and date) - 45mm and above (preferably in black PVD case) - good lume - leather strap - preferably with power reserve indicator - preferably with transparent case back Checked out Getat cos I kinda like the marina militare style, but most of them don't have date except Parnis (which seems to have everything!). I like this Steinhart model: Steinhart Nav-B Chrono 47mm But unfortunately it doesn't come with black PVD case, no power reserve indicator and no transparent case back. Another things is I noticed there are quite a lot of automatic watches using Unitas movement. Are Unitas swiss or asian made? Some site says swiss unitas...some says asian unitas. So i'm confused. Help anyone? Asian made Unitas is made in China by Hangzhou and Sea-Gull. http://horologycrazy.blogspot.com/2009/10/...h-movement.html Though both of China and Swiss made almost look identical, but the QC is really a huge issue on China made ones. Price wise, an undecorated Swiss Unitas 6497/6498 movement alone will cost ~USD230 while the China ones a lot cheaper. As partyn33 said earlier, any watch with Unitas movement that cost less than RM1k will most likely housed a Chinese machine Here are the comparison between Swiss and China Unitas, http://tamhk.com/mwf/index.php/topic,761.0.html Option for you? Try to look at Damasko, another high regards German watch manufacturer. QUOTE(ochinchoon @ Mar 1 2010, 05:18 PM) I would just like to ask if anyone here knows where to get the parts Bell & Ross Skeleton Auomatic Movement with SIlver Case and Bezel watch. I lost one of the 'threaded bars & screws/bolt' that screws together to hold the rubber strap to the watch. We don't talk replica watches here, sorry Or do you have idea where to get it repaired? I have been to few shops but they say they cant repair it. Anyone here knows where to repair replica watches? Thank You. |

Guys, come and guess what is the watch that worth HKD1Mil
![]() GEORGE TOWN (March 3, 2010): The MCA has denied reports that a watch presented to its president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat during a function here on Monday night was worth HK$1 million (RM440,000), and stressed that it only cost about RM6,000. Penang MCA Wanita chief Tan Cheng Liang said the misunderstanding arose when the watch, presented by the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship (FGBMF) during a dinner it had organised with the MCA, was alluded by the master of ceremony as being symbolically worth HK$1 million "as it carried as much love". "I feel very sad that the whole event we had organised, with its themes of community service and nation-building, was not reported, but the papers chose to zoom in on this false price-tag," she said when contacted today. Tan said she had called FGBMF for an explanation as soon as the reports came out about the purported HK$1 million value of the watch. She said the watch given to Ong had a biblical inscription on it, and the announcer had said it carried so much love and importance that if it were to be made in Switzerland it would be worth HK$1 million. "It was not even a branded watch," she said, adding that she herself received a watch, which she described as being "ordinary". "We are very upset," she added. "The presentation of the watches was not even in the programme, but was done in an impromptu manner." She stressed that both Ong and the organisers were caught unawares by the unwarranted media glare. "How can they twist this and sensationalise the whole issue?" she said. The watches were presented during the function which saw a gathering of 4,000 people from 200 churches in the north, at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA), in conjunction with Chinese New Year. Ong has said the watch he received was not a personal gift but was presented in the name of MCA. He said a watchmaker from Hongkong, who had provided the watch, had explained that he was touched by the MCA’s commitment in pursuing the Port Klang Free Zone debacle. -- theSun The source: http://www.thesundaily.com/article.cfm?id=43964 |

QUOTE(rebecks @ Mar 4 2010, 02:30 PM) the tissot visodate does look good...have been searching for a silver face with brown strap. have been looking at nomos, archimede and stowa but was more incline to the nomos design. unfortunately, theres no distributor for nomos in malaysia...the nearest would be in s'pore. will maybe pop in watch guild tomorrow to have a look at the archimede pilot & arcadia models. What time are you going there? Need prior appointment right? I'm interested in Archimede pihot H.fyi, the tissot visodate will be in m'sia in the 2nd half of the year...its rrp is rm1820 (source for swatch group m'sia). maybe should wait for it! Wow, RM1820 is a good price |

QUOTE(rebecks @ Mar 4 2010, 02:53 PM) not sure, i called the other day and they mentioned i can come anytime...most likely after lunch. would like to compare prices if we purchase online and if we buy at watch guild. The Archimede Pihot H they quoted is higher than online price, even after discount. But the good thing is you able to see and hold the watch in real before purchase.yup, rm1820 is a really good price (just hope that the guy i spoke to from swatch group doesnt get the prices wrong!). moreover, he mentioned that we can check with the watch shops for additional discount! |

QUOTE(r3kahsttub @ Mar 9 2010, 09:57 AM) Xetum Tyndall Watch Nice looking watch r3kahsttub, did you got it? The price is rather expensive though.Designed in California with Swiss-made automatic movements, Xetum takes a stance of offering high-quality watches that embody modern design sensibilities. A theme of minimalistic cases goes the current trend of large over-sized styles of recent times and ultimately maintains a clean demeanor. The Tyndall model seen here features a surgical stainless steel case, sapphire front crystal, Super-LumiNova markings and a leather/cork-backed strap http://www.xetum.com/product/tyndall-black-dial/ @ $1395usd Seiko Spacewalk is available now! ![]() First presented at Baselworld 2008, this remarkable watch was first used in October 2008 when the private space adventurer, Richard Garriott, took it into space on his mission to the International Space Station (ISS). It had been built expressly for his space flight and was designed to withstand the extreme temperatures, pressures and radiation conditions involved in an Extra-vehicular Activity (EVA), or spacewalk. It performed flawlessly throughout Richard’s 12-day flight in space. Subsequently, in December 2008, two Spring Drive Spacewalk watches were worn by a Russian cosmonaut throughout a 5-hour-38-minute EVA. During the EVA, both the time of day and chronograph functions worked perfectly, even when worn on the outside of the space suit. On their return to Earth, the watches were studied, assessed and tested at Seiko Epson’s facility, and their perfect performance during the EVA was independently verified. It had always been Richard Garriott’s aim that the watch would help generate awareness of, and interest in, the future potential of space exploration. For this reason, one of the two watches Richard had taken into space was sold at a much-publicized auction in New York in September 2009 for US$45,600, a remarkable premium over the reserve price. SEIKO ‘s proceeds were donated to the two charities that Richard supports: the Nature Conservancy and the Challenger Center for Space Science Education. Now a commemorative limited edition of this remarkable watch is available to the public. Just 100 pieces are being produced. The first ones were released in February 2010. This new watch has the exact same specifications as the watch which went into space with one adaptation: a screw-in crown is used. To ensure ease of manual winding, the crown on the original was not a screw-in; however, the perfect functioning of the watch, both inside and outside the ISS, revealed that the self-winding mechanism worked flawlessly in space, so a screw-in crown is now used in the commemorative edition to enhance the overall security of the case. The watch has a ballistic nylon strap. An additional elastic nylon strap, which is exactly the same as the one used in space, is included in the special presentation box. The serial number is engraved on the case back. Specifications: SEIKO Spring Drive Spacewalk, the Commemorative Edition Ref. SPS005J1 Case: High-intensity Titanium Diameter 53.0 mm (12-6h), 48.7 mm (3-9h) Thickness 15.2 mm Weight 92.5 g Glass: Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating Water resistance: 10 Bar Crown: Screw-in crown Band: Ballistic nylon strap with titanium buckle and velcro fastening with an additional elastic nylon strap Movement: Spring Drive Chronograph Caliber 5R86 Hour, minute and second hands with date calendar GMT hand Power reserve indicator 50 jewels Movement Diameter: 30.0 mm, Thickness: 7.6 mm 416 parts Power reserve: 72 hours with/without chronograph function in use Chronograph to 12 hours Approximate recommended retail price: US$28,000 http://www.seikowatches.com/press/2010/mar_rls1002-02.html |

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Mar 12 2010, 10:09 AM) found lots of Pam here.. A Qns to those Pammy fans, why ppl love Pam but don't give the same kinda love to Ferrari? Panerai has a rich history during WWII with Italian Navy, though they were lame and some labelled them 'Gucci Army' http://www.visiotime.com/ Ferrari might sound too 'automobile' for them? Though modern collection is produced by Panerai. |

Resale value? Get a Rolex Submariner, no brainer.
Rumour that Rolex gonna announce its new ceramic Submariner during Basel fair next week. Meaning the current Submariner would retired and might fetch a higher price in future. |
