Though both of China and Swiss made almost look identical, but the QC is really a huge issue on China made ones. Price wise, an undecorated Swiss Unitas 6497/6498 movement alone will cost ~USD230 while the China ones a lot cheaper.
As partyn33 said earlier, any watch with Unitas movement that cost less than RM1k will most likely housed a Chinese machine

GEORGE TOWN (March 3, 2010): The MCA has denied reports that a watch presented to its president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat during a function here on Monday night was worth HK$1 million (RM440,000), and stressed that it only cost about RM6,000.

Penang MCA Wanita chief Tan Cheng Liang said the misunderstanding arose when the watch, presented by the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship (FGBMF) during a dinner it had organised with the MCA, was alluded by the master of ceremony as being symbolically worth HK$1 million "as it carried as much love".

"I feel very sad that the whole event we had organised, with its themes of community service and nation-building, was not reported, but the papers chose to zoom in on this false price-tag," she said when contacted today.

Tan said she had called FGBMF for an explanation as soon as the reports came out about the purported HK$1 million value of the watch.

She said the watch given to Ong had a biblical inscription on it, and the announcer had said it carried so much love and importance that if it were to be made in Switzerland it would be worth HK$1 million.

"It was not even a branded watch," she said, adding that she herself received a watch, which she described as being "ordinary".

"We are very upset," she added. "The presentation of the watches was not even in the programme, but was done in an impromptu manner."

She stressed that both Ong and the organisers were caught unawares by the unwarranted media glare.

"How can they twist this and sensationalise the whole issue?" she said.

The watches were presented during the function which saw a gathering of 4,000 people from 200 churches in the north, at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA), in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

Ong has said the watch he received was not a personal gift but was presented in the name of MCA.

He said a watchmaker from Hongkong, who had provided the watch, had explained that he was touched by the MCA’s commitment in pursuing the Port Klang Free Zone debacle. -- theSun

First presented at Baselworld 2008, this remarkable watch was first used in October 2008 when the private space adventurer, Richard Garriott, took it into space on his mission to the International Space Station (ISS). It had been built expressly for his space flight and was designed to withstand the extreme temperatures, pressures and radiation conditions involved in an Extra-vehicular Activity (EVA), or spacewalk. For this reason, one of the two watches Richard had taken into space was sold at a much-publicized auction in New York in September 2009 for US$45,600, a remarkable premium over the reserve price. SEIKO ‘s proceeds were donated to the two charities that Richard supports: the Nature Conservancy and the Challenger Center for Space Science Education.

Now a commemorative limited edition of this remarkable watch is available to the public. Just 100 pieces are being produced. The first ones were released in February 2010. This new watch has the exact same specifications as the watch which went into space with one adaptation: a screw-in crown is used. To ensure ease of manual winding, the crown on the original was not a screw-in; however, the perfect functioning of the watch, both inside and outside the ISS, revealed that the self-winding mechanism worked flawlessly in space, so a screw-in crown is now used in the commemorative edition to enhance the overall security of the case. The watch has a ballistic nylon strap. An additional elastic nylon strap, which is exactly the same as the one used in space, is included in the special presentation box. The serial number is engraved on the case back.
