Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone here purchased from jomashop.com before?

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jomashop after placing an order for an item to be paid through PayPal.

The problem was my order was not shipped and had been pending for several days. Apparently, I was told by their customer service at Jomashop that I need to "verify" my PayPal account before they could ship my order. I don't know why do I need to verify my PayPal account as it is obviously active and I have been making several purchases/transactions without any glitches. Heck, I even made two other successful orders/payments through PayPal only yesterday and I didn't have to verify anything!!!

There had been several bad reviews on jomashop.com in the internet but still I place an order with them as I couldn't find a lower price anywhere else for the item I wanted. Jomashop's website may look legit and some of their items are pretty reasonably priced but I would NEVER EVER deal with jomashop.com again.

To those of you who has never tried Jomashop or are planning to make a purchase there...my advice is STAY CLEAR!! I would rather shop elsewhere even if I had to pay a little more!.

Sorry to hear your problem with them. Care to post the link for your purchase?
I think you should check with Paypal to find out the exact reason. rclxub.gif

well, have you verified your paypal yet?

paypal verification is a process where paypal will deduct funds from your debit/credit card. this is to verify your home address and you will be able to get these funds back (typically <$1usd from memory).

a lot of online stores/sellers do not ship to paypal accounts without a prior verified address, so if you have not performed this simple step, i believe the fault is actually on your end.

otherwise, if you have already done this; you can simply tell this store to cancel your order. in the case that they still proceed to take funds off paypal, lodge an issue on paypal and try for a chargeback on your credit card.

hope this helps.

I think khopl already done the verification process since he did some transactions in Paypal before.
khopl, please keep us updated.

hie guys just came back from browsing watches.
Saw Zenith selling at rn31680 "faint" for a slighty better looking display set.

N my dream watch Tag 2010 model Day date with stainless steal at 13560 and 2009 day date leather strap at 13320. Cant find Calibre 36 though...

I even saw the IWC....guess what price wise...is Horrible~ "too exp" n some i dont even know how to pronounce the watches which cost more~

Yes i do love Tag very much, guess the first impression, i fall for the design secondly is smart when wearing. Lastly i hate is the "price" smile.gif

I mean u guys may better better knowledge in choosing watches, can share with me what is so special with calibre 16 VS calibre 32?

Y is Calibre 16 day is much cheaper than Calibre 16 day date? The price diff around rm2k for an extra "day" display. technology?
*
Since you like Tag, do read up the calibre 11 blog thumbup.gif

one of my pet peeves about tag is that not many of their designs are classic. you buy a watch today, and chances are, 5 years down the road, they look visibly retro. very few of them are timeless.

having said that, i think tags from 5-8 years back were the best (in terms of design).
*
Very few of them. One of the Tag I like is Steve McQueen's Monaco, sure is a timelss design.

i heard that Ball movements are ETA too. Now i'm torn between Ball Aviator and Tag Aquaracer Calibre 5. Any recommendation?

btw, where do you guys normally get replica? online?

how about original from local shops ? any recommendation that shops with fair price?
*
Yes Ball is using ETA too, build quality is better than Tag, IMHO.
No replica talk here tongue.gif
Usually I'll shop around and see which AD would give me a better discount tongue.gif
Good luck thumbup.gif

was looking through some watches last night - checked the price of the new omegas out. asked how much discount, and the salesperson told me 15% with receipt, and 20% without receipt (but with warranty, etc).

anyone happen to know the reasoning behind this?
*
AD don't want to get caught as the discount is controlled sweat.gif

Omega speedmaster, NASA requirement.
Acrylic crystal still easy to polish off.
mineral crystal not easy man.. it cost more $$ to replace too
*
Absolutely correct. Sapphire will break into tiny fragments when hit, that will endanger the astronauts in spaceship. Whereas hesalite or acrylic will only crack.

Normal toothpaste can use to polish the tiny scratches on hesalite/acrylic. Yes, that's true thumbup.gif

Mind tell me the procedure of using toothpaste to clean it?? Or just squeeze the paste and use a cloth to wipe it ? My Speedmaster has gone thru sometimes with me so there's loads of scratches biggrin.gif
*
Ya just squeeze little amount of toothpaste and use a clean smooth cloth slowly wipe in circular motion. That's what I did rclxms.gif

Hey ck77 just wondering how is your watch doing? Did you managed to get it fixed since it was running unacceptably fast as you mentioned when it first arrived?

Did you also managed to confirm if the movement (6497 or 6498) is the correct one as you ordered?

I saw a 45mm at getat that I quite like but I'm now having some doubts after your experience with them...what do you think?  hmm.gif
*
Watch is running fine after some 'treatment' by my friend's watchmaker. I've contacted Getat and he have refunded me some cost thumbup.gif

The movement is indeed a standard 6497 (Asian made), with swan neck regulator, but am not sure it is working or not tongue.gif

I read a lot of positive feedback from other forums and am sure my case is an isolated one. And Getat has done the right thing to refund me. So my verdict of Getat is still ok smile.gif

The watch actually looks good in an utilitarian kind of way. It is highly unusual for watches to be this inaccurate -- something must have happened to it between production and it reaching you. Magnetization is highly probable.
*
Ya man, below is the comments by the watchmaker:

"Found your watch problem last night, the hair spring is chucked up after putting aside for long time maybe, so shorter portion is springing. I've removed the whole balance part and wash it with WD40 and now your watch is runnig fine within 10 second after 15 hours! So it should be ok now for wearing"

What's the size of the dial?
