i LOL'd at this one, a typical chinese fake tourbillon.
They don't even make an attempt to fake it! its just a usual open heart showing the escapement.

how about a china movement? this is a parnis (automatic with a power reserve indicator at 6)..
not as accurate as my victorinox or my other quartz. just received it today though..
sorry about the fuzziness of the pics.. (the second pic was probably focused on my hand instead  doh.gif *lol*)
My fren own a similar watch, after about 3mth+ its losing alot more time! like 1-2mins every few hours when worn, off the wrist it perform a little better. lucky he paid US$50 for it. not really worth it.

yes, accuracies are on the poorer side.. that goes for my 7s36a too. i'm now setting the watch down and see how far off it goes at the next morning. maybe the best mechanical movement is still the 7750? (but it's very expensive to have a valjoux.. i'm thinking of the asian 7750. see how  smile.gif )

yes, these pieces are inexpensive (but not pasar malam/lelong cheap). build quality wise, i'd say it's above average. i've got another fren here who's waiting for his parnis unit..
how old is your 7s36a? on a Seiko or Seiko 5?
hmm... 77XX series maybe 1 of the best design Chrono Mech.
ETA 289X series maybe 1 of the best date/day mech used by many brands.

not tried any Asian 7750, QC not good, no regulated well etc.. even a Rolex can sucks.
anyway, perhaps a asian 6497 with swan neck is a safer bet on such watches.

I think Parnis and Marina Militare come from same source.

this seller is darn active on ebay then watchuseek, after ebay ban all the Panerai clones. Got this link from fren showing whats on sale.
not posting his email here not promoting clone, not even sure if seller is still active.
http://s525.photobucket.com/albums/cc336/r...rina%20Watches/

ppl selling Parnis are still so active! at US$100.. save more $$ ( http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=2439 ) can get IWI ( http://www.internationalwatchman.com ) for swiss parts.

those richer can get a debaufre better build, signed up the mailing list at times they do offer scratch and dent deals at 50% off.
most ppl that got on those deals report on damage on watch, many wonder where are the scratch and dent.. LOL

it's a seiko 5 and it's more than 3 years now (my 1st auto watch then)..

any good recommend on an affordable valjoux 7750? i know victorinox and tag heuer has one.. (i'm not someone who's going to spend a 5-figure on a watch, ya)

actually the asian 7750 has a few renditions.. earlier versions were terrible, but the later ones show promising results.
here's a good read about asian 7750 (it's not about replica watches, although it's hosted/writen at that site)
I wonder those Asian 7750 are from which factory.. Hangzhou or Seagull or some unknown factory. Difference source, different quality.
getting something Asian.. I think hard to gurantee anything.

the most affordable Val 7750 I guess is the Hamiltion watch I am wearing!
paid around RM$1800 for it then. Today maybe need to spend RM$2000 on grey market.

regarding your seiko, maybe time to get it clean and regulated esp its around 4yrs.

i think at the beginning stage.. all name/no-name factories will try to produce them (some even at cottage/home-based level too).. until perhaps things stabilizes and more established name emerges (imho, seagull and hangzhou have potentials to be established movt makers).. i guess it also depends on eventually how many external vendors use their movements in their brand as well.. will probably give miyota a run for their money as well.

thanks for the hamilton suggestion.. a quick check at ebay, i picked this up; a 7750 hamilton with a day/date (this is the ideal type of combo that i'd like to get someday)..  neat dials, easy to read.. a tritium would be a bonus *lol* it's bidding for usd$355, used..

for me, a 7750 would be for keep.. and perhaps to pass on as legacy.. i doubt the effectiveness of a quartz going further than 50 years..
*
i though miyota supply plenty of quartz.. not much of mech.
china "begining" stage will last how many yrs to weed out the competitors?
from what i read, even establish brands like seagull produce a good number of Lemons.
of course u do find Lemons here and there with swiss brands as well. good service can exchange will be just fine for me.
guess it boils down where u buy your watch.

aren't 7750 movement day/date.. hmm.. guess they can removement parts to fit into their design like the eariler Panerai.

not many watches have tritium lah.. pay more for a Ball watch!
or get your local watchmaker to Mod it!

don't get what custom made from ebay lah.. wanna high end 7750 might as well get from Guinand (Helmun Sinn, yeh the person who created the famous Sinn).
http://www.guinand-watch.com/index.php?opt...&id=153&Itemid=

u gotto check out this review here, great pics!
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=158528
QUOTE
None of the Sinns has the gold-plated movement, which is fairly unique amongst 7750s in general. Guinand in Switzerland provides top-notch 7750s to a number of the higher-end manufacturers with this post-processing of the movement. With the Sinn you get the rhodium-plated movements, TOP as well.

In terms of price/performance, the Guinand is hard to beat: they sell their elaboreé movements, which lack the perlage and other niceties, for all of &*8364;660. That is one hard price to beat, especially for the bicompax watches they offer. They are also committed to keeping prices down by not advertising, and that's nice for us consumers

i would be surprise myself too if i've not read around on miyota.. they do make mechanical and even put into some well established names like invictar too. here's a write up on miyota mech movt. http://www.17jewel.com/two.html

i guess it's fair to say that quality comes with cost.. perhaps only when china improves on it's payroll.. then we'll be able to see improvement in quality (taiwan or japan also started out liddat wat.. kolek or not?)

oh, not all valjoux 7750 shows day/date.. here's one of my other favorite valjoux 7750 (it's a swiss army f-18) as you can see it only shows date(no day).. a bit potong stim lo (otherwise, the blue dial looks stunning!)

i think you've grossly misunderstood what i've said.. i never asked for a high-end watches (i asked for affordable, remember?) so don't have to go 'high-end' attitude with me here.. take for example, ball (there're cheaper alternative to a tritium h3 watches.. such as traser, for example)
I wouldn't go that far to say Invicta is establish name.

quality do come with a cost, "Good things not Cheap, Cheap things not good".
taiwan? unlike japan loh... mix bucket.

i think U misunderstood my post. most 7750 do show day/date. IIRC the day wheel is there on the movement, manufacturers can choose to remove it. like eariler Panerai, use 775X family and remove all the chrono feature and day/date wheel!
ppl can choose to mod any base movement they want.

where to find cheap Tritium + 7750 besides Ball? Traser definate NO-NO.

if U can read chinese this is a nice read.

I guess its 1.30am late and can't think straight.

must be the Tritium and 775X that cause the problem.
the defination of affordable is not clearly define here. when U mentioned NOT anything under 5 digit? I take RM$9999 and lower are considered afforable. My bad if I jump the gun. Don't have to snap in a heart beat.

i want to buy a watch that can last me for over 10 years, suitable for purpose, leather is possible, under 7k, i'm tall, fit, dark skin, 21 years old. what do u guys recommend?
*
1st watch: WAV5152.FC6231 retail is at US$5900 or RM$20.7K, after the usual 20%, no way can buy at rm$7K
2nd watch: CV2A10.BA0796 retail at US$3700 or RM$13K, also not possible
3rd watch: CV2010.BA0786 retail at US$3200 or RM$11200, now getting warmer but still a little off.
4th watch: CAV515B.FC6231 I am sure not possible! est close to US$20K!!

If I am not wrong Tag Calibre 16 is base off 7750. kinda expensive. rather pay for a inhouse movement.

with this budget I would get a a chrono from grey market for the best deal. Mech watches if U do service them every 4-5yrs, they can last a lifetime!
(some Perrelet are inhouse movement these most likely heavily mod ETA or uising Soprod since they have bought this movement company, check out those blue screws too!)

I don't think so. Gucci group is pretty big like LVMH, wouldn't scoop so low.
unlike Fossils movement maybe Japan/Swiss.
Gucci watches either ETA or Ronda. Thank God Gucci watches not priced like a Lexus many watches just under US$1K, so driving toyota no problem. when U say Lexus I think of watches priced above US$10K. sweat.gif
