Based on their initial offer, yes, they will allow. However, at this point in time it is frozen until further notice insofar as outright purchases are concerned. |

But we still advocate buying officially unlocked sets as locked sets which are unlocked un-officially are more susceptible to problems.if i buy this unit, any problem of using it ? |

The difference between software unlock and official unlock are like night and day. With software unlock, you have to be always vigilant in baseband version, iPhone OS updates and so on while official unlock phone don't have to worry about those things.
If you have the choice, go for officially unlock phones. @hilk US phones will always be locked by nature. If your friend said it's unlock, it's using software unlock and not officially unlock. |

@hilk,
As mentioned by the other forummers, the US units aren't officially unlocked units hence you might want to reconsider the purchase. |

But to be sure and you must be as you are paying quite a sum for the iPhone, you have to do what is necessary to establish the fact. If not allowed, just turn away from the purchase lest you regret later. That would be my advice. |

@alvinchan
Where do you hear that heat issue is a common problem for iPhone and cause discoloration on the back cover? It's known back then that the "so called" discoloration from heat is actually a color transfer from the case thats the users are using. If i were the seller, I would not let you peel off the IS too. What if you pull it off and decide not to buy? This post has been edited by frozzbyte: Nov 20 2009, 05:32 PM |

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Nov 20 2009, 05:14 PM) @alvinchan Whilst I do not disagree with you, as a seller, if you do not allow the point to be proven, you stand a chance of losing the sale which is exactly what happened. It is therefore the seller's call and the buyer's decision to buy or not.Where do you here that heat issue is a common problem for iPhone and cause discoloration on the back cover? QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Nov 20 2009, 05:32 PM) Yeah, I was just expounding the point. To extenuate, perhaps the seller could come to an agreement with the buyer that after peeling off the IS, if the 'stain' is not on the phone, he has to buy the unit. If I were the seller and unwilling to take a chance, like you, that is what I would do. |

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Nov 20 2009, 05:14 PM) @alvinchan I am willing to accept ur point. but it can be some points that the seller could install IS after the color was changed. If seller allow to peel off the IS and the phone cover has nothing problem, its buyer's fault. there should be agreement btw buyer and seller before peel off . I just explain to u that some buyers should know this problem coz this is not the small amount to buy iphone. thanks. |

Frozzbyte is reiterating the findings of Apple which I have actually posted in this forum earlier that stains are not caused by overheating but casings that owners use. In any event, what I posted is fair and you stepping away from the purchase is correct since the seller did not take the initiative to do more to conclude the sale.If seller allow to peel off the IS and the phone cover has nothing problem, its buyer's fault. there should be agreement btw buyer and seller before peel off .
