however you have to remember that for majority of the working class population, they are using some sort of "company mobile phone/line" and therefore switching over to another network may not be feasible.

companies typically get special corporate rates and they may not rival maxis' iPhone packages and implying that they are not financially sensible.

I concurred with that as i too bought an outright iphone 3gs and used my celcom 3g staff price broadband RM50 per month unlimited!!!! Nothing can beat that hihi

Oh yeah, my posting refer to Maxis user.

And if you can get the factory unlocked like from Maxis or Australia, then using it on other carrier is a clinch!

As for the data plan, I guess you can get away with no data plan provided you know what you doing.

not that i'm siding fellow member PeeEl or being disrespectful to you.

any tom, d*** and harry, dude down the street could have figured that out.

Thanks Nok.

To a certain extent, we have reversed roles. You being kinder in your words and I should exercise more patience. Having said that, there are more and more 'contributors' to this forum which for want of a better phrase should know better than to come out with 'gems' best kept to themselves.

Not that they should not post but on occasions, they either mislead or say something which is far from being helpful but cluster the threads here.

could be. however it is interesting to note that apple no longer publish these serial/model numbers on its website anymore.

perhaps because apple is constantly refurbishing the phones and sending them across the globe irrespective of the serial/model numbers.

@wigilante,
Possibly - I will add that model number to Post #1 now. It sure is interesting to see so many different model numbers for this particular region. Then again it might be the same for the other places except we aren't tracking.

anyway, i'm blinking sick of restoring my phone already (seriously... mine takes over an hour to complete)

so unless this one has to do something, with some sort of explosion, i'm not going back laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

@nokia2003,
Get it replaced just before U get urself the new upgraded iPhone in 2010. That way when you sell your i3GS U can claim it's almost brand new. The bad thing about it being brand new is that U can't quite test to ensure things are functioning the way it's supposed to be.

@viosowner,
I recognise the nick but I certainly don't remember what your queries & questions are. Do hope you're enjoying your new toy. I'm loving mine esp with MobileMe push email - they're so fast; it's almost immediate!

Updated model numbers for MY region.

not sure if what i'm about to say makes sense.

but the push for the mobileme e-mail works like your typical iTunes approved push apps like beejive, eBay et cetera.

hence technically, it is "designed" not to consume as much (the reason why it was introduced in the first place i.e. information is sent to an apple push notification centre and subsequently to end consumers)

mobileme e-mail reminds me a lot of my blackberry days. totally different from the dubious yahoo "push" feature on the iPhone.

@viosowner,
I've just started using the MobileMe service but thus far, I haven't experienced any battery issues. I'll do a test this weekend - then again, I'm not getting as many emails on my MobileMe account cause it's still new - and report back re battery status.
