does anyone know the price of i phone 3gs at taiwan? is better to buy at taiwan or at malaysia?

thank you in advance.

Depends on the location you will be staying permanently. If lets say you were to stay in Malaysia for a long time of period, why not consider local set? Im more concern on warranty wise. As i understand iPhone is quite fragile. sad.gif

Does all "Official Unlock iPhone" in Malaysia(Maxis/Digi), Singapore (Singtel), Taiwan, New Zealand, Hong Kong, etc..
has any differences on the iPhone in terms of the iPhone features? telco branding/logo etc? or is it 100% the same?
*
Its all the same. Difference only lie between locked & unlocked.

Since iphone 4 is selling for SGD$888 (around RM2080) now.
Do you think I should sell my phone now?
I will ask my SG fren to bring over iphone 4  over for me..
Second hand value for my 3gs 15gb is around RM1800 - 1900 now..
thx
*
If you can get 1800 and above for your i3gs, then i would strongly suggest you to sell it out biggrin.gif

What if we unlock the iPhone ourself, is there anyway we can produce it to "Official Unlock iPhone" ourself?

I read somewhere that AT&T can unlock their iPhone for their customers when their 2 years contracts has over. but not sure is this method of unlocking by AT&T produce the same "Official Unlock", if it's the same, that means there must be a ways to turn any "Official Lock iPhone" to "Official Unlock iPhone"
*
Yes its possible to turn into an official unlocked ones by paying a sum of money to service provider. But then im not quite sure on at&t set.

But up to this moment, we still don't have solutions to officially unlock the iPhone ourself right?
still have to go through the carriers to officially unlock it

I wonder why still nobody can came out the solution to Officially unlock since they already capable to do unofficial unlock with UltraSnow

I wonder what types of unlocking does the carriers use, Hardware Unlocking or Software Unlocking? hmm.gif  or their totally own in-house unlocking tools to do that, that tools to unlock should be leak somehow  laugh.gif
*
No way by urself. Read the source : http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2010/05/...-iphone-unlock/ And you will know how Apple do it.

It's a very interesting article  rclxms.gif  and very scary too, because Apple controls the IMEI database, at anytime they can blacklisted your iPhone, and your phone will becomes locked  doh.gif , very much like the features they have, stolen iPhone will get locked and erased  thumbup.gif

Does Maxis use the same system to unlocked the phone?. On the day we buy the iPhone from Maxis, do Maxis need to open up your iPhone and unlocked it for you before you can start using it? or we can unbox by ourself and activate it in the comfort of your home. hmm.gif
*
i don't think maxis has the authority to control the system. Hurm based on my own experience, the staff there will need to open the box and help to activate the phone before handling to respective owner. But then i see many people carry the phone seal in box and activate it by their own. At this point I get confused too. sad.gif

Are you sure the tethering works out of the box without any hacks?
if it works, then the comments might be false
Your avatar is indeed very funny too  thumbup.gif

As far as i know, the problem lie against celcom user only. Never had the chance to own so many sims sad.gif

I highly doubt that whether is that sim card limitation or the iphone actually limits the tethering based on carriers  rclxub.gif
*
iPhone OS 3.0 adds support for tethering, but it is dependent upon your carrier.

guys,

sorry, newbie here..
i just went to a maxis outlet yesterday and asked whether i can use a celcom simcard (exec 50) with rm68 unlimited 3g on maxis' iphone 3gs, the dude there told me that he's not sure and maybe i can or i may not. depending on the phone whether its locked or unlocked. i thought all maxis sold iphone 3gs are officially unlocked and i can use any simcard and use 3g without any problems, correct? also, is there any known problem if i use a celcom simcard on a maxis sold iphone 3gs?

thanks in advance
*
No problem at all. As you said, Maxis set is official unlocked ones. You can put in any sim card and 3g will works flawlessly biggrin.gif

Really? I thought we have to register with iTunes, and after that, apple will process the order based on our registration details in iTunes?
*
iTunes registration and purchasing via Apple store is completely different thing. I think they based on the CC add you used to purchase, saw this from iPhone SG tread. biggrin.gif Would be great if someone can confirm this. flex.gif
