This is very personal question, to me, I'm happy to have HardSPL for me to install (or let's say PLAY with) whatever type of ROM.
I'm not using official ROM, already converted to cooked (HomeBrew) ROM which definitely faster, stable than official ROM biggrin.gif

Please read the Xda BlackStone (Touch HD) WiKi carefully, then you should not have any problem.

Thanks again.

To those who PM me on HOW TO FLASH TO COOKED ROM / or OTHER SHIPPED ROM, you could refer to below thread, XDA already have very very clear instruction/guides how to "play" with your BlackStone. [All credits belongs to XDA]

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...ackstone_Flash1

Why worry so much? Hundred of users already success the flash;
If you're the one who brick your device, you'll be famous and become the 1st one who fail to do it biggrin.gif

Hi kylinlee,

I'm very interested to HSPL and flash newer version of ROM and Radio.

I have alot of applications (the shop installed for me when I bought from them) that I like
to keep after the HSPL and flash newer version of ROM and Radio.

If I backup (using SPB backup) the data before the HSPL and flash newer version of ROM and Radio,
I restore back the backup after the HSPl and flash newer version of ROM and Radio, will I get back all
my applications? (as I believe after flash new ROM, the HTC HD is considered hard reset and all the data are gone).

Thanks in advance.

Dutty is the king of cooked rom chef, you've no worry to use his ROM;
He is famous in XDA, his got tonnes of hardcore fans who following him, they only choose the device he bot bcos his ROM.

Trust me, you will never go back to official ROM when u try his ROM! He make ur device F-L-Y~

Thanks kylinlee, I read in somewhere that once you sucessful HSPL your HD, there is a very rare
chances you will brick your HTC HD when you flash your ROM later, is it true?

I really want to HSPL my HTC HD and then flash Dutty ROM.

Learn a lot from all the sifu here, thanks again.

Hi kylinlee,

I plan to HSPL tomorrow morning. Understand that the phone and PC must not disconnect when the HSPL is in
progress. How about if incoming call when HSPL is in progress? Do I need to disable the phone (airplane mode)?

One more thing, roughly how long is the HSPL take?

Thanks.

Did u check...

Preparations:
0) this package is for Blackstone devices. for BLAC100 so far (SSPL loader checks this)
1) make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
2) if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ce-center.mspx
*
Yup, I read the wiki many many times before I have confidence to do the HSPL.
Hmmm....something must have gone wrong.

Hi thteong/kylinlee

I found the solution in XDA forum. Follow the below for those who encounter error 202

Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC
Tick "Enable faster data synchronisation"

Note: Funny lar, last time I cannot active sync from my PC to HTC HD and I untick the "Enable faster data synchronisation", then only it able to connect, now it need to tick for me to connect from PC to HTC HD.

Hi kylinlee,

Now I'm ready to flash Dutty ROM V1.8.

Question:

1) Which is riskier to brick the PDA, HSPL or flash ROM ?
2) After I flash new rom, do I need to do hard reset or soft reset will do?
3) Is Dutty Rom v1.8 come with new Radio version or I need to install new Radio version?
4) After installing new Radio version, do I need to do hard reset?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Daneva

1) Both also can "brick" ur PDA/Phone; But the higher chance to brick ur PDA is ROM FLASHING bcos u only require to did HardSPL once whereby you may flash to other ROM many times smile.gif

2) 100% require to do HARD RESET after ur 1st flash.

3) Dutty's ROM does not include any RADIO; U can flash to any RADIO which u can find @ XDA;
Now I'm using latest 1.10, noticed that the GPS signal receiving is improving.

4) Not require. But now u r doing 1st time flash on ur HardSD, y not do this, flash HardSPL -> RADIO -> ROM then hard reset.

Hi kylinlee,

I want to flash new Radio 1.10.25.25 / 52.57.25.30U

Already copy the RUU_signed.nbh to the root dir of my storage card and follow the below step but
as soon as in step 4, when I press the Power Button, nothing happend. Did I miss out any step?

1)Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
2)Turn off your device by using the Power Button
3)Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
4)As soon as presented the message, push Power button to start flashing or Volume Down button to cancel.

The whole procedure will take about 3 minutes. After you finish and see the relative message, soft reset your device, you are ready.

i manage to flash my radio to the new 1.10.25.25 / 52.57.25.30U. i didnt flash it from my SD because i read a lot of HD users in XDA have the same problem so i choose the other method using HD_Blackstone_CustomRUU.exe. It's quite simple. Haven't test how does this version of radio perform. Will do it later. btw, here's some link for u..

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...lackstone_Radio
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466274

p/s: get the custom RUU with the latest radio version on 4shared mirror
*
Thanks jejari/evilpuppy

I think I found it, normally it come with RUU_signed.nbh. You need to rename to BLACIMG.nbh

From XDA developer;

*Get a microSD card (of whatever size you like) and format it (***please make sure you format it, but not just delete all contents on it***) NOTE : Make sure you format it FAT32. This may not work for all microSD cards. ?SanDisk cards always work with this method.

Find the Radio image you would like to use, normally named RUU_Signed.nbh, and rename it to "BLACIMG.nbh"
Copy BLACIMG.NBH into the root dir of your Storage Card.
Again, be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
Turn off your device by using the Power Button
Go to bootloader mode. Push and hold Vol Down + press Power button.
As soon as presented the message, push Power button to start flashing or Volume Down button to cancel.
The whole procedure will take about 3 minutes. After you finish and see the relative message, soft reset your device, you are ready.

Hi kylinlee,

After more than 1 day playing around with new rom (Dutty V1.8) and Radio 1.10, I feel that the speed is faster
and less hang and the issue with "temporary no connection/no network" is no longer there.

I like the new calendar the most, much much better than the original HTC HD.

But I have one small problem where in people tab, the photo is blur, do you or anyone
face this and what is the solution?

Also I found that 3 sec delay still there, so I need to reinstall the patch for this.

Note: Those who still have doubt to flash new rom, my advise is go ahead, u will feel the different.

Cheers,

Daneva

What's ur opinions?

My advise is keep it as my friend get bored playing with his 3G iphone after 2 days and get rid of it.
But the multi media is very good and the touch respond, thats about it (that's what he said).

Since you like to flash rom regularly, I'm sure u will get bored with 3G iphone.
