Of coz u need to pay for GPRS/3G/HSPDA data connection while using Google Map.

If u not active ur A-GPS on ur WM device, GPS is free of charge.

kylinlee, sure I know what ROM is. smile.gif Just I wonder what software was bundled in the ROM update file. I just flashed to 1.18.707.3 and found the software bundled was quite basic and didn't really miss out anything.

No x'tra sw bundle on official ROM; 1.18.707.3 is improve stability and some bugs fix; 1.19.831.0 is the latest and faster than 1.18.xxx.x

For easier way, install HD TWEAK then change the settings

HSPL - Hard-SPL for Blackstone - Released !!!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217

Anyone tried it?

If I do the Hard-SPL, will it void my warranty?

Is it after the HardSPL only I can install latest ROM (1.19.831.0)?
If possible step by step as I'm newbie in ROM stuff

Nope, HT TWEAK cannot solved the 3 sec delay.Go to below link

a) Yes, installed it long time.

b) Technically u're void the SIS warranty; But u always can flash back before you send back for claim.

c) Yes, Hard-SPL will allow u to install what ever type of ROM without ID checking.

Yes, you just require to choose PIM restore (uncheck system restore).

thank you. your prompt reply is much appreciated

another question:
it could be somewhere in these pages or other forum i remember someone posted up the "call" page with those keypads. at the bottom left next to the green "TALK" button, it's supposed to be a video call button. but mine was overlaid with "call history" and everytime i press that for video call, it will open up the call history instead. i had to go through the menu hassle everytime i want to vid call. any idea how to solve that? or is it just my set problem? (i've been tweaking a lot, could have messed up the button).

yes, exactly that one. but mine, there's a "call history" text overlaid. everytime i press that, it will open up call log instead.

ok, i googled and found out the problem: http://www.slashphone.com/htc-touch-hd-hot...ds-a-fix-084062

i got the initial release of the hotfix which created another problem. and dang, HTC replaced the hotfix again with newer version without any notification

Thanks kylinlee, dont know worth to do HardSPL and install the latest ROM.
BTW, do you have the latest ROM for me to download? (just in case I decide
to do the ROM upgrade).

Is your HTC HD run any faster/better with the new ROM?

Thanks in advance.

This is very personal question, to me, I'm happy to have HardSPL for me to install (or let's say PLAY with) whatever type of ROM.
I'm not using official ROM, already converted to cooked (HomeBrew) ROM which definitely faster, stable than official ROM biggrin.gif

Please read the Xda BlackStone (Touch HD) WiKi carefully, then you should not have any problem.

Based on my past experience (from Palm III till now), I still strongly recommend BRANDO Ultra Clear Screen Protector, it's very expensive but best of the best.

Is there an easier way to make the HD not to turn off the screen itself automatically duing Garmin GPS navigation?

So far I have to go thru the hard way by changing the power settings each time
