Well, the theory of high risk high gain always apply.
However, stock market tends to be a bit different as risk was looked in a different manner. It can be predicted, assume and anlayze differently and all these analysis require something to based at.
The fact that I think lowyat 888 predicted an artificial rise on the composite was as the big storm is still ahead. Would M'sia share market be more prosperous during global slowdown. Are we vulnerable to global slowdown and slowdown of our largest trading partner, US.
In 1997, FDI only enter M'sia after 50% recovery, why is that? It is because to reduce risk taking. Nobody know the bottom of the market, but purchasing not for profit taking before storm ahead was risky.
Share market is about analysis and investment, not gambling.
I also read somewhere that if you want to be safe, just buy into a sustained rally.... that way, you won't lose much money...... again, the problem is, the rally might already started for some time before you noticed it!!!
Gambling? Errr... as far as I know, lots of people gamble in stocks.... even selling off their assets just to buy stocks.... look at all those aunties and uncles in front of the stock board....
Anyway, whatever it is, hope we all make the right decisions and come out with big fat ang pow. My strategy still stays - sell off in Q1 then buy in Q2/Q3 (for long-term investment) when I think the market is at the bottom....
