hye guys...im currently using steelseries 5hv2 with siberia sound card...now i think i want an upgrade....plz help me choose between razer megalodon and steelseries siberia frost blue..

my experiences with the 5h is not as good..but the sensitivity is at flaw...bought first as mouzport edition then sent it out for rma and they change it to the regular 5hv2...after using it for months, the problem that occurs still the same as the previous mouzport version...
the problems are...
1. if i turn up or down the volume rocker...the sound seems distorted and the balancing between both side of the speakers were not balanced at all.
2. i have to choose the volume according to the where the sound balanced for both speakers...

so shud i get a razer or maybe ss siberia (afraid of the problem with my 5h appears with the siberia too)...
the razer is an old version but the siberia is the current products..\

so really need ur help...thanks

First thing first, do you need the mic?

Generally I wouldn't recommend 'gaming' headsets because the sound quality is atrocious for the price they are asking for. But 'gaming' headsets is better than the normal 'office' headsets you can find cheaper. Unless you can get gaming headsets cheap, my advice is generally to avoid them if you do not need a mic.

But since you need a mic, personally the only 'gaming' headset I own is the Razer Carcharias. The mic works great, the sound is ok. But I wouldn't know how it compares to the headphones you have. I do know however the Siberia V2 sounds a lot fuller than the Carcharias as I tested my friend's headset. So for me, the Siberia V2 > Carcharias but the it's also much more expensive.

Hence, I didn't buy it. How good is it? compared to others that within it's price range.

They have a branch opposite Asia Cafe near SS15. Very friendly bunch of sales guys. Been buying from them for 3 years now. Price is reasonable really. Worse than online retailers but better than most stores. But you get the security and satisfaction.

Currently I'm using Steelseries Siberia v2. I have no complains about the sound quality.
However I feel like the earcups are not deep enough, it is pressing against my ear. So after about 2hrs usage, my ears starting to ache.
