Life's simple. Enjoy what you've got and if you're not, go buy something else and add it up. What's so hard about it anyway?

You set your own limits. No one else.

Good point.

Maybe i start something interesting here... related to wii

RE4 on the wii is one of the most perfect games i ever played in my gaming history (For single player game adventure game). The graphic is up to par, the control is one of the most awesome in gaming history, just press and aim, natural, easy and great. Not to mention the tilting to slash the knife, love it.

So, I hope day and night for any similar games to come along. And dream come true when capcom gonna release rising dead. That one game i wanted to try on the wii for sure.

But is there any other planning to actually utilize the incredible motion control on the wii with this sort of games?

Nintendo been keep pushing the motion control to its limit (let's tap?). Is inovative, but i think is really time to start sitting down and develop games which work perfect with the wiimote and nunchuck.
What do you guys think?

The bad thing of RE4 is 16:9 screen ratio on a 480p capable only console sleep.gif That's the reason I couldn't put time into it

Actually, I'm looking forward to Lets Tap. It doesn't just show how the Wii mote is just simple motion sensing controls, but Sega was able to find out how to deal with the sensitivity of the motion sensing and make them look much more usable. That's broadening horizons. biggrin.gif

jen, u do realise RE4 was originally not made to be played that way? it just so happened the geniuses at Capcom figure out how to make it work with the wii controls.

the best thing u can hope for is a RE5 with wii controls, a spin-off gameof some sorts or worse case, a pared-down RE5. Probably the suits at Capcom was waiting to see how Dead Rising Wii does before greelighting that....

Yes. Although I am looking forward to RE5 on 360, I still feel that an entirely new RE build on RE4 wii control scheme will be the best game ever.

Agree with Jen. No game's control comes close to RE4 Wii, not even Gears of War 2 and Halo 3, sorry 360 fans.

I played RE4 on GameCube, yet i felt pleasantly surprised when I played the RE4 on Wii.

ppl have been talking abt the future of video games as one platform, a universal console..... that's gonna be boring

As much as I would like to say great discussion, but I fail to see the point of this for the past 7 pages. Sure, numbers can be important but surely, if you care about the numbers, you would have read it long before it was even posted here.

So, what does this thread do? Lure the fanboys in? And then we wait for the "Civilized Gamers Society" to walk in and poke them around? Mods have closed threads like this before because it absolutely serves zero purpose, other than the first post (which allowed me to learn something new).

After that, all I see is someone who will come in with a remark that Wii is subpar and then the arguments on why Nintendo is superior arises. Someone quotes the "graphic is almighty rule" and then someone will go "Oh motion control and Nintendo saved the game industry", someone will go on and say "Kiddy games" and then talks on cultural icons will surface.

How many times do we have to dance the same dance? Over and over and over again. One would have thought people would have gotten tired of this.

I now leave you to your discussion. My rant of the day is complete. smile.gif

Very enlighten you seems.
But does this thread have to "do something" for it to serve a purpose?
I beg to differ.

You must have spent a lot of times reading this discussion, looking at your post.
Perhaps you should not have read this if it bother you these much.

Going by your logic it seems to me that you should have quit your gaming hobby and stop visiting Console Couch.
Console Couch has always served minimal purpose as well,
besides it is a great place for discussion, brain storming, and perhaps some reflections and amateur analysis.
If news are all you seek, IGN, EDGE, Kotaku are you place. Not here.

The whole gaming as a hobby, serve ZERO purpose besides making profit for shareholders.
Yes you've saved Princes Peach, but did terrorist stop killing innocent people?
Yes you have sunk Jacinto, but did the Credit Crunch suddenly became history?
No, hence it serve no purpose.

The discussion started really well, and people have great times discussing initially,
until certain people start insulting others.

If you are not agreeable with some of our comment,
you are always welcome to rebuke us, with reasons of course.
Writing off the whole discussion by calling this thread "Serving No Purpose",
does not make the points that you are unable accept goes away.

Having a great time discussing, exchanging view in a Civilised way,
are all we strive to do here.
No, i don't visit LYN to serve any purpose,
I come here to have a good time discussing with friends.

It doesnt have to be RE5, it's can be any shooting games, as long as the gameplay are the same as RE4, and yeah, is amazing, not even the new Dead Space which play so similar. How i hope i am using the wiimote and nunchuk smile.gif

Yes yes! That is what I feel when I played Gears of War 2,
i said to myself -- How nice if i can use Wiimote & nun-chuck.

There is a very short game from Nintendo - Link Cross Bow Training.
Nintendo has done a really good FPS in Zelda setting.
The control is pretty tight, and addictive as well.
But the problem is it is too short. It felt more like a tech-demo.
So i don't recommend you to get it.

Other than that, you have already tried COD WAW,
so far from the feedback i heard, it is very good.
Comment said that it got tight control, but i haven't tried it personally.

RE 4 & Umbrella Chronicles should be the good one.
House of Dead is definitely excellent, waiting for Overkill.

Umbrella is fun... great use of onrail shooter. Same goes to HotD although the graphic may be quite outdated, is still fun smile.gif

COD:WAW, personally, i think it got the best graphic over wii, quite dinamic and nice. Played it till the end. Great control compare to PS3 controller pad. smile.gif

After about 7 pages of nail gouging, intelligent and civilized chatter i think i would like to make a contributing to this very thought provoking thread...

look we are all gamers here, when somebody says that their console has won the holidays or something it nearly always seem to be for trolling or self love for their console, the latter of which has nothing bad about it. Also as gamers we have the privilege to enjoy some exclusive games/devices/services that can only be found on our own consoles. The Wii has their idiot proof, casual, entertaining games. The 360 and PS3 have great graphics, games that appeal to the core gamers.

Say whatever you want about a certain console the fact of the matter is when in a competition or race one console would not be the all singing all dancing machine, it will always have its limits, the Wii has shortage(not absence) of core games, the PS3 and 360 find it hard to attract the mass market. Consoles are meant to be a cheap effective form of gaming whatever platform you choose.

Game consoles are like cars, The 360 and PS3 are like Ferraris and Mercedes Benz's and the Wii is like a Toyota, one group is cheap, effective and popular while the other group is mass market. My point is cars are cars and their main duty is to transport people and like consoles its main priority is too entertain the people. If you realized that im grouping the PS3 and 360 together and not the Wii even Nintendo said they are not competing with Microsoft and Sony, and if you realize something about the gaming news is always about the rivalry between Sony and Microsoft....i.e: see FF13 and MGST and Resident Evil 5....

One final point here is that the TS intentions are unclear, he might just want to show some love for his console or just wants to spread flames here, but whatever the case we gamers when it gets down to it do not care about the console wars, when a gaming event happens we will all be proud to got there and play with one another whatever the console preference. When one of us needs help everybody across the forum will come out to help regardless of what console they have. We should just game because if the love that we have for our hobby and not hate each other just because we have different loyalties.

OK, i take this as a recommendation to get a Wii version.
Because I am still undecided whether to get 360 or Wii,
I already tilted towards getting a Wii version coz I fear the 360 version might have uninspiring control,
and might played too much like COD4.

For House of Dead... haha, Wii one looks better than DreamCast,
and played MUCH better!

I think many of us Wii gamers are too pamper by RE4 Wii controls,
everytime a shooters came out, we will be disappointed because it is not as good as RE4 Wii.
Agree?

Capcom is really genius, besides RE4 Wii-make,
their Okami Wii-make is very very excellent.
Wii control basically transformed the gameplay, and speed up the progress.
The whole Okami played much tighter because of the control.
The PS2 version is already excellent, Wii-make is simply fabulous.

I come here for good discussions as well, and I have had my share of fun in the various kopitiams and random chat threads that were opened across console couch.

So, yes, to me, every thread serves a purpose, whether it is to share views and experiences with a particular game (ie individual game threads), or console buying advice (which exists in every sub-forum). This thread could have served its purpose, but wouldn't you agree that discussion about the Wii and how great it is can be shared in the Nintendo sub-forum?

I don't specfically go to a Canon forum and scream, damn Nikon won these awards! So, while I appreciate the insights I gained from reading the past 7 pages, I would also think that piece of news could have gone into one of the many threads that are already available. Which therefore, brings me to my point that this thread serves no purpose because it could have done its job as a simple post in another thread.

As for your whole gaming hobby serves no purpose, aww, you don't feel that being entertained is a purpose? That in itself is why I play games. After all, if I am not entertained, why bother playing? Not all purposes have to be big and lofty so I don't envision myself solving world hunger just because I completed Cooking Mama. In fact, I can't even fry an egg after completing Cooking Mama, but I was thoroughly entertained.

And typing long posts like this is fun to me. So indulge me for the moment yah? smile.gif

Yes, exactly what I am telling you,
we were entertained, hence it serves a purpose.
You've suggested that this thread serves no purpose,
so I thought you opined that entertainment is not a purpose?
If entertainment is not a purpose to you, gaming will have zero value for u.

If this thread indeed has to move to Nintendo sub-forum,
we thank you for informing us.
But at the same time i am puzzled as well, looking at titles listed on main page, (http://forum.lowyat.net/ConsolesCouch)
there are PSP and PS3 centric discussion which you have graciously ignored,
while this Wii centric title alone become your target?
Do i sense unfairness?

No most of us do not scream Wii success,
we discuss, we ponder, and we expound on its' success.
However it saddened me that there are certain factions that obviously took offense at Wii success,
and started to use filthy languages to ridicule others.
Don't u think these are the behaviour that you should condemned, instead of the lesser evil of "post in incorrect sub-forum"?

Your very first thread in this discussion included fair amount of sarcasm towards forumers,
i would suggest that you don't engage in this thread if you find it offensive or meaningless.
Many of us have had fun, and i am sorry if you don't.

If you don't mind, me and the other gentlemen would like to continue the discussion.
Hitman190 have had some insightful comments, which i agreed totally.

I beg to differ, numbers do means a lot to gamers.

For example, to X360 owner who likes to play or wishes to play Final Fantasy 13  drool.gif  do you think if X360 is selling badly in US of A, Square would even THINK of porting it to X360? Most of the gamers have no money and they cannot just buy PS3 for the sake of playing that game. See, by selling shedloads is does pays off to be X360 owner.

Another example, Monster Hunter 3. Why do you think it is coming out on Wii? Because Wii sales obliterate everyone else.

All this example are only applicable to Single Owner console. If you are rich and can own all three then sales figure does not matter. But for the other 95% of gamers who owns only 1 console at 1 time, then it means a lot to them.

Edited. Grammar and spelling
