Nokia Malaysia is so slow, n97 is still not on their mainpage, haih

those who bought this phone pls do a mini review, hows the speed, does it feel flimsy?

I heard 2480 is dealers transfer for Zitron set and next week is available (heard from ppl from Zitron) can anyone confirmed this?

i already placed order, but price and date not confirm..just for us to lock the units..

They told me by next week confirmed if I want that price but I sure the stocks is damn limited and for those who want to get it 2480 is damn difficult or maybe have to wait month end to get...

Hey, I need opinions from you guys.
Should I buy this set at KLCC or Sg. Wang? Coz based on my experience, sometimes the authorized dealers at Sg.Wang sell original handphones with other accessories in a package with a very reasonable price.
What do you think?

To me if the price is right and that is why I check out all the accessories from other website and see if they are giving all the accessories when buying the set....but never brought from SWP except Low Yat Plaza from those I know well only....

I'm currently using n97. got it few days ago.

all i can say is i'm very satisfied with it, nothing major to complain about. truly what a flagship device ought to be made out of. however, i have highlighted a few issues or complaints after using it for a few days. hope this mini review helps.

pros:
-great sliding mechanism. feels very solid and slick. slide motion is quite addictive.
-great interface, can match the iphone. very good cues in input methods and buttons.
-ability to run widgets is really cool.
-gorgeous web browser.
-responsiveness is satisfactory. i doubt it will remain this way if you max out the 32gb though.
-ability to customize your content display on the standby screen is awesome. ability to add applications and widgets onto the standby screen is pretty cool.
-if i'm not wrong, sound quality on this device is better than my previous n82. or maybe its just because of my mylar bijou earphones lol.
-qwerty keyboard is gorgeous. feels good and solid. very nice matte finish.
-can charge via usb. meaning i dont need to carry a charger around, just the usb cable. (like ipods)

cons:
-inability to scroll. in the menus, you cant swipe the touchscreen to scroll, like the iphone. you have to use the scroll bar at the side which is quite a pain. same goes for contacts. the scroll bar is too small and it isn't precise.
-camera's image quality is mediocre. or maybe i'm just too used to slr quality.
-position of the call and end call buttons abit weird. even weirder that they're touch buttons. would have preferred normal buttons cos you can feel and be sure of the response once you press it.
-position of the menu button abit weird too, also because its the only non-touch button on the front. nevertheless i'm sure these are all things that take some getting-used-to. shouldnt be a major issue.
-i'm currently experiencing some BIG issue with my keyguard switch. a few times already it suddenly stopped working and i had to take out the battery and restart my phone. after that then ok already. not sure if it is a manufacturing defect or a software problem. damn pissing off. if it persists, i will check with nokia centre later.

conclusion - worth every cent of the 2480. however i would advice to get only from official distributors. not surprised there will be some problems later on that need to be rectified, since this is the very first generation of n97, and it is such a complex device.

ashleigh, what about the cam quality with pictures in the dark, without flash?
Surely for RM2480, someyhing's got to give.

uhm, i dont really know how to judge cos i dont usually shoot with my phone. i would say its similar to the n82's quality. maybe slightly better. doesnt seem to be too noisy. colours are abit off, just like all the other phones low light pics.

lock the units? why need to lock? =.=l

how about the battery life ? Moderate usage like Sms , make a few calls which last around 5 to 10 mins each, capturing few images, and some mp3 session. I am pissed off by the N96 BL-5F, which doesn't last for one full day with moderate use.

I replace my N95 with 5800 last week and the SQ a lot better than N95, N82 and N81 i tested. From the review i read, N97 is better than 5800 in term of headphone output (5800 lack power to drive high impedance earphone) and cleanliness. 5800 hiss a lot less, almost none, when compared to those N's i mentioned. 5800 actually hiss less than my Sony mp3 player (maybe cuz 5800 max volume isnt loud enough to expose those hisses)

5800 use 1320mah battery and it can last at least 3days based on my usage (V21 firmware). 3-4 HOURS wifi with Opera, 20-30 sms, 2-5 minutes calls, taking bunch of photos with/without flash, 1+ hour playing games (addicted to UNO currently), listened to music via headphone for 1+hour and via loudspeaker for 1+ hour. If u add in 1 hour of GPS and movie session each, it still can last u a day easily. N97 use the monster 1500mah.
