i'm looking forward this phone. *looking at my 5800*

what he meant was that the price will same as the launch price for both n95 and n96 during their time. However, I do have a strange feeling that it would be slightly lower since what they offering this time is nothing revolutionary like n95 plus the failure of n96. I get the feeling that nokia might tone down N97 price to grip on larger sales volume to boost the high end market share figure. Just a thought though

they grabbed very high attention on the symbian 5th ed as shown in 5800 as a bait to this N97. price could be higher thou.

To me 5800 is just a normal device, nothing revolutionary, just a bit of that touch screen which dominated by many phones alike out there. I don't know how 5th edition fares coz I never got my hand on one yet but whatever it is, 5800 is just a showcase of touchscreen capability coming from the Nokia house.

What I meant that it's been sometime now since Nokia claimed the throne of high end segment. N96 certainly didn't break any grounds nor did it re-establish Nokia's lead in the high end segment. Therefore, I have a feeling that Nokia might be a bit cautious on their pricing scheme this time plus the economic downturn might shun a lot of potential buyers if the price is rocket high like N95 or 96.

On a personal note, I think that phone prices are getting ridiculously high these days while technology is getting cheaper.

few years back, you own a phone above 1k means something(rich huh?), now u own a 2-3k phone baru call "wow, nice phone!".

buy heard a lot of bad new for 5800 coz a lot of manufacturing defects, some review can check in lyn forum

now 2-3k also normal only. Not even enough juice to brag the whole year long.

lol. if u wan to brag it for the whole year long, get a phone aged 10~15 years ago which is a size of a brick. and ppl would like, 'WOW, that's NICE phone." haha

15-20 yrs ago, the cell phones could easily cost a few thousands.



btw, how come this video so much difference than the bottom one?
this one UI got smooth transition animation, can be on par with iphone

I can't see the videos coz' my comp block youtube but I can guess that you are showing the nokia promo clip and the actual phone demo, right? The promo clip definitely is just an animation though I wish by the time it comes out it could be that smooth. I like the ripple effect when the screen was pressed, nice. Wish they would have that as an effect of pressing.

bought the 5800 for few days then sold it now be patient and wait for the N97 ....
