Er, this has been implemented into phones for quite some time.

It's for security and discretion purposes. New phones have this feature so that when you take someone's picture, they will know it.

I Had The Exact Same Problem As You Too.. The Phone Just Takes Forever To Boot.. The Trick To Solve This Problem Is To Turn Off Your Phone (By Removing The Battery And Place It Back), Plug In The MicroUSB Charger, Wait For The Phone To Boot Up Till The Screen With The Battery Bars At Top Right, Now Hold The On Button To Turn On The Phone.. This Time The Phone Should Boot To The Standby Screen... =)

Hope This Helps!

Tip of the day: Calibrate the N97’s Compass in 3 seconds

user posted image

QUOTE
The Nokia N97 has a built in compass to show you which direction you’re heading. One downside is that each time the Compass should be calibrated before use. According to Nokia, it should be calibrated by rotating the device around all axes in a continuous movement until the calibration indicator changes its colour to green. Mark from The Nokia Blog demonstrates how it should be done:

But Norman John from the Symbian World has found an easier and faster way to do it. The video below shows the faster way to do it.

Hi, I recently tried to save movie into my N97 using the OVI program provided.

The 1st movie converted and transferred like a charm. The movie was perfect for viewing.
Its initial size was 700MB and after conversion, 800MB++.

Then I use the same method to transfer the 2nd movie and 3rd movie.. Didn't work.
Both of the same format as the first, about the same size too but both after convert, become the size of about 30MB.
they'd play like video only there's no image. just sound.

Do you guys have the same problem?

Please Help.

Thanks.

Don't think OVI CD (Ovi suite) provide any video conversion software. I don't know how you did it because i couldn't find it anywhere. What i would suggest you to do is, go download Nokia PC Suite instead from the nokia website or click here. There is a component called "Nokia Video Manager" inside, which convert all video files to MP4 and i find it very user friendly and make effective conversion. A medium quality conversion will typically reduce the video size to about 1/4 of the original size, while a high quality conversion will simply half the original video size. The output can be played using the built in Real Player.
