You can't expect to have every single byte of the 32GB.
*
doh.gif 32GB is C:\ [Phone Memory]
41MB free out of 128MB is D:\ [RAM]
E:\ is the Memory Card (micro SDHC)

Means used up 41MB from 128MB Phone Memory or
used up 41MB from 32GB ?

Or due to bits and bytes calculation ? 1024 x 1024 x ...

Added on June 11, 2009, 10:53 pmI'm also confused. My N82 unit when new also has:
[C:\] Phone Memory: 120MB Free out of 128MB - N97 should have ~31GB+ free
[D:\] RAM: 86MB free out of 128MB
[E:\] Memory Card: depends on package

i mean phone memory.. not mass storage.. phone memory 41mb/78mb.... so fast use finish le..

Seems like a lot of apps or background apps taking up the RAM. I think future firmware may release 10-20MB of RAM.

some reviews claim that n97 is pretty laggy and it crashes quite often...
is that true for those who owned and used n97 here?
*
Initial v10 firmware is quite normal. Wait till Nokia release V20, V30, then more stable.

Same with N95 with v10 last time, crash and hang very often.

I think many read/mistaken N97 package. It is stated support 16GB micro-SDHC card. Not bundled with it. rolleyes.gif

Hey, as far as I know, there's no bundle of 16GB MMC with the Nokia N97. It's not in the official package.
*
Bro, no more MMC nowadays. It is micro-SDHC to be precise.

They also smart. Maybe they bundle in something else like BT headset or some music download, ringtones download, etc. and put higher price. Remember they earn more from accessories rather than handset.

RRP RM2480

That's the price to pay. However, I don't mind paying up to RM100 extra for convenience sake and confirm original/authorised from Nokia centres like KLCC, BTS, etc. Anything more than that, no.

a stupid question for me about the GPS system.....sad.gif

is it the rate charge of GPS is under the 3G  service charge?
*
Disable A-GPS. Slower satellite lock, but then, confirm no data/sms charges.

Menu -> Tools -> Connectivity -> GPS data ->Option -> Positioning Settings -> Disable/Uncheck Assisted GPS

For N97 music fans.

Nokia N97: “now closes on perfection, deviating by no more than 0.27dB throughout the audible range”

I think it depends on product/region code. Maybe it is available for Europe first. Not APAC.

Anyway, the next firmware upgrade will most likely be v20, standard Nokia practise tongue.gif

You think upgrade firmware is like buy John King egg-tarts meh ? tongue.gif The actual process may need 30 minutes or more. If problem, may delay 1-2 hours. Their next best answer is maybe to leave your phone here and collect tomorrow lunch time, which I think most users are not willing and the shops not willing also, in case of break-in / theft. Cheers
