Ah finally, after so many hours, I managed to set up my N97 properly.

Signed up for the Maxis 3G unlimited plan. Now I have Facebook, The Star and my Office email connected all the time on the net. Every 5 minutes my email server will check for new emails.

Most probably you download your office mail to your laptop. The phone connects to the server which stores all your unread mail before you download them to your laptop

Does anyone know how to keep the widgets connected all the time or automatically update themselves? My The Star widget wouldn't update unless I manually update it same goes for AccWeather.

Haha, congrats. Now got kaki using N97 with Maxis 3G unlimited plan. I set up my Gmail with Nokia Messaging, everytime got new mail, it will auto-push to my phone ala Blackberry.

Checked my 3G usage for today, for updating weather widgets + Facebook + The Star, already used > 10MB since this morning.

Bought for my other half one - White color.. Tried all the functionality.. and so far no issues except for the slide key (lock\unlock) when u try to unlock it will be unlocked but no backlight.. some of them face the same issue here as well. Guess it would be fixed on the next firmware update. Other than that I'm satisfied with my purchase

Added on June 26, 2009, 5:51 pmWidget can be streamed via WLAN. Just ensure that you have properly authenticate to the WLAN. Meaning you are not piggy back-ing on other peoples WLAN . I have seen a setting where you can choose which is your prefered connection WLAN or 3G in one of the menu .. Thinks its around Select Menu > Settings and Connectivity >
Destinations.

It does weight so if your 1st preferred connection is WLAN and its not available then it will go for the 2nd preferred connection : maybe another WLAN or 3G

That's the way I setup my N97. Use Wi-Fi when at home (1st Priority) and fallback to Maxis 3G while when no Wi-Fi signal / outdoor (2nd priority).

You bought original as well? seem like not much things to worry about...should go try it out soon

try testing the connection WLAN connection in other places. If its working well then you might have to check your wireless router. Mabe the connection drops for some reason...

@darkImage12 ; Yea i bought the original.. Avaxx warranty. Dont think so the AP set is out. Please do test it but make sure its not the prototype ones. Some nokia center has prototype N97 which is not as good as the realesed one. We need to press the screen a bit harder to flip and its a bit slow, also the "." and " , " keys are in reverse order. Just some tips so you know its not the prototype that you are looking at

"." and '," is reverse for proto? so meaning the proto no need to press shift to type "." but release unit have to press shift to type "."?

Eh, I'm not saying got issue with my connection. I purposely set it that way.

Home Wi-Fi (1st Priority)
Maxis 3G (2nd priority)

When I'm at home, my N97 will automatically use the home Wi-Fi connection, and when I'm out of the Wi-Fi range (Outdoor for example) it will automatically switch to Maxis 3G.

This way, I can stay connected no matter where I go.
