1 question, how to set the widget to only update / refresh data using wi-fi connection only. Don't want to get charged with huge data bill from Maxis because of the widgets.

Ah, found it already. I opened the default browser, settings > general > access point > internet. Apparently, 3G / GPRS falls under WAP services.

I think the battery life of N97 is amazing.

I left the phone on the charger last night, and disconnect it from the charger around 8am this morning. I turned on the wi-fi for the widgets to refresh data, make some call, sms, & listened to music for around 1/2 hour.

Now, 14.5 hours later, the battery indicator is showing 6 bars (out of 7). It's really amazing indeed!

Hmm ... now considering to subscribe to Maxis unlimited data plan so I can Facebook and keep the Widgets updated while on the move.

Haha, Facebook on the go was one of the reason why I bought the phone. It's easier to post / reply using qwerty keyboard.

But they're going to charge you 3% to convert the purchase to 10 months installment (or 5% for 20 months installment), no longer considered as 0% interest.

I've subscribed to Maxis unlimited data plan already. Going to enjoy my Facebook and widgets on the move.

The speed depends on your area / signal strength I guess. In my area, I get 3G (sometime 3.5G) signal, and I found the surfing speed to be comparable with my home's Wi-Fi (1mb Streamyx). Being able to stay connected on my N97 at the same speed as my home connection while on the move is worth it for me.

Haha, congrats. Now got kaki using N97 with Maxis 3G unlimited plan. I set up my Gmail with Nokia Messaging, everytime got new mail, it will auto-push to my phone ala Blackberry.

Checked my 3G usage for today, for updating weather widgets + Facebook + The Star, already used > 10MB since this morning.

That's the way I setup my N97. Use Wi-Fi when at home (1st Priority) and fallback to Maxis 3G while when no Wi-Fi signal / outdoor (2nd priority).

Eh, I'm not saying got issue with my connection. I purposely set it that way.

Home Wi-Fi (1st Priority)
Maxis 3G (2nd priority)

When I'm at home, my N97 will automatically use the home Wi-Fi connection, and when I'm out of the Wi-Fi range (Outdoor for example) it will automatically switch to Maxis 3G.

This way, I can stay connected no matter where I go.

Where do you see N97 in the compatible devices? I checked the N-Gage official site and N97 is not in the list.

No wonder la, I was looking at the Malaysia's N-Gage website. I guess they never update that site.

Plus turning off the touch screen to avoid disconnection if you accidentally pressed the "end call" button.

Pouch will loosen up after few days, at least mine did.

Anybody tried uploading photos to Facebook direct from the phone?

I tried on my phone and keeps on getting script error / unable to upload photo error. Restarting the Facebook app / phone didn't help at all.

Tried that few times and didn't work.

Finally I'm able to upload photos to Facebook directly from the phone by using Wi-Fi. All this while I'm using Maxis 3G to upload and it failed every single time.

Yes, the widgets will work even on 5800 themes.

Um, try to remove and add back the widget on standby screen?

Argh, so someone else is having that problem too? I thought I'm the only one. Currently on my Facebook's profile page, it's showing updates before 1st June only.

Downloading V11 update now, hope this will fix my Facebook.

Updated to firmware v11 and it didn't fix my Facebook problem. My profile page is only showing updates before 1st June only. I'm disappointed as mobile Facebook is one of the main reason for me to buy the N97.

By the way, anybody tried using Google Maps on N97? With Google Maps' Latitude function, you can update your whereabouts on the map in real time.
But don't tell your girlfriend / wife about this, she's going to stalk you for sure.

I'm on Maxis 3G Unlimited, been using this phone for almost a month and faced this rebooting when on 3G issue once when I'm on firmware V10. Now I've upgraded to V11, and haven't see that problem repeating .... yet.
