QUOTE(kunamiya @ Jun 9 2009, 08:14 PM) like to ask did the QWERTY keyboard have a Backlit Keyboard Yes. Different backlight color for white and black model. Google for pictures...or u cant even type the keyboard in the dark area ? QUOTE(peeky @ Jun 9 2009, 08:40 PM) 5800 is the launching pad for S60v4. All software compatible on 5800 should work similarly on N97. |

QUOTE(ashleighhhh @ Jun 7 2009, 02:01 AM) I'm currently using n97. got it few days ago. Regarding the scrolling issue, it should work like the 5800. Use a scrolling action with your finger/stylus and stop near the bottom of the screen, then you'll start to screen scrolling. Not necessary to always use the scroll bar at he side.all i can say is i'm very satisfied with it, nothing major to complain about. truly what a flagship device ought to be made out of. however, i have highlighted a few issues or complaints after using it for a few days. hope this mini review helps. pros: -great sliding mechanism. feels very solid and slick. slide motion is quite addictive. -great interface, can match the iphone. very good cues in input methods and buttons. -ability to run widgets is really cool. -gorgeous web browser. -responsiveness is satisfactory. i doubt it will remain this way if you max out the 32gb though. -ability to customize your content display on the standby screen is awesome. ability to add applications and widgets onto the standby screen is pretty cool. -if i'm not wrong, sound quality on this device is better than my previous n82. or maybe its just because of my mylar bijou earphones lol. -qwerty keyboard is gorgeous. feels good and solid. very nice matte finish. -can charge via usb. meaning i dont need to carry a charger around, just the usb cable. (like ipods) cons: -inability to scroll. in the menus, you cant swipe the touchscreen to scroll, like the iphone. you have to use the scroll bar at the side which is quite a pain. same goes for contacts. the scroll bar is too small and it isn't precise. -camera's image quality is mediocre. or maybe i'm just too used to slr quality. -position of the call and end call buttons abit weird. even weirder that they're touch buttons. would have preferred normal buttons cos you can feel and be sure of the response once you press it. -position of the menu button abit weird too, also because its the only non-touch button on the front. nevertheless i'm sure these are all things that take some getting-used-to. shouldnt be a major issue. -i'm currently experiencing some BIG issue with my keyguard switch. a few times already it suddenly stopped working and i had to take out the battery and restart my phone. after that then ok already. not sure if it is a manufacturing defect or a software problem. damn pissing off. if it persists, i will check with nokia centre later. conclusion - worth every cent of the 2480. however i would advice to get only from official distributors. not surprised there will be some problems later on that need to be rectified, since this is the very first generation of n97, and it is such a complex device. hope it helped! Added on June 7, 2009, 2:02 amif i'm not wrong, it wont be available for the next few weeks cos there has been some problems with the shipment. |

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Jun 9 2009, 03:27 PM) I was expecting thay as well. not many 5mp during that time i guess It's weird that the N95, the former flagship was 3k, with no touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard. Being having it for more than 5 months i think...
The only great thing about N97 is its have 32GB internal memory and support nHD display. Still a typical 5800 XM platform. Have hard keypad aside touch screen lo. This post has been edited by g88: Jun 9 2009, 11:18 PM |

Comparing the N97 and 5800 side by side, which one is faster? Or are they equal in terms of speed and responsiveness?
Anyone owning it can test? Both have the same amount of RAM, just that the N97 has a slightly higher clock speed for its CPU. SHould be interesting to see what Symbian was able to do with the N97. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Jun 9 2009, 11:36 PM |

Both N97 and 5800 utilize similar processor, just different clockspeed (can be changed via firmware updates).
