I'm currently using n97. got it few days ago.

all i can say is i'm very satisfied with it, nothing major to complain about. truly what a flagship device ought to be made out of. however, i have highlighted a few issues or complaints after using it for a few days. hope this mini review helps.

pros:
-great sliding mechanism. feels very solid and slick. slide motion is quite addictive.
-great interface, can match the iphone. very good cues in input methods and buttons.
-ability to run widgets is really cool.
-gorgeous web browser.
-responsiveness is satisfactory. i doubt it will remain this way if you max out the 32gb though.
-ability to customize your content display on the standby screen is awesome. ability to add applications and widgets onto the standby screen is pretty cool.
-if i'm not wrong, sound quality on this device is better than my previous n82. or maybe its just because of my mylar bijou earphones lol.
-qwerty keyboard is gorgeous. feels good and solid. very nice matte finish.
-can charge via usb. meaning i dont need to carry a charger around, just the usb cable. (like ipods)

cons:
-inability to scroll. in the menus, you cant swipe the touchscreen to scroll, like the iphone. you have to use the scroll bar at the side which is quite a pain. same goes for contacts. the scroll bar is too small and it isn't precise.
-camera's image quality is mediocre. or maybe i'm just too used to slr quality.
-position of the call and end call buttons abit weird. even weirder that they're touch buttons. would have preferred normal buttons cos you can feel and be sure of the response once you press it.
-position of the menu button abit weird too, also because its the only non-touch button on the front. nevertheless i'm sure these are all things that take some getting-used-to. shouldnt be a major issue.
-i'm currently experiencing some BIG issue with my keyguard switch. a few times already it suddenly stopped working and i had to take out the battery and restart my phone. after that then ok already. not sure if it is a manufacturing defect or a software problem. damn pissing off. if it persists, i will check with nokia centre later.

conclusion - worth every cent of the 2480. however i would advice to get only from official distributors. not surprised there will be some problems later on that need to be rectified, since this is the very first generation of n97, and it is such a complex device.

yeah , gotcha mine today , RM 2250 Avaxx set.
Tried Garmin but seems the version is not compatible as some of the touchscreen function is not working.
Bluetooth connectivity is not stable when pairing the file transfer with N95 8GB.
Will try it later as charging the phone now

Hm.. okay , for your information, you can get the phone at wangsa maju carrefour , the phone booth is just located in front dunkin donut ( food court area ) , you'll find two booth over there, the one is just located right beside the escalator.
By the way i think you'll need to place an order for it as they doesn't have ready stock, they get it from Avaxx directly so that's why the price was cheaper.

They also smart. Maybe they bundle in something else like BT headset or some music download, ringtones download, etc. and put higher price. Remember they earn more from accessories rather than handset.

1 stupid question, is the 2nd theme's background gray? I just realized it when I compared it with 5800, it is not really black. Maybe my eyes got affected by the severe haze, please clarify me on this.

Does anyone else think it is difficult to calibrate the compass? Why on earth do we have to swing it like crazy everytime we turn on the map? 

according to allaboutsymbian preview n97 qwerty keyboard doesn't have auto correction
mybe the owner can check 4 us

just check it for u, yes it have word prediction funtion at the input option.. ehehhe..

the text correction mode also have in the input settings.. 2 type: text as entered & suggested word..

Predictive text input = T9

I think all Nokia has this. If don't have, means is Nokla

Disable A-GPS. Slower satellite lock, but then, confirm no data/sms charges.

Menu -> Tools -> Connectivity -> GPS data ->Option -> Positioning Settings -> Disable/Uncheck Assisted GPS

as i understand, most of the plugin (for homescreen) i.e email, appointment, to do list is only available in E series. don't know this N97.
