Tokido gets owned by pin-up model Haruna Anno

P.S. He gave chance. Daigo, KSK and Mago in the background.

Ok.. more to serious stuff!

So not only Boxer has that super-armor bug... Abel and Gief too!

Anyone that has an attack with focus cancel properties can do that, I think.

I didn't check the video, but I think I know what you're talking about.

I tried practising that for the tourney, but I gave up on that quite easily.

It's not focus cancel, it's super armor. And to be able to execute it you need kara-timing. I think this opens a new window of possibilities. But for example Abel, why would we want to QCF+PP into Ultra (absorb 1 hit then kara to Ultra), when Ultras work fine alone (pass through fireballs, reversals, negates attacks, etc)? The distance gained is so small unlike kara throws which add range up close.

hmmm, interesting ... but rawfish ... i don't think the benefit of super armor property is anything like kara-throw ... it actually sort of hit confirm. For the example u provided with abel, just imagine abel is receiving a BnB block string from ryu/ken (jump in RH, low FW cancel into hadoken) this super armor seems to be very useful as it sort of interrupt the block string and ultra while ryu still recovering from hadoken, scary !!! Without super armor, i don't think abel is able to ultra thru that BnB block string...

and for gief, OMG ... that means he can ultra any pokes !!!

in conclusion, i believe the main gain is frame advantage rather than distance

Yes.. let's discuss! I find the super armor bug is something like parrying ala SF3:3S and should definitely provide frame advantage.. and is performed LIKE a kara throw. To the benefit of everyone (example = Boxer), it's like:

QUOTE
Charge B, F, B+PP (for EX Dash Punch), instant F+PPP for cancel into Ultra. The kara-like Ultra will ONLY come out if the 1st hit of the EX Dash Punch absorbs a hit e.g. fireball

Hence I'm not sure if someone can perform it as a hit confirmation due to the small frame window needed. Waitaminute... Mike I see your point. If it absorbs a non-fireball hit only then the Ultra will come out, instantly punishing the opponent's poke.

I can think of a use now, as a 'safety net' for Ultras:

By doing this, if the enemy pokes, their hit is absorbed by Super Armor thus gets punished by the Ultra, which would only come out in this situation. Some Ultras have weak startups, like Abel's Heartless. Scenario: Abel does wake up Ultra against Gief's lariat, the lariat wins. If Abel does wake up QCF+PP to kara Ultra, he absorbs the 1st lariat hit then punishes Gief with Ultra. The only drawback is if you fail to Ultra you will eat a hefty 2-hit lariat with counter damage. Theory only k??

My main thoughts: is it WORTH the effort/risk? For your example Mike, if you can perform the Super Armor bug against the ryu/ken's low FK > hadouken blockstring, you can simply use Ultra anyway... which would come out as a Reversal.

For Gief, does his Ultra lose to Akuma's HP dragon punch? If he can absorb the 1st hit and proceed to Ultra it will be a nightmare - and hard to execute too. Not sure if you need to use EX Green Hand or EX 360K (far) for the Super Armor....

hehe .... maybe bad example ... but i think u get my point, absorb poke then ultra with confirm hit is just God Like and to make thing WORST three of the MOST DAMAGing(in ULTRA sense) characters have it, be VERY afraid ahhaha !!! Bear in mind I didn't put into mind on the difficulty to pull out these moves, just discussing the probability of super armor usage and its benefit smile.gif

but i do believe, if the move is REALLY beneficial, it is confirmed that some fighters will master the move !!

I get what u mean. As a safety net for Ultras (like the lariat example above), it can be useful. For hit confirmation, too early to conclude anything but you need lightning reflexes (1-6 frame reaction timing). For random spam, it's godlike - imagine if the opponent blocks the EX move with armor just comes out. If he pokes and Armor activates.... bye bye sweat.gif

For neobita:

Interesting combos for your stylish needs smile.gif

Sorry, I'm no longer selling any and none of my friends are selling anymore. Stick blackout for most places.. even region, due to overwhelming demand after SF4 came out. I forecast this will be for quite sometime due to global demand too. If you play the wait-and-see game it may take (my speculation) an average of 3-4 months as HORI/Mad Catz provides stock first to big US-based retail chains like Amazon and Game Stop. Sad but logic.

I recommend if you are serious with this game and would like to prepare yourself for KOFXII and/or Tekken 6 this mid/end-year, import one in from Play-Asia if they have stock. If you see one selling in shops for RM500 below, you may just need to give in to their demands as their price hike is still acceptable, looking at the overall shortage situation and expensive shipping if purchased online.

Or if you just want any arcade stick with 6/8-buttons layout you always look for a PS2 stick and buy a PS3-to-USB converter at several IT chain stores. For PC sticks with USB ports, bear in mind Sony will most likely have no drivers for those peripherals.
