I know I have to pay to get the game.
I just don't know how to pay or get access to where I can get the game, cause PSN's not working for me. Maybe I'd better ask this question in the PS3 threads here. >_> |

I was expecting this page to be like filled with HDRemix discussion, only to find that there is even more about the SF4 tournament. XD
Anyway, just wanted to ask, how do I get my hands on this game? |

Anyone that has an attack with focus cancel properties can do that, I think.
I didn't check the video, but I think I know what you're talking about. I tried practising that for the tourney, but I gave up on that quite easily. |

QUOTE(rawfish @ Mar 11 2009, 09:19 AM) It's not focus cancel, it's super armor. And to be able to execute it you need kara-timing. I think this opens a new window of possibilities. But for example Abel, why would we want to QCF+PP into Ultra (absorb 1 hit then kara to Ultra), when Ultras work fine alone (pass through fireballs, reversals, negates attacks, etc)? The distance gained is so small unlike kara throws which add range up close. I didn't say it was a focus cancel, I said any attack that has focus cancel properties aka "can absorb one hit of anything that isn't throws, take damage from hit that heals over time." Not sure if super armour is in SF4, but in my experience that's always been more of a "auto block one hit" thing (eg: Sentinel in Marvel vs Capcom 2, Kyo's qcf + P in KoF, etc)I wanted to use it but doing it on a pad is nigh impossible for me. I fluked it once and I think Alvin asked me if that was a focus cancel to Ultra and I said I didn't know at the time. Is there risk reward for doing this? Yes, there is, though the timing is hard (kara timing as you said). What you get out of this is basically an option select, and you save meter. - When you do the glitch, for Balrog at least, you do NOT lose that first super meter for the EX. This means you can EX dash punch, absorb, supercancel (which should theoretically take 5 bars instead of 4) - If the opponent does not do an attack that hits you, you get the EX, if the opponent does, you automatically get the second move that you put in, whatever it was (EX, Super, Ultra), same rules apply, you don't lose that first EX bar, at least for Balrog It's definitely an advanced strat... ...and I definitely want to learn how to do it, if I keep with Balrog at least. |

You forget, it's an option select. If the guy does NOT do any move that hits, for Balrog at least, you will then dash in with dash straight/upper/etc and you're applying pressure. So say guy's staying back half a screen away, say Ryu, and you need to get in close and do damage. If you do EX Dash Upperto kara Ultra, whihc gets you one of the following: - If Ryu hits (fireball, low forward, whatever), you will Ultra and punish him. Consumes Ultra. - If Ryu doesn't hit, you get the safe EX Dash Upper and you're close and can do good damage or if you hit the EX Dash Upper. If hit, you can combo (low light kick to whatever), if blocked you're close in and safe from retaliation, if whiffed cause of crouch you can throw. Consumes that first meter. I'm not saying it's super useful, but you can apply it when needed. EDIT: Forgot, you're not using it to punish a spammer. It's more that "I need to get close because he's poking me a lot, so I need to do something that gets me close if he does nothing,a nd punishes him if he does something." Jab? Probably not. Jabs recover fast, most ultras have about 10 frames before they actually hit anyone.
Then again, it wouldn't be practical to do the glitch up close, too punishable. The example I illustrated was how to get close (outside jab range). Once you're close, go to town with jabs, overheads, crossups and throws. |

I just thought you're discarding the use of such a thing way too quickly, that's all.
Anyway, there is one use of this that I wish I could test for myself: Stuffing crossups. Absorb first hit, then by your second hit you should be facing the correct way to stuff it. Not sure if any character that has a move to come out fast enough to hit before the opponent has landed, though you can probably use it to smash them if they try to follow up their cross up combo. Ugh, Roll Cancel. So damn scary. |

how can I, used a character with no projectile, managed to corner guile?
Walk forward, trade or take the Sonic Boom hits, until he's at the corner. |

No, seriously, walk forward and aim for trades ALL THE TIME. Guile damage is pretty bad, so if you can just keep pushing him into the corner, it'll work out.
Might be better if you said what character you're using, then will have more specific advise. |

Got a link to the exact guide? I found a few but they were using just words to explain stuff, and I think visuals might help in my case.
Not that I plan to mod it anytime soon (money...) but I can at least savde the page for future reference. |

About the HRAP3 buttons, I didn't really find much of a difference in them...
...until I practised some MvC2, where I'm pressing buttons lightly like a madman and half the time it didn't come out because I'm not pressing them hard enough. |

I play MvC2 on computer, using NullDC (Dreamcast emulator). Since the HRAP3 is plug in and play for most comps, it's no problem. If someone brings a powerful laptop to outpost I can bring the game on my thumb drive.
