Hi everyone. I am about to purchase the PSP-3000 for my son. One question in my mind, are there any UMD movies available locally? If there is, where can I look at some?
Thanks in advance. Added on March 24, 2009, 11:44 amSorry one more question. The PSP-3000 sets sold locally, are they region 2 sets or region 3? I understand UMD movies are region locked. This post has been edited by ian2000: Mar 24 2009, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(pingping86 @ Mar 24 2009, 02:26 PM) huh... den, no need the 500.pbp file too...??? Patches are different from firmware updates. Here's my explanation on it.just put the update folder in game den just run the patch den can ady ah??? You've made a new firmware which runs pretty well. After a while, you realize that there are some very annoying bugs on it or you decide to add some features which would make the firmware much better than it already was. So, you just create an installer, that would flash the newer updated files to the older custom firmware files. In other words, the firmware would still function the same way apart from the minor changes. Hope that helps you Yes, just place the UPDATE folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME and run it. It would be done in a couple of seconds. Added on March 24, 2009, 2:42 pm QUOTE(ian2000 @ Mar 24 2009, 09:43 AM) Hi everyone. I am about to purchase the PSP-3000 for my son. One question in my mind, are there any UMD movies available locally? If there is, where can I look at some? I would not recommend you to buy a PSP3000 if you want to buy UMD movies. You should get either a hacked psp slim or a hacked psp fat. Why? Well, as you said, the region on UMD movies are locked, so if you have a Japanese region psp, and the UMD has a different region locked to it, it would not work on your unit. However, on custom firmware psp's, users would be able to switch between their regions in recovery mode and thus allowing UMD's to run without a problem. All thanks to Dark_AleX and his team. yeah, and running umd movies burns out your lenses fairly quickly.
watching umd movies are not recomended. since it reads from the disc every few seconds to keep up the buffering, unlike games, which reads & load a whole stage/area in game once a while. |

Thanks guys for the fast reply! Appreciate it. At the point of writing this reply, already taken the plunge in securing a blue PSP-3006. Decided agst using it for UMD movies. Instead will just convert movies to MP4 for viewing thru the PSP.

QUOTE(benwong88 @ Mar 25 2009, 12:55 AM) haha, mean ba***rdAdded on March 25, 2009, 6:31 am QUOTE(louisfjh @ Mar 25 2009, 12:43 AM) As benwong88 said, you most probably wouldn't want to make one, but if you still want to, it's not a big problem really. It's really easy especially with awesome Pandora tools these days.Requirements 1) A regular psp battery [ It would be much much better if it's an original one ] 2) A memory stick Pro Duo [ 1GB should work flawlessly. Avoid using huge sticks ] 3) A PSP unit with custom firmware on it. [ A homebrew capable unit ] How to create a Pandora's Battery - in brief 1) Download any battery creating tool from a trusted web site. [ I recommend Hellcat's Recovery tool. If you're on a fat unit with 1.50 kernel enabled, you can always use C+D's original Pandora creator. ] 2) Install the program, and create a Pandora's Battery on your psp which has custom firmware. 3) Done. How to create a Magic Memory Stick - in brief 1) Download a MMS creating tool off the internet. [ You can use computer GUI's like Rain's MMS creator, or you can just create on directly from your psp using the likes of DCv7 or DCv8. Any other DC version should work fine, but i like 7 and 8 best. ] 2) Install it however it should be done. 3) Done. Usage 1) Insert both the Pandora's Battery and the Magic Memory Stick into your unhacked/bricked/ or whatever psp. 2) Press the button combo, and boot it up. 3) Select anything in the menu, and have fun. Phew... that was a lot of typing.. lol. Hope that helps ya' This post has been edited by Playboy21: Mar 25 2009, 06:31 AM |

anyways even new original batteries are not usable, the best ones are still the psp1k batteries that came with the console. THAT is not easy to find. |
