I went from RM3xx coir tilam to Simmons fully imported. Didn't buy it because of the brand. In fact, didn't plan on buying any mattress at all. Was at a huge home fair when it was very early and just lay down on it. And I went lay down on a lot of mattresses in the fair, and circle back to buy the Simmons. Didn't buy it for the brand, but because of how it felt when I lay down on it. Plus it was the cheapest model in the lineup.

One key difference between the brands I listed (that I've experience myself) and affordable online e-commerce brands like Neckpro, Dr.Alstone (which I own) is the longevity and mattress support. I was blown away when I first lay down on brand new Neckpro mattress, asking myself wow, 10x cheaper yet still so supportive. Fast forward 2 years it has lost all support -- the mattress doesn't appear sunk. No indentation but the spring coils have lost its resistance and doesn't offer any support, and when you lie down on it, its lumpy in certain spots and you sink randomly.

understand that. that's why i want to spend more on a good mattress since i love to sleep a lot and also take care of my back but still got limit to my budget la. haha

testing time all mattress also seems nice cause i never slept on good mattress before and just test awhile. can't really get the real feel
that's why need pro recommendation from existing customer which is good/bad

Getha for sure. I had been sleeping on my 10 years old getha bed since 2014 and it is still in perfect condition, never sink or anything.

Ever since I change to getha I never have any back pain issue.

Any problem with the rubber smell. Is the surface get hot. I am considering to get a rubber mattress. My king koil already more than 12 years.

Latex on mattress u won’t smell it even it is brand new. But if it is pillow that is of latex u can smell more Becos it is closer to u.

I do not feel my getha mattress hot. It is ok.

Both gives good initial impression of lying on it when it’s new. For the money paid… can’t complain.

If you bought a queen size my advice would be to sleep on different sides of the mattress and rotate it frequently.

I had tenant who lie down on Neckpro and Alstone… to them they feel both are better than those super cheap foam ones. You get what you pay for… no more no less.

Vono would have something in that range with spring. Vono probably last longer than online brands. Manufactured by Hilding Anders Malaysia… a big group. Same family as Slumberland. But Vono has its own technology and history.

Many e-commerce “brands” are just that, a brand. They don’t make their own products. Deduct out their profit margin and there ain’t much budget left to make the actual product.

Edit: how’s your Neckpro after 3 years? Still feel as good as you remember on day 1?

Yeah I can vouch for Vono. Had it in my guest room for the past 3 years and still very sturdy. Went for it due to its affordable price range but was surprisingly durable, and quite comfortable too.

i rotate every 3-4months, and sleep each side randomly, so the middle sagging is not noticeable, just that the side of the mattress can see that its starting to bulge outwards
recent months just feel weird, so thinking is it mattress problem or pillow problem haha

any place to recommend for trying Vono with experienced salesperson?

Mattressdepot in Kajang.
I bought my King Koil from him. He’s not a very sales-like sales person. Think of him as an assistant to find what you like.

He’s not pushy. He just wants to find the mattress that suits you.

Hi sifus,

I am thinking of buying mattress for renting out room for 5 years, which mattress should I consider if I want to attract tenant? Should I buy cheap mattress then change every 1 or 2 years? Or more worth it to buy a good one that can last 5 years e.g. Getha?

it doesn't help much because it does not have the medical proven certificate.

concern about the mattress comfort feeling first, ignore about the leaflet features.

Hi Mattress Sifus,

I'm just starting out to buy my first mattress after my current one which I've been using for more than 10 years is giving me back pains.

I usually sleep on my back and side, I'm about 85kg and 1.8m tall.
Looking for a queen size bed.

I'm not too sure what works for me yet but I've come across these three that seems to feel quite nice for me...
Hope someone here can give me a feedback on these 3 or recommend something else:

1. Getha - Green Valley
2. Serta - Monarch
3. Hilker - Emperor Stately
