Looking for the following:

1st Mattress
Budget: 2-5K
Size: King
Firmness/Material: Older folks who need firm mattress, their current place uses pure coconut fibre which was 1.2k for super single FibreLux. Wondering if there are better brands for them.

2nd Mattress
Budget: 2-5K (or above if necessary)
Size: King
Firmness/Material: Prefer firm but maybe slightly less hard, possibly coconut fibre + latex, but don't want it to sink down after prolonged use.

Would be grateful if can get advice or where to look. I looked at FibreStar, the lower range are very cheap (<2K) but they won't let us test the mattresses and we are not sure of the quality of the firmness and product. When we went to Starling to check out Fibrestar it's all premium that goes from 6K-10K way above budget and the salesman was a bit lansi to us

Maybe you can try Kingkoil Extended Life series mattress.

budget 2-5k is too broad. best if u can set 2k or 2.5k or 3k...etc

shops in the mall wont sell u cheap, they need margin to cover their rental and expenses.

Not knowing there's such informative thread here, i posted in another thread asking for advice on buying a new mattress as we're moving to a new house. Did a bit of research after some of the seniors here posted napure brand, but it's way too expensive for me...

Due to our financial constraints, are there any cheaper alternatives, like within the range of RM1.5k?
As we need to spurge more on other costly necessities first, we can only afford to have a lower - mid range priced mattress.

Would appreciate any advice given. happy.gif happy.gif

Main criterias for a good mattress to me is firm enough with good  back support, then it won't deform easily and the good quality of he mattress can last long (at least >5 years).

All this while has been using spring mattress, then heard from friend who has been using getha full latex for > 10years and still in good shape and serve them well, that's why trigger me to look for latex mattress now.

To me, latex base, layer, hybrid or what is not really critical as long as the mattress can serve the above mention purposes.

I need to get a new mattress and came across something like a hybrid mattress, it's a combination of latex and spring. Any idea how does a hybrid mattress work?

It is worth to spend an additional few hundred to get a decent mattress as this is where you will spend 1/3 of your life everyday. Top up a bit you can get Vono brand mattress at 2k++, or you can try those online based mattress like Joey etc.

You can try to take a look at Neckpro (their official online store in on Lazada). I bought one (Neckpro Rouleaux; 10 inch thick, Queen size with pocket springs) a few month ago for less than RM1k (after promo). It is quite good for the price. Very comfortable.

Hi sifus,

Looking to get a mattress for when i move into my new place and hoping for some recommendations please.

- Am predominantly a side sleeper
- Around 75kg
- Prefer soft-med mattress feel (something like hotel feel would be ideal)
- Willing to spend up to rm15k
- Looking for Queen size
- Not too familiar with mattress material, but ideally something that wont sag and lose support after a while

always keep your mattress clean. always use mattress protector.

use any high suction power vacuum will help to remove dust mites.

fabric sofa is way more dirty than room mattress though.

Hi Sifus,

I'm looking for King size mattress, prefer medium firm, side sleeper. Budget within 5k. I'm used to those multiple layer mattress with latex/foam on top and pocket spring at the bottom.

My biggest complain is how the top layer always sag very quickly.

Can anyone recommend a mattress in that range where it is soft enough for side sleeper but not so soft that it wont sag (hopefully 4 or 5 years)
