But i seldom use Petronas, currently using Standard Chartered Saadiq with have 7% rebate on petrol in all station 5x TP only applicable to all MBB Petronas CC holders. QUOTE(b00n @ Jan 6 2009, 11:07 PM) yes.... Am in the banking industry..... My guess right then. BTW ... I heard AffinBank's CS is only accessible during normal business hours. They are available 24 hours only for cases where you lost your card and need to block/cancel card. Anyone who holds this card can confirm this information ? QUOTE(b00n @ Jan 6 2009, 11:49 PM) haha....is it that obvious? I only gave lots on infor in regards to CCRIS..... btw, am in what they call risk department. Yeah .. it was very much appreciated. I find it annoying that banks keep their clients credit rating secret even from the owner of the information itself ! At least we are entitled to our own information right ? I understand the information can be misued but it can also be used to educate the public on credit worthiness. At least they won't be so quick to create a new debt. Just today, my neighbour got into trouble coz his friend defaulted on his housing loan, he knew coz the banks started to get tight on him - finding it out the hard way. At least banks should have the courtesy to tell him that he will be penalised (credit wise) for someone else action (not his fault). He can take action to sort things out with his friend. It's unfortunate if an innocent party gets penalised. Good action on your part.

QUOTE(bluffy83 @ Jan 7 2009, 01:10 AM) Just one question Guru's can someone do an online transaction just by using our 16 digit number in front of our card? i mean without our security number. Is it possible? Not really .... 99.9 % of the sites will also ask for the expiry date for the card. I believe they will need at least 3 items from the following cc digit, CVV, expiry date and name on card. Just the 16 digit number ? Unlikely .... but be careful with a little bit of social enginnering tricks, you can be conned to reveal the rest of the information. (e.g The Mastercard/VISA center scam to so called verify your cc)

QUOTE(cenkudu @ Jan 7 2009, 04:08 PM) just got annoying call from MBF. I've cancelled the card few days ago. They insist me to keep the card and mention that I can't cancel because I have paid the renewal fee before. She said there is no way for me to cancel the card. They want to send new card to my home until I scold her that I will ask BNM whether I can cancel or not the card. They offer me 2 cash vouchers if I keep the card until another 8 months. but I'm not happy with MBF so I will not take anything. Just ignore all this cheap tactics by MBF. I too got conned before by MBF and they tell me that it is very difficult to apply for MBF card and once cancel very hard to apply again. I grew out of these tricks these days. If any bank does this to me, the more my urge to cancel the card. Added on January 7, 2009, 6:17 pmQUOTE(s0ts0tdandelii0n @ Jan 7 2009, 05:44 PM) UOB Visa Money Transfer is using credit card to do the money transfer? or i need a credit card but im using my account to do money transfer? If I'm not mistaken ... it is using your cc to transfer money to another party (within UOB and another cc holder) who is located in Singapore I think. Can't remember whether it applies to another user within Malaysia as well. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 7 2009, 06:17 PM

I'm not asking for refund so why they need to cheat saying that by paying the fees I obliged to stay with them. Anyway, for does holding HSBC amanah card. what does it means by monthly Management charge of RM 2700? Just leave them be lah. Perhaps if they lose enough customers then they will sort themselves out. What's your question on HSBC Amanah card ? And a monthly fee of RM2700 ????? Please reconfirm bro

The latest news from TheStar today. Many have the forummers have spoke about these scams where they call you up and ask details (or pretend) to know details of your card. Banks should know your details and will never ask your personal info from you. PERIOD Confront the caller if they ask these suspicious information. QUOTE(cenkudu @ Jan 10 2009, 05:19 PM) normally how long will the bank 'examine' our credit record through CCRIS? just the current record (past 3-4 months) or throughout entire life. aiyoo, suppose if we have bad record payment previously and we have resolve it, should be fine.. haha just my opinion Depends from bank to bank I guess. I know of a case where the person had unwanted bad record coz he was the guarantor of a friend who defaulted on loans. Loans was cleared and the record amended (but not removed due to BNM 12 months requirement), banks are occasionally asking him why that record exist and want proof that he was cleared.

QUOTE(truth_seeker_09 @ Jan 10 2009, 06:01 PM) anyone using Hong leong credit card? i read from the brochure they send. they got say something like spend RM50 get Rm1. It's a rebate system. However it is very complicated and need to SMS. (Don't forget to factor the SMS cost as well) I'd prefer if the rebate system is unconditional and would be rebated back to the cc user without needing additional intervention.

Citibank sucks... they are sending SMS to me which is not mean for me! but my previous number owner. 1st is said my credit card is being sent via poslaju which come with ref number. im just called today, and the poslaju CS said, the mail is being collected by XXX XXX. so malu... then 2nd SMS is saying im just purchase airline ticket online using citibank card. but im not using it. immediately call Citibank CS to verify, saying tht SMS is mean for previous owner of my hp number. blodddy hell Citibank!!! I think Citibank quality of service has dropped over the years. I can't remember they were this bad a few years back. (My personal opinion) Malaysian cc customer base too big, Citibank in US in deep s*** and huge job cuts - a good combo for declining quality of service. Other foreign banks in Malaysia have overtaken Citibank and are better @ making their customers happy.

Bro cHipoLatas GHz mentioned about a 10% rebate for the conventional HSBC plat, is there such a thing ? I've used the card, CS is good and I have no complaints about them. The only thing is that card priviledges are very standard. For example, overseas and local use will get RM1=1 point. Other banks are already offering between 2x-5x points for overseas spending for the plat customers. Of course the Amanah card provides 1.0% rebates on overseas spending but you don't get any points at all. To simplify it, It's one or the other, HSBC don't give out both points and rebates on their cc products. Some of the newer cc products have both you see. Added on January 11, 2009, 8:19 amQUOTE(Reventon @ Jan 10 2009, 11:55 PM) Hsbc rejected my application once, never try to apply after that. Bro Reventon is right. If a bank rejects you (or if you are unhappy with a particular bank), dont bother if you know you can qualify elsewhere. Move on. This post has been edited by hye: Jan 11 2009, 08:19 AM
