Can this player play VCD (.dat) files as well? I am thinking of copying all the old Karaoke VDCs into one folder.

nordingh, dat is a mpeg1 correct, but DAT should has some changes in the header compare to 'actual' mpeg1, in order to be able to played inside VCD player.
I am not sure, and cannot test (I do not have any more VCD dat) on WDTV wherther it will work by renaming. anyway, this was what I used many years ago for my VCD files. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/vcdgear This post has been edited by Maniac: Jul 8 2009, 02:45 AM |

Too lazy to convert, especially with so many old VCDs. Just copy all to Hard Disk and use with WD player. Portable karaoke machine This post has been edited by Ngto: Jul 8 2009, 01:13 PM |
