I must admid that not all media works 100% correctly. However, after the latest upgrade I did not encounter any lame flicks.

As far as quality. I use the pana 42px80 (comparable to the pv80) and it works like a gem, sharp as hell. My tv upscales the output to 1080p (like) when I play a 1080p file on the wd hdtv. I see difference compared to 720p, so I think that something happens

Anyways, I did not notice any inconsistent quality yet, and I have watched many formats so far...

Improved media playback and navigation

Yes, thru WDTV, but it quite hard to find exact song or movie you want to play as you know ipod stored it media file in short random filename.

For Folder Thumbnails:

Music:
1. Display folder.JPG (the image file must be named “folder.JPG” or thumbnail will not function)
2. If no folder.JPG file is found, display the first album art image (.MP3 with embedded..JPG)
3. If no album art is available, display the first .JPG in the folder

Photo:
1. Display folder.JPG
2. If no folder.JPG file is found, display the first photo in the folder

Video:
1. Display folder.JPG
2. If no folder.JPG file is found, display the first cover art (.MP4 with embedded .JPG)
3. If no cover art is available, display the first photo in the same folder as the video to be played

For File Thumbnails:

Music:
1. Display album art (.MP3 file with embedded .JPG)
2. If no album art is available, display the image file with the same name as the audio file to be played. (for example, song.wav will be associated with song.JPG)

Just put a .jpg in the movie folder.

for movie make the jpg file name same as movie, like srt file. For folder it will take the first jpg in the folder. The best thumbnail jpg size is 120 x 180

HDMI version is one thing.

HDMI carries both video and audio in 1 cable.

You need a high speed and high bandwidth HDMI cable to experience a smooth HD experience on your LCD/Plasma and 7.1 surround sound at the same time. All this in 1 HDMI cable.

So, if you get a al-cheapo HDMI cable, even it states v1.3, you will not achieve the above fully.
