Glad to hear this firmware updates. Hopefully one day it can play RMVB files and this is perfect.

But I still have not get my RM360 WD TV from Thundermatch.... Called them earlier that it will only arrive first week on Jan 09 instead of end December 08.

Really cannot wait to try out my HD collections. cry.gif

boycott this thundermatch!  vmad.gif
at pcfair selling at rm399. but i guess some brothers manage to convince them to sell at rm360
*
Are you sure?

The flier stated RM360 only for WDTV. If you bought it for RM399, show them the flier and ask for refunds.

I got it for RM360 only but need to wait, hopefully can get it by next week. sad.gif

this wdtv playin well with my .mkv's....thanks ppl who help me yesterday... notworthy.gif
usin popcorn to remux my mkvs - to solve my dts problem... icon_idea.gif
*
What is your dts problem?

I just receive my unit on New Year from Thundermatch, after waiting 2 weeks.

After flash with new firmware, the units work perfectly well except .TS formats. Some of my .TS works perfectly with DTS MA HD, but other cannot play.

Tried out MKV files with AAC,AC3,DTS5.1,DD5.1 with no sound quality problem.

A great unit to have, hopefully it can play RMVB in future. rclxm9.gif

just bought the wd tv and finally i can watch the HD movie with my pana lcd tv.. but no sound from some of the .mkv file of mine.. from the discussion found out need a fiber optical cable to do so..  does anyone own a Panasonic SC-PT465 home theater, cause i got one, if can get sound by connecting the wd tv to the HT i would get one of the cable..
*
My experience on WDTV using optical cable is great!!!

Everyone should use optical cable if they are using amplifier or home theatre system that support optical input. This can play digital sound format like DTS or Dolby Digital, even DTS HD MA.

The optical output sound quality is better even in Stereo format compare to using RCA jack. Optical can play both digital and stereo but RCA only can play Stereo sound only, not digital.

where does it say it can play DTS-Master audio?

it's not in the WD specs also?
Music - MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV/PCM/LPCM, AAC, FLAC, Dolby Digital, AIF/AIFF, MKA

it can play HD video no doubt, but where it says it can play lossless Audio formats like TrueHD and DTS master audio..??
*
Let me check the sound format in my .TS file tonight.

Hope to clear this doubt out. smile.gif

toslink - Digital audio bitstream.
Originally limited to 48 kHz at 20 bits. Extended to support all modern formats, except Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD and DTS HD audio streams.

hdmi - LPCM, Dolby Digital, DTS, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, MPCM

imagine if WD TV could deliver audio through HDMI --- any hacker outhere anyone ? biggrin.gif
*
Hahaha.....

My HDMI has audio from WDTV. But only stereo sound output from my Sharp LCD. I do not have a HDMI input Amplifier to test it out.

you forgot to mention how many channels supported by toslink, I doubt it will support 7.1 48kHZ 20bits audio.. at best effort is dual channel.
*
5.1 should be no problem for Toslink.

Actually, for 29" CRT, you don't even need WDTV...just normal AVI/DIVX player will do....The screen will be too small to see any difference.
*
29inch is very good for RMVB.

No need use WD TV.
