Because I notice amazon offer send as gift and the option to not show the price invoice on packaging…

No tax for computer accessories like graphics card and as for PS4 there is duty fee 10% + 10% sales tax if you declare it. Declaring as a gift might complicate your shipment, "Gift" meaning no value but shipping cost say like US$50 what happen is that Customs will confirm whether the item is taxable or not. If it falls under a taxable category, then even if it's a gift, you'll still be taxed.

If your package ship with courier service like DHL or FeDex, they will be your broker agent dealing customs tax for you. If you ship using normal international mail like say USPS, you can appoint pos malaysia as your agent with a fee RM50 (not including your tax/dutyfee), therefore you or anyone who receiving the shipment don't have to drive to where the package is in holding.

Oh so does that mean the reason why Fedex or DHL shipping fees is high is because its pre calculated for the tax before hand ?

Sorry didn't mention earlier that they don't pre calculate tax for your item but they do offer this option to the sender. Reason they expensive most probably due to they deliver within guarantee delivery date, for example if you ship with DHL, their employee is one deliver on your doorsteps not pos laju or others.

If you ship with USPS, pos laju will deliver to your doorstep therefore kinda hard to guarantee you shipment will deliver within estimate day.

*DHL handling fee is 2% or minimum RM20 not including customs tax (I use their service cause cheaper than Fedex if I ship package from US).

Ah okay thx for the info. Though Amazon uses what courier? Ive been trying to see what they use but they only show their express or normal shipping. Nothing bout UPS or fedex or DHL. If they offer total shipping including tax that would be helpful.. guess i gotta try then.

From my past purchase, for express they ship using UPS or Fedex if domestic as for international if not mistaken USPS and yeah they don't give option to choose which courier you want want to ship with. Try check with their live chat about this I could be wrong.

No tax if not mistaken, do stated in commercial invoice as camera case or camera accessories. Tariff code can be use: 9001.90 100, 9002.20 100 or 9002.90 100 (taken from Malaysian Customs website).

No tax for computer accessories or computer use, ask seller to put as computer monitor in commercial invoice.

Hi all experienced members in importing goods from other country, I have a shipment coming in via DHL which are all vinyl stickers. The commodity/tariff code used in the invoice is 3919.00.0000. I can't seem to find this code in our Malaysian Customs site, general code of 3919 is there but there's nothing for 3919.00.0000. Will this be taxable and how much?

Any possible ways to appeal for tax exemption or lower tax/duties if it is taxable?

Is this based on ethylene-vinyl acetate? If so no tax for it but if not try contact customs call center - 03-78067200 for the exact tariff code, tell them its a sticker and can't find it on their website. By the way, did seller put the code 3919 00 000 on the commercial invoice?

DHL will contact you for approval to make pre payment for tax once reach malaysia and if you get the correct code from customs CS, ask DHL staff to resubmit the form to customs for revaluation. As for tax exemption, again check with customs call center.

Yes, it is stated 3919.00.0000 in the commercial invoice by the company. In the description of goods they have stated it as vinyl stickers. After searching around, it seems that not all countries have this tariff code. I guess I will wait for DHL to contact then since I believe by using DHL's service, they will handle everything including if it's being held up at customs for tax etc.

I check on duty calculator for vinyl sticker under malaysia, they using 4911.99.990 = 20% duty fee. Yeah DHL will contact if you need to pay custom fee.

hi, im planning to get some skincare products from overseas for business purposes.

how much tax involves (import, sales tax, or any other tax), i will need to pay?

If the products never been sold in Malaysia, what I should I do? Do I need to send any samples to examine before I bring into the country?
