Guys, I never bought anything from other countries before, need some help.
I will be buying R/C Helicopter from China (or maybe Hong Kong, not really sure), 1 unit only. Will I be taxed for that? Or do I need to declare anything? How to declare??
The delivery is free via "Registered Air Mail", but will there be any extra charges from our courier here?

And when I proceed to checkout from the website, it has an optional space to fill something in.
CODE
Need a low value invoice for your local custom clearance? Or other special instructions? Please write down the request here

What's that for? Should I fill in something?

I know if u import a phone u will be taxed but what if somebody is sending me a phone as a gift? Will I still be taxed?

is there any custom tax calculator for malaysia custom?

cant seems to find any.

it's hard to predict the additional cost for custom tax, if too expensive might as well dont buy.

any input?

1 more cute question to ask:

what's the different in custom duty/tax if

1.your friend/family ship t-shirt to you from US or

2. you buy t-shirt online from US

You could use dutycalculator.com but they only provide 5 free calculation

I shipped a shaver from US using DHL and based on http://tariff.customs.gov.my/ code 8510 10 000 or anything that start from code 8510 for hair removing product, there's no duty fee only sales tax 10% need to be paid. When I received the package Monday from DHL on tax invoice I being charged 20% on duty fee and 10% sales tax.

I check the code that they use for the shaver its 3926 90 990 (others), I clearly stated on the commercial invoice as Braun Shaver, called up DHL about this and they insist that I need to pay for that 20% duty fee. Clearly they put a wrong HS code for my item.

And DHL rep said to I need to meet up with customs to get this solve. Does anyone claim any refund on duty fee from customs before?

It's the same but most shops will not mark down the price/as gift for you. Also important to use the right HS code that determines the tax rate payable.
