Notes:
Go check at http://whatismyipaddress.com
If you get IP Address at 58.27.x.x, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!

My Solutions?
1. REMOVED

2. REMOVED

3. Change your DNS. (My brother changed his DNS service and he get to run his rapidshare. I don't know either it's true or not... but worth a try right?)

4. Change to P1, or any other broadband services EXCEPT Maxis and Celcom Broadband. (This is the most dulan way as you need to go thru Screamyx)

5. Go out from this country as dunno what guy said "You tak suka, Keluar!"

Don't ask any answered Question Please!!!

Now they put everyone behind proxy:
The proxy host has ip address 58.27.105.134
The proxy server has announced itself as 1.1 Jaguar5k02 (jaguar/3.0-11)

Is it just misconfiguration or what?

Great

At first I tried , I didn't face anything. After couple of refreshes , the port 80 IP default backs to TMNut's IP. I think they are using dynamic proxy. Uh thats really bad

Seems like it doesn't work anymore for me sweat.gif

Each time you type the MU verification code then it refreshes ask you to key in a new verication code. Endless loop but never get to download.

Wow. Just wow.

Everyone should google up APNIC allocation policies and make your own conclusions on what portable and non-portable means in this context. Sheesh. doh.gif

oh yeah: who's proxy IP's are those ? they're in the Streamyx range anyway.

Portable Assignments
Customer addresses independent from ISP
+ Keeps addresses when changing ISP
Bad for size of routing tables
Bad for QoS: routes may be filtered, flap-dampened

Non-portable Assignments
Customer uses ISP’s address space
+ Must renumber if changing ISP
Only way to effectively scale the Internet

Right? No? rclxub.gif
Did I just screw up?

Hi, I followed your instructions (used a manual proxy in Firefox as 218.111.109.67@80), and on the http://www.megaupload.com/premium/es/? page I see three similar IP addresses. However, Rapidshare still says that someone with my IP address is already downloading a file (58.27.105.130). Is there any way to bypass this?

It must be the same 3.

I haven't tried on rapidshare yet.

but for megaupload, just change the port to 800

I tried changing the proxy to both 118.107.232.254 and 219.93.178.162 (with port 3128), and I could not even browse the rapidshare page with both of them. In the http://www.megaupload.com/premium/es/? page I see three same IP addresses. If I use port 80 it reverts back to TMNet's proxy.

Great, first they throttle our Torrents, then they take our Rapidshare away. What's next?

Holy shit !

Najis team is making the move !

This proxy is not just to stop us from downloading. Next they will "help us" by filtering out the things that they don't want us to see.

Holy shit !

For now?

Methinks what you just experienced is a case of "proxy testing", that means, it's in TMNet plan.

Not a good sign, man.

"Portable" means TM, the owner of the IP block, can move it to another network.

It has nothing to do with you and has nothing to do with your issues here.

It means that this networking forum for the most part lacks factual information, and many of the (mis)informed posts are based on hearsay and pure guesswork.

It doesn't matter (mis)informed posts or pure guesswork. Fact is it will mentioned that your IP address 58.27.105.130 is currently downloading a file. That ip does not belongs to me and i'm not currently downloading any file. And i've checked those that do not have this problem willl have the status ALLOCATED PORTABLE.

TMNet stealing Thailand's IP??

Wow !

I ran a check on TM's IP, and found out that it's using Arpanet's IP. That's the Department of Defense of USA !

If TMNet keep doing this, don't be surprise if one day a HARM missile hit TM's datacenter.

IP 218.208.x.x is still assigned non portable

Added on November 5, 2008, 11:02 pm

But the user assigned with Portable can download without problems? How to explain that?
*
It's a coincidence.

When TM applies to APNIC for IP blocks, they ask for either portable or non-portable space. They are a large national ISP, so whether they get portable or non-portable doesn't make much difference in this context.

At one point they applied for block X, and ticked the box to request portable space. They put block X into service and configured their routers to handle it.

Later they applied for block Y, and did not tick the box to request portable space. They put block Y into service and configured their routers to handle it.

Block X and block Y were configured at different times, probably by different people, and probably on different equipment. All these factors (time, staff, equipment) may be significant to whether or not block X performs better than block Y. The portability of the allocation block is a red herring and has nothing to do with anything.

I just found out i also have the same problem.........................

This is against our rights as consumers. People lets do something by complaining to MCMC. Please join me! The more people complain, the more they can do about it.

if we keep thinking we can bypass this, TM will find other ways and we need even more solutions, the best way is complain and get them in trouble

Have you heard... CORRELATION DOES NOT IMPLY CAUSATION. You can find patterns anywhere if you look hard enough for it. If I sneeze while you jump, does that mean my sneeze happened due to your jump? Think about it wink.gif Anyway, portable/non-portable allocations are described on the APNIC website, so don't take our word - convince yourself.

Your Rapidshare problems are half to do with TMNet's proxy (as browsers come from a small pool of IP addresses) and half to do with Rapidshare's policies (disallowing multiple clients from the same IP). Tough luck.

Mediafire download system (for non-premium user) is like this, once the user click the download link, mediafire will store your browser (cache or w/e) so that you can only download it once.

I don't know how long do you have to wait till you can you download the file back after it's been clicked. However, if you want to download the file back, just simply use another browser if the one your using doesn't work.

PS: I don't know if clearing all your cache will overcome that stupid mediafire looping, why not try? smile.gif

The problem is the ip of the proxy keep changing... 58.27.105.x where x is a variable of 130 to 138

I think you check my ip would be 58.27.x.x

Can anyone confirm they can download from rapidshare? I got this error when tried downloading. Reset coupled of times and it's still same:

The download session has expired. Please click here to start the download again.

Possible reasons:

* The download takes to long to be saved.
* For this download, in the background your Internet Service Provider has assigned a new IP address. If you are for example an AOL customer, or use a similar Service Provider, please try to use a different browser.

If this problem persists to exist, you may want to purchase a Premium Account. As Premium users are not checked against their IP address, this problem will not occur. Or your internet connection is too slow to download the complete file within the session time.

Another way of TMNut is cheating is that when your download speed shows 50kbps actually it's not the case. My modem light blinks for a short period of time then it stopped. The download speed from 50kbps will drop to 6kbps then to 0kpbps. Then it will restart itself to download up to 50kbps. Rinse and repeat. To download a 100MB file normally it takes around half an hour but it takes up to more than an hour sometimes.

I encounter weird behaviour with rapidshare. Large file download still work but if the file is <100kB, it will say session expired.

This is happening in my area as well. You get high speed for a second or less and your speeds drop to almost nil and goes back to the previous speed. Happens even with Microsoft, nVidia, ATI, Akamai server downloads.

So, I make sure it was late midnight to do this.  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif

I go to rapidshare, download 1st file.
Then I try to download the second file from rapidshare. I kept on refreshing the ip to make sure it change, then i click free user.
Test my luck.

So, now, I end up with 2 downloads simultaneously.

For those under 115.x.x.x IPs, your IP is slow because your IP is under core IP development.

Therefore, I can deduce that they are doing their "upgrading" exercise to put you guys under 58.27.x.x IP's.

So, be prepared.

I think this "feature" is not only applicable to consumer, but also to business users as well. My company's has a few static IP address but for some reason the IP address on the other end changes, though it's not changed to 58.27.x.x but to 219.x.x.x as far as I can remember.

Can someone verify this for business users as well?

I'm getting this shit again:

The download session has expired. Please click here to start the download again.

Possible reasons:

* The download takes to long to be saved.
* For this download, in the background your Internet Service Provider has assigned a new IP address. If you are for example an AOL customer, or use a similar Service Provider, please try to use a different browser.

If this problem persists to exist, you may want to purchase a Premium Account. As Premium users are not checked against their IP address, this problem will not occur. Or your internet connection is too slow to download the complete file within the session time.

And my ip address is 58.27.xxx.xxx

My friend is also affected sweat.gif

Can someone enlightened me how does this affect us?

When i went to http://whatismyipaddress.com/, the website show my ip as 58.27.105.134.

But my IP address is different in my router. From my understanding all our traffic will go through this ip address 58.27.105.134.
But so far it haven't give me any problem yet. I still can dl from MU and RS.

I will only be pissed off if I get banned from a certain imageboard because of the proxy. Luckily so far it hasn't happen.

There's nothing you can do about it, RS & MU is legal file hosting site but those files you download is it legal? TM not stupid, they know when we online, monitoring all those files we download and they see everything we do online. If you shoot them they got record and can file you illegal download lawsuit. Best is just cancel Streamyx and use P1 WIMAX.

For those under 115.x.x.x IPs, your IP is slow because your IP is under core IP development.

Therefore, I can deduce that they are doing their "upgrading" exercise to put you guys under 58.27.x.x IP's.

So, be prepared.
*
Fark! Speedtest.net show my IP on 115 range with Core IP shit as ISP. Since they implement the 115 IP to me i can't browse www.warez-bb.org

Anyone else facing that problem? I don't want to be proxified with shity speeds vmad.gif

DHT (Distributed Hash Table, technical explanation) is an addition to certain BitTorrent clients that allows them to work without a tracker. What this means is that your client will be able to find peers even when the tracker is down, or doesn't even exist anymore. It allows the swarm to continue as normal without a tracker. You can also host torrents without a tracker.

In other words, steeeeemyx blocks all the trackerz.

I think this thread will be legendary.

FYI, the only option you guys have now is...

1. Change your DNS. (My brother changed his DNS service and he get to run his rapidshare. I don't know either it's true or not... but worth a try right?)
2. Get a hosting + dedicated IP like me and set up a proxy. (This is the most cost expensive way to download but it's the best and the fastest. I maxed out my 1Mbps speed at 1.8Mbps when I use proxy of my own server.)
3. Change to P1, or any other broadband services EXCEPT Maxis Broadband. (This is the most dulan way as you need to go thru Screamyx)
4. Go out from this country as dunno what guy said "You tak suka, Keluar!"

Just my 4 cents.

Streamyx is now implementing a transparenxy proxy to Streamyx home-package users which will be a problem to get the dynamic public IP address to be assigned to registered dynamic DNS service like DynDNS. I am working a way to overcome this annoyance. The real pain is is not just TM: some ISPs in other countries have implemented transparent proxies for quite some time already.

Another way to look into this is TM may be upgrading their infrastructure which affects some users. Therefore, to avoid disruptions, the affected users will be channeled/redirected through a transparent proxy for a temporary measure until they are reconnected the usual way again. If the proxy servers are overwhelmed with a lot of traffic, they will crawl like baby.

If they want to do this for long-term, they need to make sure the proxies perform at acceptable level. Proxy caching for millions of home Streamyx users are not cost-effective in short-term.

One of the concerns on ISP side is the proxy cache placement management. One solution is provided in this link:

I must say that I am angered with this situation. Not only do I get packet drops and corrupted files when downloading drivers, but now I can't even download mods hosted on major file sharing services.

If this keeps up, I won't be surprised that we can only surf text only sites in the future.

I dont think they can do this to us.

It is stated we will get dynamic IP address for home user and static IP for Business user.

If this happen in any other country, I bet they would be sued to death.

To buysell, i not sure you aware of p1 max Fair Usage Policy or not
http://www.p1.com.my/wimax/aspx/wimax_faq_ref.aspx#Usage

1.43 DOES P1 IMPOSE A LIMIT ON ITS CUSTOMERS’ DATA USAGE?
• There is a limit of twenty (20) Gigabytes (GB) of date usage per month (upload and download) for P1’s standard fixed broadband service. Our customers’ usage is monitored on a daily basis and the usage is calculated based on the total usage for the last 30 days. Based on normal usage trends, most customers will not exceed this limit, unless large volumes of data are constantly uploaded and downloaded, or peer to peer and file sharing applications are used. As a comparison, using 20 Gigabytes of data per month is equivalent to downloading approximately more than 6,000 songs per month. This limit is set in addition to the Fair Usage Policy to ensure the best possible experience in terms of speed, quality and reliability for our customers.

1.44 WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF MY USAGE EXCEEDS 20GB THAT MONTH?
• If your data usage per month exceeds 20 Gigabytes, your broadband connection speed will be given lower priority during periods of high traffic usage and network congestion, and you may experience lower than average speed.

Havent checked here lately. This thread enlighten me on whats going on with StreamyX as Im having drop connection every now and then. No wonder files sharing site like Rapidshare and FileFront is slow to a crawl. But no such problem with other site like MediaFire and SaveFile.

Honestly, I can tolerate anything as long as I get to download my fav TVB drama. I dont care what they did as long as I get what I wanted most.

Wow...that's too far-fetched!

This is an issue with ISP's employed transparent proxy servers. It has nothing to do with client's machine.

The benefits are more on ISP side rather than customers. ISP will have reduced traffic. And, to some extent, they can analyze the contents of the proxy cache. That's why it is important to have a trusted ISP to hold sensitive information stored inside a proxy cache. If the content comes from non-secured sites (non-HTTPS), ISP can see your user credentials and password information on proxy cache.

Normally, proxies are never designed to cache encrypted pages like HTTPS used in banking and secure sites as those encrypted contents are gibberish. So, no password or user credential information can be extracted from an encrypted streams/data stored in the proxy cache.

On customer side, if the same page has been cached into a proxy cache, the browser will receive the cached page instead of the actual page from a server (usually that hosts a website). It will be "faster". The problem is that some websites are not designed to properly handle cache control.

Let's say you are accessing www.CNN.com. Let's say your origin IP is "181.232.111.123"

Normally, when you type in "www.CNN.com" at the address space of your browser and then hit <enter>, your computer sents a message to the DNS server (normally of TMNet) and it will do a forward dns lookup table search --- and then convert the "www.cnn.com" to "157.166.226.26"

With that "157.166.226.26" in hand, the bindserver will bind your origin IP "181.232.111.123" with that ""157.166.226.26" destination IP in a packet, and then forward that packet to CNN's server at "157.166.226.26" IP. That request will past through several other servers (use traceroute to find out more about this) to reach CNN's server.

After receiving your request, CNN's server return whatever you're requesting back to your original "181.232.111.123" IP address.

All of these take place between the moment you hit <enter> and the time your browser starts to load CNN's homepage. Yes, all within seconds !!

Now ... proxy.

What steeeemyx is doing, is to set up a whole series of servers. Whenever your PC sents out a request to the DNS server, the DNS server will pass that request to the proxy servers. Proxy servers in turn, will search in their database and see if they have any copies of the homepage you are requesting.

Let's say you're accessing "www.CNN.com" ... let's say the steeeemyx proxy server happens to have a copy of "www.CNN.com" on it.

Instead of sending your request straight to CNN's server, the steeeeemyx proxy sends their copy of www.CNN.com back to your PC.

To you, everything looks normal. In fact, theoretically, this could "speed up" the internet accessing speed, and could "cut down" the international bandwidth to and from Malaysia.

All these look fine, except, that's a catch.

Let's say you're accessing "www.CNN.com" at 12.01PM local time.

Let's say the copy of "www.CNN.com" located at steeeeemyx proxy server was dated at 11.53PM local time.

In normal situation, you access "www.CNN.com" you get "www.CNN.com" from CNN as it was dated 12.01PM local time.

However, in the proxified scenario, you're getting a "www.CNN.com" which is couple of minute LATE.

Just a couple of minutes different, what's the big deal, right?

What if you're to access the DOW JONES STOCK MARKET INDEX, and you want a truly UP TO DATE report. You are betting MILLIONS on the stock market and you need to get the REALTIME report.

However, with the proxies in place, you MAY NOT get the realtime result. Instead, you could be getting OLD RESULT --- how old, you dunno !

In stock markets, anything could happen anytime. Proxies in this situation could cause people losing MILLIONS !

But this is not the worst part yet.

The worst part is, the Malaysia government could have instructed steeeemyx to set up the proxy servers to FILTER OUT "unwelcome news".

In other words, proxies could be used as a CENSORSHIP DEVICE !!

And in order to "protect" the Malaysian citizens, the government could decide that we shouldn't visit "controversial sites" such as "sexual sites", "hacker sites", et cetera.

But what if the government expand their definition of "controversial sites" to include all Christian related sites, all Buddhism related sites, all Hindu related sites?

What if the government decides that we, the Malaysia people, could live a better life by not knowing what is going on in America, other than what they tell us in the RTM1 news?

This all could happen. In fact, it IS happening in China !

I go to China often. I have businesses there. The Chinese government has blocked so many sites that often I had to carry out the internet thing in Hongkong and Taiwan.

All of these is happening in Malaysia while in about 4 months or so a new PM would be in place.

Could these two un-related matter be totally un-related?

Or could Najis' people are on the move right now?

Today, with the existing Internet infrastructure, they can NOT block us from obtaining information from all over the globe.

They also can NOT prevent us from sending information OUT of the country.

With the proxies in place, they CAN.

In China, there are places that I can't do VPN !

I am not kidding. What I am afraid is Malaysia would turn into yet another China, and perhaps even WORSE !!!

Okay, www.whatismyip.com and my modem page show the same IP.

I'm not being proxified yet? I'm currently using 60.49.xx.xx and am having great download speeds.

However, I also get 115.xxx or 118.xxx sometimes and the speeds are crawling..

I have P1 coverage around my Klang area here. Woohoo~..

If Streamyx really proxify my connection and if my family and I can't stand it, maybe it's time for a change!

Anyway, anyone's been using P1 and finding it better compared to Streamyx? (1mbps, never mind if it's a higher price)

P1 WIMAX bandwidth is limited to 20GB per-month, not good for P2P and DDL download. Read P1 WIMAX FAQ http://www.p1.com.my/wimax/aspx/wimax_faq_ref.aspx#Usage Jaring is the best option and only option if you are going to cancel Streamyx.

im still cant use rapidshare if my ip is around 115.. serius this this streamyx im think im going to kill them, their profit are not halal according in islam because they are not give the best services as they told and let the costumer suffer using streamyx paid with monthly expensive payment..

now im paying around rm88 permonth after i finished the merdeka promo ..

I would like to share to you all over country malaysian people about the different over the ISP to another country. We all know that tmnet is the biggest ISP in malaysia using wired. Because of that , in this post i'm not put Maxis, Celcom dan juga Digi for comparation.

Info i get this from blog http://naem2go.blogspot.com about the comparation between ISP ini Malaysia (TMNet) dan other country ISP services.

How to Solve Your Slow Streamyx Torrent and P2P Connection with VPN Service For Only RM1 Per Day

Oct 6th, 2007 Posted in Streamyx Sucks

Sorry for not blogging for more than 6 weeks. I am hiding in a cave in Ipoh so that Hishammuddin cannot find me and put me in jail. Mr Hisham, I am not trying to make fun of you, I am just teaching people how to spell your name correctly only lar. tongue.gif

OK. The real reason I am not blogging is because I have put a lot of things into my NOT-TO-DO list. You have heard of TO-DO list many times, which list down a lot of things that you need to do. A NOT-TO-DO list on the other hand is a list of things that you want to remind yourself NOT TO DO!

When we have a long TO-DO list, we will be very stressful and overwhelmed. We have so much to do and yet we have so little time. But the good news is, a lot of things that we put in our TO-DO list can actually be eliminated without affecting our life! By transferring these meaningless TO-DO to a new NOT-TO-DO list, we earn a lot of extra time. You will feel more relax and focus. You get FREEDOM.

So, unfortunately, I have temporary put blogging into my NOT-TO-DO list. sad.gif Not because of Hishammuddin invites me to drink tea at ISA lar.

Another thing that I have put into my NOT-TO-DO list is StreamyxSucks.com. Since they setup a new 10Gbps link in July, I have been enjoying incredible speed with Streamyx. But I find out that while I am enjoying decent speed, there are actually more people complaining after the upgrade. But until today, I still enjoy my Streamyx very much and it is the best connection I have gotten for the pass 5 years.

So I have decided not to continue my StreamyxSucks.com project and will stop collecting emails today. Sorry to act like a politician - Talk COCK a lot but do nothing at the end. Maybe I do have some politician blood? Wahaha.

I will give you guys some direction on what’s next.
For All Torrent Freaks and P2P Addicts

For torrent freaks and P2P addicts, all you need is a VPN service. A VPN route your torrent and P2P connections to another server to bypass the capping done by Tmnet. You can easily get 50kb to 100kb torrent speed by using VPN. Current I am using BolehVPN.

You will need to pay for this service because these guys need to pay for the Server. The price is around RM1 per day and there are several packages. However, I suggest that you never pay more than 2 months at once! This is because there are several VPN providers that have run away! I paid my last provider 6 months in advance and he run away after 2 months. So only pay the amount you are comfortable to loss. You can find other VPN providers here.
For Those Who Just Want To Rant and Complaint

Lowyat Forum, the biggest Malaysia community has a very active Streamyx forum where you can meet a lot of Streamyx users online. They even setup a special rant thread for you to fxxk tmnet CEO’s mama and grand-mama (over 1,700 replies!).

Soufu has also collected a lot of streamyx complaints here and he wants you to submit more.
For Those Who Want To Have a Streamyx Sucks T-Shirt.

Soufu called me and say he is very interested in printing the T-Shirt and I am sure a lot of you are very eager to wear it, so please check out Soufu’s Streamyx Sucks T-Shirt Design and push him to print it as soon as possible!
For Those Who Want To Quit Using Streamyx And Use Other ISPs

Unfortunately, almost all ISP are more f***ed-up than Streamyx. For Streamyx, you can at least call 1300-88-9515 to send your regards to their mother and father but for most other ISPs, they don’t even pick up your phone calls. You will get more depressed and end up complaining at AhYap.com.

But there is always hope, check out Redesign Malaysia - Better Broadband for a list of ISPs and activities that you can participate in.
For Those Who Want To Screw AhYap’s Ass Hole For Overpromise and Underdeliver for StreamyxSucks.com

I will wear 16 underwears beginning today so it won’t be easy for you! I am protecting my ******* at all cost!!!

Now 219.x is a Good IP and 60.x is f***ed Up IP

Aug 13th, 2007 Posted in Streamyx Sucks

This is an update to the TM-Net Streamyx IP - 219.x, 218.x and 60.x post that I wrote a year ago.

Last few weeks, I have been enjoying incredible fast connection of internet on my 219.x IP. Surprise? Usually, I will have to connect to 218.x to get a decent connection like this. But last few weeks is totally different, my 219.x can connect as good as 218.x.

I am like living in heaven.

But what is funny is that while I am surfing in heaven, suddenly soufulow complains a lot about his poor streamyx connection. He has download that is less than 10KB/s for certain sites. I have no idea why. He is shouting EXACTLY the way I am shouting for years in my blog.

Also, at the very same time, MORE people actually complaint about slower speed in my blog comments and also other forums. Suddenly more people are searching for ’streamyx sucks’. It is like, suddenly I live in heaven and all other people live in hell.

Then, one day I got a very bad speed (back to hell). I look at the IP and I got a 60.x!

IP numbers are sticky to area and in my area, I will get 90% of 219.x and 9% of 218.x and 1% of 60.x. I have gotten 60.x for less than 10 times in the last 5 years using Streamyx. And everytime I got a 60.x, I will get incredible speed and I will refuse to turn off my router and let it hook up for weeks so I won’t lose the connection.

While looking at the IP of people who wrote a comment in my blog and also soufulow’s IP, they usually get the 60.x as opposed to the 219.x. [There are a lot more people on 60.x then on 219.x]

I quickly do a disconnection and reconnect with a 219.x. Boom! My internet connection is blasting fast again.

My conclusion is that 219.x suddenly become a blessed IP and 60.x is now cursed!

My think it is related to the 10Gbps upgrade by Tmnet. And there are 2 possible scenarios.

Scenario #1

The 10 Gbps link is added to 219.x so 219 is very fast now. But that didn’t explain why 60.x deteriorate.

Scenario #2

The 10 Gbps link is added to 60.x and Tmnet allows more people to hook up to 60.x after the upgrade. But unfortunately, it end up that the new 10 Gbps link are not able to support the amount of new users being transfer to 60.x and making 60.x even more congested. While those remain in 219.x like me enjoy decent connection speed due to less congestion.

I am just guessing… But it is very true that suddenly more people are getting pissed off by streamyx.

Update: AhYap no longer wants to complaint about Streamyx so he can live in PEACE. Please read his final post on how to solve your slow streamyx connection for the last episode. Commenting for this post has also been closed.

ironically these kinds of monopoly for profit is what makes a country never advances... we'll be behind "advanced countries" for the rest of this country's life as long as these kinds of stuff never change...

back to topic, everytime i'm switched into proxified ip or non proxified ip, i will be dc'ed for few seconds. ultimately leading all the applications relating internet usage will be disconnected. (we'll be disconnected if our ip suddenly changed anyway). so this means that we can't even play MMO peacefully anymore... even worse for those kind of MMO which relies on single matches per game and simply decided by losing or winning, like gunbound or rakion...

instead of cancelling the service, i guess will need to downgrade to the cheapest package to allow only email checkings.

Can't download anything from RS or MU and surfing normal web like using 56K modem speed. It could happen to you too just the matter of time, sooner or later if you are a regular/heavy downloader.

ok, i ran a few speedtest yesterday. oh ... before that, i was testing on 118/115 IPs only as these are the two IPs which I'm able to get for now.

test from penang and kl servers are getting quite a decent speed at7xx - 8xx kbps but during actual surfing is not, cos i cant even load streamyx.com.my. thanks god that i'm still able to load lowyat.net smootly.

test from singapore server will notice the the speed drop tremendously to 3xx kbps.

test from us (washington) server, speed is only 1xx kbps.

actual FTP download speed from china server (china telecom to be specific) drop below 1kbps and at times everything just freeze.

A user with download bandwidth over 500MB per-day are consider a heavy downloader by TM. Imagine or say your area with 50 Streamyx user with a normal daily download of 1GB > 50GB already loh. hmm.gif It is not just you they want to control and TM got no time to check every user so they just implement a proxy to proxified everyone on that area.

If only local server to server we can get 7xx~8xx not international then TM should call it "Localnet" not "Internet" on their advertisement and stop cheating consumer bandwidth and money we paid them every month.

I think I found a workaround for torrent. Not perfect but at least I can download at 20kB/s and upload at full 30kB/s. The peers can correctly recognise my IP instead of the proxy IP.

There is no difference if you're a free or Premium user of RS/MU. I have premium of both... but the D/L speed is practically crawling. Seems like no escape for any of us. Even VPN user also is affected. mad.gif

Mmm, strange, my connection is still not being affected yet.

Just telling you guys that the best IP for me is 60.49.xx.xx. Direct downloads are around 100~115kbps. And Xunlei's downloads are around 80~115kbps.

I get 115. / 118. IPs too. But I would always disconnect and reconnect to get back 60.49.xxx.xxx. RS and MU aren't affected. Still downloading at great speeds.

I'm using 1mbps Streamyx package by the way.

Out of curiosity, is it true that every Streamyx subscriber will be proxified? Because up till now I think I haven't been proxified yet.

When you get it, your emotions will start pouring out uncontrollably like the guy on top of this post.

EDIT : I don't mind the download speeds, in fact I'm able to surf the net quite fast, like when I was not proxified, but then I can't bloody download from rapidshare, how shitty is that? Even worse if it was important.

As of now, i'm also haven't been proxified and most probably waiting to be. Current available range for me is 60.48, 60.49, 60.50, 60.53, 113-115 while the best is 60.50. I hope i'll stay lucky though for me, it doesn't matter much.

The only functional ip range is 60.50 and its a b*tch to reconnect to it. Other range is pure utter crap which is hopeless in anything but checking email. Bottom line, proxified or not, in the end you'll still get the same o' crap streamyx is going to give you, whether you like it or not shakehead.gif

Define "inexpensive". What price range do you mean by that?

There already plenty of solution which is not that expensive such as buying premium rapidshare account, VPN, custome proxy server (as suggested by HeHeHunter) or the free method which I used is reconnecting till your head explodes and you get good ip smile.gif

Free or paid method are discussed many many times on this forum so doing a simple search is suffice rather than making a new thread. As for services` feedback, just view the current thread and your all set smile.gif

As for me, i'll just keep using my free method until it can no longer allow me to use it anymore, or until my head crack from constant reconnecting and failing to get good ip sweat.gif

Student is student ,you should concentrate on studies and not blaming your father for not paying you for premium acc etc.Calling him selfish is so not right. If you really want to have some extra pocket money for your entertainment purpose, then go earn it by yourself.

i've just contacted streamyx and they deny of putting any proxy to their customers internet connection , it's either ;
1) he is uninformed of the situation
2) there's somebody in streamyx is hacking the whole streamyx system ?!(omg !! for ; 1) to have all the bandwidth to himself( so he can sell it back
etc etc ).
2)he is watching all the internet transaction ( visa number
etc etc ).
just my 2 cents smile.gif .

I was thinking of jumping ship, maybe change to Jaring broadband because Streamyx has a lot of these problems that make customers be able to not satisfy their needs.

However, I did a speed test on www.speedtest.net. The following is my result:

Is the speed good?

I'm not a victim of "proxification" yet. But I still think that sooner or later I will be proxified anyway.

Screamyx CS was never informed of such things.

Screamyx CS is to... Guide you to get an internet connection and make report.
No such information from the administration will reach them.

Screamyx CS is given a stack of paper(notes) and follow the guides.
EG. When a Customer complain about speed, they will ask you to check the speed at their speedtest center.
Undersatnd? They are learning everything from the paper(notes).

When they cannot troubleshoot, report.

Why are some things in the first page cancelled with lines? Are they even supposed to be read?

For now this permanent proxy like 58.27.105.134 is really screwing many websites that i usually go, this particular changed happened around 21 November 2008 when i changed my modem to DSL605EW AZTECH Modem, right now i regret changing my modem and installing new softwares into it

Right now there is some of the website that i want to go i cant go at all for example.

www.sendspace.com
www.gamefaqs.com
www.download.com

rapidshare.com works but it keeps giving me the SESSION EXPIRED link

so basically all the stuff that i usually want to download cant be download, thanks to some Stupid idiotic ISP that decided to put this Perma proxy 58.27.XXX.XXX

If you received session expired after the timer page mean RS is not working behind a proxy so it's mean you are completely proxified as well. grumble.gif It's time consumer to cancel this Streamyx ! mad.gif

my findings with the current 3 ranges of IPs --> 118.*, 115.*, 60.48.*

if being proxified, some websites were being blocked. but browsing to some very common sites such as lowyat.net is fast and it loads fast as well with websites hosted offshore, which I believe is due to proxy caching.

if not being proxified, web browsing is at a crawl even to local hosted sites.

FTP/HTTP/P2P downloads all sucks with the 3 ranges of IP regardless of being proxified or not

Go complain because this is your rights.

Complain
er... Add, that you cannot update. Tell them not to fool you because you say you know that they have put a proxy on your IP. So, simple, just say you gonna call MCMC regarding your rights and they die with honor.

well i managed to get unproxified ip after i avoid downloading anything for one whole day.

but the unproxified ip i get is always 115.xx or 118.xx whenever i reset and get 60.xx it's always ended up being proxified. hahaha.... it's a very damn hard choice... no download or no surfing...

EDIT : ah yes.. it's stupid to even report anything to TM there's one time I act dumb and email the TM customer service regarding this proxy. (like 1 week ago) and they even replied me that proxy is usually set up by users so ISP have nothing to do with it. hmm~

Title: Dissatisfaction over Broadband services
Service No. : xxx-xxxxxxxx
Account No. xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx
Login ID: xxx@streamyx
Name of Applicant: Mr. anonymous
Contact Number: xxx-xxxxxxx
Router Modem Brand: <modem brand>

Dear Streamyx Customer Service,

1. I am a personal applicant for the <streamyx package>. I wish to highlight to you regarding various problem happening to my house internet service.

2. I had not been able to access certain websites, namely http://www.download.com; the place for you to download legal software, http://www.gamefaqs.com; the place to look for new game. This is totally unacceptable as I could only reach the site via other BROADBAND services such as Izzi, WiMax and Jaring from my friends house.

3. I'm well known that there are issues where certain websites is totally blocked due to the IP range 58.27.105.xxx which caused by a transparent proxy created by your company TM. Below are the proof of my IP being proxified. I believe that such thing (the proxy set up) happened recently and I also believe that this eliminates the point where your customer service stated that "Please take note that proxy servers are normally being set up at customer's end." as this never happened before previously.
<Image at whatismyipaddress>

4. A check from the website clearly shows that there's a proxy behind my dynamic IP. and the proxy shows that it is owned by TM. Therefore, I believe that this is not a fraud. From the information at http://www.whatismyipaddress.com, it give out the following information.
General Information:
Hostname: 58.27.105.130
ISP: TMnet Telekom Malaysia
Organization: TMNET
Proxy: Confirmed proxy server.
Type: Cable/DSL

5. From the data received, this clearly shows that TM is not upholding the "MSC Malaysia 10-Point Bill of Guarantees" which indicates that as part of its commitment to ensuring the success of MSC Status companies, the Government promised to “ensure no Internet censorship” where TM is blocking access to legal websites.

6. According to the source at http://www.skmm.gov.my, Service providers should ensure consumers to enjoy choice and satisfactory level of services at affordable price, benefit through provisioning of necessary services. However, such satisfactory had not been achieved.

7. As stated in your website's Fair Usage Policy, "This traffic prioritization policy will protect the quality of service for the majority of our customers when they use the service, while at the same time, still allowing the extremely heavy users to continue to send and receive files with certain restrictions. With this policy in place, we will prioritize Internet activities like web browsing, live streaming, messaging applications and VOIP access while traffic to P2P sites will be given lower priority, due to the high bandwidth consumption of such services." However, I would like to highlight that I'm totally unable to access certain websites. So, what is the base of the fair usage policy whereas TM couldn't even define "prioritize internet activities" and caused dissatisfaction among customers?

8. As I browse through the terms and condition, I am well aware that there is no such thing as proxy on users. If such thing did occur, why is it not stated under the clause 21. "Services"? Kindly highlight that TM is using a proxy on users if the above mentioned is true as it brings a huge impact on subscribers.

9. I am well aware that termination of services can be done if the services is totally below par. If TM couldn't provide proper services, a complain to SKMM would be done because TM couldn't satisfy an average customer.

Lastly, I am totally disappointed with your services and I hope that a good explanation would be provided and lifting up the proxy would be the smartest option. If there are no proper explanation given, I would like to terminate the service.

Thank you.

Yours Truly,
HeHeHunter

I've not been proxified yet despite having the 115 ip address. Just tested RS just and I was maxing out my 1mb connection (Deutsch Telecom server). Tried MU as well, maxed out my connection too. Torrent is slow though when I used the Bitcomet mod from the other thread, I maxed out my connection too. I'll probably stick with my current IP as long as possible.

there you go, hail my dumb act~ anyone, feel free to use this for complaining, i removed my email address tho.

oh btw, i downloaded around 2gb worth of anime from bakawolf 2 days ago, and now i cant access bakawolf under proxy... i still can use IRC to download my anime but... probably in the future, i'll have to rely on the 5kbps torrent for my anime? lame...

EDIT : allright... this afternoon i was using proxified 60.xx and i switched to 115.xx (unproxified) for the sake of accessing gamefaqs this afternoon too... since IP 115.xx (unproxified) was crawling slower than turtle, I switched my ip to 60.xx for better download speed (proxified) I downloaded thru IRC, it's a 170mb video file. and straight after i finished my download i tried to switch my ip again hoping to get an unproxified whatver IP so i can access gamefaqs again. but now whatever IP i get (be it 115.xx or 118.xx) i'm still under proxy. the heck... makes me starting to wonder how they actually calculate the placement of the proxy... 170mb = big download? is it a joke?

No luck, if you can go with WiMax or Izzi. Check it at their website.
Else make a complain.

After 3-4 tries of rebooting my router yesterday I got a 115.x.x.x IP too and it appeared to be unproxied.....
It took me 3-4 tries because all the attempts of rebooting, the router connected but cannot browse or do anything at all. ping google also cannot. After getting the 115 IP i still called up TM on the proxied problem the night before. As usual, the helpdesk person cannot even understand the term 'proxy', let alone respond properly to my queries. shakehead.gif

this is rich... i've been playing alteil which is a very damn legal net battle card game...
well it's a web based game so it's a pretty heavy game where you have to load everything everytime you login. such as the BGM the client and everything. but meh it will load with no lags with a mere 100kbps. well i used proxified 60.50. ip and play just fine. but in the middle of the match i got disconnected and rerouted to proxified 115.xx ip. coincidence? maybe. and i go around mess around to get 60.50. again since 115.xx is crawling like turtle. well i got it proxifed and play another match, just to get disconnected again and rerouted again to 115.xx. the heck? and after that i've been trying for about 20-30 minutes of refreshing ip just to get proxified 115.xx and 118.xx ip. and finally now i get another 60.50.xx proxified.

what do you think? coincidence? maybe... i'll try another game

EDIT : worse. this time i got disconnected just by logging in.
EDIT2 : yeah i got disconnected in a match again under proxified 60.48.

Apparently, I didn't send because the internet is not paid by me currently.
So, when I officially own my own phone line, then I will complain.

I doubt TM will ever admit they proxified your IP unless you really threaten them badly. It's the same principal that a thief will never admit the crime he did.

My connection is no longer running through any transparent proxy or proxy cache since the last time I posted the annoyance in this thread.

FYI, I don't complain about it or having any resentment because I understand why it is like this. It is only just an annoyance because there is always a solution to it. In fact, I don't have a problem with Streamyx since my subscription date in 2004.

The only email that I've sent to TM is pertaining to no dial-tone which cut me off online (either line phone or Streamyx) and it was solved within a few hours from my only call to TM 100 number. Yes, I gave TM enough details of why it happened to make it easy for them to solve my problem. I just treated TM call operator in assertive but amicable way and repeated many times so that the operator didn't make any mistake in typing the problem report. The other reason is that TM cannot treat me badly since I pay to TM on time in full every month before the dateline and never miss the dateline.

The GOOD thing is that: my connection is now constantly up running on "60.53.*.*" and is performing within the acceptable 70% speed of my Streamyx package, just like always. Thank you, TM Streamyx.

luckily i'm free from proxify problem. i think they might be testing the IPv6 implementation. anyway still stupid move. dont bother to upgrade your package, last month my company's sdsl went down. supposedly they settled it in 24 hours guess what it took nearly 96 hour to get connected again. what do you expect? even we paid 600+ monthly fees that is how crappy we've been treated.

i'm unproxified since yesterdaya evening. i'm at Bangi.

yesterday morning (26/11), 8am i connect my internet at office, enter http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and saw my ip proxified. But normal browsing on very smooth speed, just slow on downloading.

then after office hour, at 5.30pm i downloading Avira Free Installer from download.com and surprising i get 1++ kbps download speed, then re-check http://whatismyipaddress.com/, and saw my ip already unproxified. Wow...

then try offline modem, reconnect, and totally i'm unproxified rclxms.gif

MAYBE because of so so so many complain about slow browsing, slow downloading, or can't enter some website and can't download from rapidshare, etc... event if want download a small file. So, tmnet unproxified all user for now rclxms.gif

I do feel my connection is improving and it has never been disconnected (24x7). And, I am perplexed with the download speed test result of my 512kbps package right now:

user posted image

It must be something wrong with SpeedTest's algorithm. I've repeated many times and they are above 512kbps (test under FF3).

The craziest download speed running under IE8:

user posted image

Hmm, I need to try other speed test websites.

This test result is more reliable (The download speed is above 70% of the expected download speed):

It appears that only 115., 118., and 60. IP are available at the moment no matter how we reconnect.

Right, it makes sense. But 15 seconds to access a page of bbc.com is too long. Any relation between proxified and content downloading?

-btw, at mont kiara...

Yes, it is possible for the BBC servers to be flooded with many traffic. It can experience Digg- or Slashdot-effect.

To know whether you are being proxified or not depends on the tool you use to signify it. Downloading will be difficult if a website doesn't manage page cache control and web-page design in a way that improves user experience.

Thanks. First of all, world peace! For several weeks, bbc.com was fast enough. Anyway, I will check tomorrow again. I hope this slow access to bbc.com could be solved soon.

i tried to open bbc.com & cnn.com
from enter to fully load page 5~7sec only
me at Bangi

maybe at your area have some problem, OR try reboot/turn off modem about 3~5 minutes & reconnect again.
then flush your DNS, clear your browser cache/cookies (just like almost TMNet helpdesk will tell you upon calling them about slow connection, but sometime it works rclxms.gif )

Just to let you know, TM's proxy is full transparent now. So dynamic DNS service like DynDNS and No-IP can detect our real WAN IP now. Save me a couple of bucks since I was ready to find a VPN/SSH Tunnel service for my routers.

It's still 10 secs. Mostly I feel slow if the downloading time is more than 3 secs. I think I am too impatient. Anyway, "unproxified" can assure fast internet, right?

Good la no more stupid proxy. Hope their server got overheated and turn into fire burn down their building: got any reports on that?

Don't just say Rapidshareonly, download.com download rate less than 600 bytes for a 730 kB file and timeout error in 5%.
and why TM Net so sensitive? tm.net.my won't work; have to add that stupid WWW. I mean, TM Net work for Malaysia only already suck so why does it deserve to be in the World Wide Web.

HELLO TMNET. THIS IS 2009 ALREADY(not yet but come on... 4 days to go). YOU WANT WORK FOR THE MALAYSIAN RAKYAT OR NOT? IF DON'T WANT JUST GO AWAY LA.

TMNET = not an ISP but a normal household router serving 20k people.
Only good thing about this is not many Malaysian hackers because internet here suck like shit. If got Malaysian hacker they already hack an AirAsia ticket to Japan already. biggrin.gif

[thinks radically]
Since government don't want to do anything, let's do something by ourselves. Find the right time and do anything we can to made a D.o.S. on TM Net servers: D.o.S. attack(ask the hackers who visited Malaysia and really can't stand the speed), spam mail and fax(ignore filter; you still make the filter do more work), torrent like shyt, plug the telephone cable into the 13W socket(be careful), etc. If we can make TM Net down longer than Pirate Bay during the raid and can really force the government to do something is really okay liao. Quit internet for a few days/weeks is good for your health too.

If government still do nothing, I'll set up my own network and make the government know the true meaning of the internet and P2P.

All this will do is ruin facilities for other people and possibly help you get to jail. It will not prove any point about TM's problems, it will only show that there are hooligans attacking them.

If you don't like the service at a supermarket, do you think you will improve things by setting the building on fire?

It's pointless, but what if that's the only supermarket(ISP) and they sell rotten food(bad service)? You still need that supermarket for food(internet) but it sells rotten food(bad internet) and the government is not going to let another one build up(let another company take the telephone lines) even after consumer reports(SKMM). Only solution is to either plant your own food(make your own network), or do something about it(in my 'too-crazy' idea, DoS attack them).
