QUOTE(m_rpeace @ Jun 2 2009, 09:05 PM) i juz wan to know about nightkids brand and hertz <<<<is it ok or cap ayam,,,,,noob here all sifu plz help me just make sure it's Hertz, not Herts, Herz or something like dat. Italian company, a reputable car audio company worldwide, famous for their Mille speakers . Nightkids is ah beng's blasting brand, nothing to shout about, in other words, cap ayam. but most beginners will ignore wat we say and still buy the cap ayams cos a lot of their frens oso using that brand. |

Hi everyone,
Interesting article. A good read for info. As for me, old school only lor because cannot afford new ones. I guess at the end of the day, within your budget, get maximum value via maximising your system capability. Cheers |

hi all, might ask some stupid question but dont fire me ya.. haha..
is the Phoenix Gold QX-2180 and Precision Power 2030M consider as entry level of ice..? currently my setup: HU - pionner 8650 component - Rockford 2614 component set sub - peerless XLS 10" stage 1 DIY sound proof(paiseh...) i owned a rockford 2614 component set(2yrs+), and i replaced the tweets with hertz(forgotten the model, but its a normal performance tweets la~) planned to drive the component set with the ppi, and the peerless xls 10" power by the PG. any comment or advice..? i know it might be not enough juice to drive the sub, but what to do..? i only manage to get the PG for the sub.. sob~ thanks in advance.. regards, Tony. this PG is 2x40w and 1x180W @4ohm. XLS 10 is 250W rms if i recall correctly. shud not be a problem if u dun blast excessively. http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/PPI_2030M/ 2x 30W for ur comp set. ok la, better than nothing. both amps are very old skool, i suppose they are entry lvl. but at least much better than cap ayam. smart choice for starting ICE. mind to tell me how much u bought the XLS? |

pioneer 8650.. there's a switch there. i know dat.. juz gone thru the manual. haha..
b4 getting the proper amp and component, i'll keep running my ICE in passive 1st.. summore i nid to study more on active setup.. both amps were old skool.. but in my opinion, i juz start playing with ICE, it will be better than spending the same amount on new amps but not really good quality amp.. correct me if i'm wrong.. newbies learning.. ^^ |

QUOTE(toonny @ Jun 17 2009, 09:01 AM) ahahaha~ both of the amps is in antique level..? 0.o My 2sen view on ol'skool amp. If you can get in good working condition at great price, grab it. Most of them are sonically good enough for newbie. The good and not good thing is that since they are mainly 'pure' amp i.e without features such as crossover, bass boost la etc, you need to have the function via HU or external crossover. But similar to 'pure' deck/HU, you get the money spent on quality. The amps never clipped and stay clean through to high volume.juz hope thier performance dont let me down.. sifu zenn, do you audit both amps b4..? or anyone..? like to hear some comments.. Personally i have 4 equipments older than 10 years in my setup. 2 of them are close to 20 yrs old. Most of the others are >7 yrs anyway. My friends with newer equipments also agree that for the money spent, its well worth. Just be careful that bcoz they are old, do not push beyond their limit esp buying SQ ol'skool to be used for SPL. Give them some headroom. All in correct gain setting. |
