currently using 6120c, cannnot make up my mind whether to go for N82 or N79...

Pls comment on battery life, photo quality, ease to search contacts, wifi, sound quality, etc..

Do you like taking photos? If you are then go for Nokia N82. Because the Xenon flash is superb in low light condition even normal conditions. If you want to compare which one had better battery life, I guess it would be Nokia N79(I am not too sure about N79's battery life bcaz I am using N82). It's because N79 uses a 1200mAh battery and also the latest Symbian OS 9.3 so it would be less power hungry. As for N82, the battery life was OK for me if you are not a heavy user. If you were to use WIFI alot in a day like 1-2 hours N82 would last you maximum 1-2 days of battery life. WIFI is the same for both phones. Its not like the latest hp would give you a faster WIFI speed. Not too sure about sound quality because I seldom listen to MP3. Hope this help. It's just my 2 cents.

if u prefer good camera then go for n82
but of coz short batt life
sound quality is better with the new firmware compared to older firmwares
if compare to other phones..i duno

if u plan to use nokia maps..then i think u better dun
it hanged for most of the ppl..u can try urs but i think it will hang oso
if u plan to install garmin or other gps applications, then v30 doesnt hv any impact

I noticed that the keypad's a bit inconvenient...cuz I'm a heavy sms user...I wonder if existing users (esp heavy sms user) encounters any problems while smsing? I can foresee some visible keypad marks on the fingers or something hehe.

I am getting mine today, bless me to get it in chepa price ^^. If I but now, normally it will be v.30 ya? Can I ask teh shop to install for me? How long will it take? Need any cost to upgrade?

Best Nokia I have used to far. Screen is great. Camera is superb, no software problems so far (never updated firmware. Still on V11 ) and battery life is reasonable for a smartphone. A full charge lasts me about 2 days on average use. Music play back using earphones is so so though

About smsing, Im a heavy sms user as well. Eventually you'll get the hang of the tiny keypad. Its easier that it seems to type using the keypad.

Cant comment on the pricing as Im not in the country at the moment

Is there a way I can get chinese language, without updating firmware to V30? (My current firmware is V20) cuz I wanna get the ahem stuff lol.

And one more thing, when I got the cd into the tray, the installer asks if I need to check for latest software versions? Will saying yes be risky or something cuz mine's an AP set?

ur choice definitely tend to n82,for battery life around 2days for me, average use, listening music, taking photo, game,wifi and a lot of sms
dont use it, i dont like it because its make ur phone to big..

to support chinese languange u need to change ur product code, ap from where? nevermind u can update ur latest software ..but for me, i will not use their cd, just download directly from Nokia website their NOKIA PC SUITE and sofware updater...more convenience

AP from comsat. How do I change my product code and if I change my product code, will my firmware change as well?

Edit: OMG someone please tell me that this model support .vcf format. I saved all my contacts into that file and if it doesn't accept, I'm dead meat from keying in all the contacts. I tried to bluetooth the vcf file into my hp but it seems like the hp doesnt wanna accept it T.T

oh lulz..i tot of buyin 1 to try it out..

can change product code using NSS..if change product code, then nid to change firmware using NSU
bear in mind, if u change the firmware, it will update to v30 as it's the latest firmware
after upgrading to v30, u cant downgrade back to v20
it'll brick ur phone..as most ppl experienced

actually, do we need to pay in order to use garmin ar? (sorry still new to all this symbian thingy)
yea..use the nokia provided Maps really hanged... force to take out the battery to restart it...
