Any comments on Edifier MP300 plus people?
*
its good. i got one in my house, previously also own a MP300. sounds about the same, except i prefer white MP300 design. plus, subwoofer needs a bit tweaking so doesn't sound muddy.

S530D user attention..
I found the S530 lack of Hi freqency(treble) and low frequency(bass) response...
The noise level is very low and sound is clean..
I found my R202 is sound better (higher Hi-freqency-treble-  ) when connect the S530D Satelite as compare to S530D.
Although S530D is definitely louder .. How can it be?
Any commend? how was the setting for S530 treble and bass you prefer?
How to boost the performance further?
*
for the bass, you could try using foobar2000 (with SuperEQ, 16383 taps) to adjust the optimal frequency for the subwoofer. compensate frequency

hehe.luckily niclasteoh's shop got troley.freakin heavy.oh yea...when do i use the rca connector cable?cause i was assuming those cable would go to my mobo with the 6 holes thingy..but doesnt fit..so i just use the 3.5mm to dual rca connect to one hole to the mobo thing..am i doing it right? all but the center sat doesnt have sound.or do i need to get moreĀ  3.5mm to dual rca connecting cable?
*
so how was it? much better than C3?

u just need to connect the 3 RCA (front, center and rear) to the respective hole in your mobo, using the RCA - 3.5mm cable supplied in the box. if only the center doesnt work it appears the sub and center is reversed. try to double-check the cable connection behind the speaker. or swap the subwoofer in your sound setting.

well the RCA-RCA cable is supposedly for peripherals such as perhaps DVD player. It's weird cause in R501 they give 3x both cables. so i have total of 6 input cables.

yes when new just need a quick burn in. in moderate use at least give a week. burn in both the speakers and your eardrums. lol

yes. should be available in computer shops. maybe HCS5640 is designed for something like dvd player that they decide not to include 3x 3.5mm-RCA cable.

do not swap the + for the -. it can damage ur speaker and amp. u can swap the input, red and white thing, not the polarity of the speakers.

E3100 rly so good?i need a speaker for gaming and some music listening, maybe some movie oso but thts seldom

wats the main diff of 3300 and 3310?
*
QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Apr 13 2010, 11:18 PM)
then how is HCS2330?
*
the main difference lies within the subwoofer characteristic, however both seems to be not really good. if you're a bass person you should review these options. do note that M3310 subwoofer still isn't as good as the E3100. it's somehow similar to M1335 subwoofer to me. satellite wise both uses identical sats so they should not differ much, as the name suggests. E3100 excel in subwoofer compared to other edifier with the same price, but its satellites are inferior to the M3300/10.

HCS2330 is a improved version of C2 with higher power rating and switching power supply. never heard them. but i don't think it will be differ much from the C2 since they are using identical drivers for the sub and satellites.

QUOTE(negisf @ Apr 19 2010, 10:23 AM)
I'm new in the speakers world..

And after listening to several sound quality from different brand like Altec, Creative, Sonic.. I've decided that the sound characteristic from Edifier is what i'm looking for,.

Cause i felt that edifier's vocal is warm, smooth & crisp clear. And as for the bass it's a nice bass, not those too overloud...

The problem is choosing the correct edifier speakers now..
I miss the pc fair, so no point talking about that now.. So i wish to ask, where is a good place to buy edifier's speaker in Klang Valley..

As for my budget, ultimately i hope to get something below rm300, but if paying alittle more for a more value for buy speakers set, i can consider that.
The edifier set that has caught my attention is M3500 5.1. Is this good enough?

So seniors & pro here, pls advice..

Oh, is it? Need to check with system compatibility?
Sorry didn't know about that as i'm noob in computer speakers..
I'm not sure is my notebook can support 5.1, how can i check?

I'm actually want to get a decent speakers sets to connect to my notebook, the the mini speakers from my notebook sounds too soft / no shock.
*
QUOTE(negisf @ Apr 19 2010, 02:49 PM)
1) I don't want USB speakers, cause the sound quality is quite basic n poor.
Although i'm noob in sound & speakers, but just hope to get more SQ from the speakers.

Another speaker that caught my attention is the C3
*
if you're running vista / 7, go to control panel and then sound options. left bottom click configure on your current sound device and if it supports 5.1 the 5.1 option will be displayed there.

USB speakers aren't that bad. Z Cinema and Companion 5 are not those ordinary USB speakers.

for RM400, do consider the Edifier R501 as well.

cool.i didnt realise that as long have 3 jacks then laptop also can use 5.1. if i were gonna get a ps3 then using my hsc5640 and pc lcd..what do i need to get?cause ps3 dont use the 3.5jack rite?
*
not really. very few laptops support analog 5.1 and some support digital 5.1
for desktop, majority would support both analog and digital 5.1

hmmm M1335 vs E3100

on paper M1335 seems better but E3100 more exp... what do u guys think?
*
don't believe the paper. believe the real thing. it seems like M1335 is an enhanced version of M1310. with the same price too.
If you were to compare M1310 vs E3100, E3100 straight slaps M1310. that's because i bought both as my friend bday present, and i set them up.

both use same 5" inch subwoofer in bandpass configuration, but it seems like the E3100 is tuned / engineered properly. for satellites M1335 with single 3" fullrange driver and E3100 with 3" midrange + 3/4" tweeter. specification is not an accurate measurement when it comes to speakers.

rather than upgrade to S530 and get a decent soundcard, i would rather get a better speaker and get the soundcard at later time.

z cinema is not bad. but for the normal retail price i don't think it's worth getting. check out the altec 6021, creative T3, aego M and other things. if you prefer 2.0 you may want to listen to Edifier S2000/V and AudioEngine A5.

i haven't audit it. cause it never appear in common shops / IT show. but for the S2000V (value) it sound damn good. very rich midrange. looks beautiful too. i think few years ago i checked with Mr Edifier and the price of S2000 & V is cheaper than here.

nope. never listen to high end stuff.. lol cause seldom go to adelphi.

yes the S2000 is discontinued, however i saw them on the photo on the last PC fair. Mr Edifier can order one if you want though, not sure about normal pricing... someone could get it for rm1000 on PC fair iirc.

edit: Mr Edifier said no more RM999, its 1299 now. sad.gif

I really like the design,is it really good for movies.Bear in mind, the viewing distance of like 6-8 feet away.

Does it have enough power to drive all the sound, without loss of details?Yes, i certainly love those huge SW like the Z5500

Quoting myself. This is my experience with my C3..
*
yep, the design is nice. especially when the internal LED lit in the mid of its glossy satellites. looks classy.

you can read my short review here. certainly not bad for the price i paid. however for retail price i don't think it's worth getting imo. im currently place my z cinema in my living room. still sound good across the room, about 6-8m. but the volume may not be loud enough. it's digitally limited. fine with me though, i don't blast. remote is well built and very nice.

hcs2330 isnt much upgrade from R401. i heard R401 once and it's quite good. better than E3100 at the same price. almost bought it but bought other that day instead. suggest you top up and get better one since you've been using R401 for some time.
