ur pc suite is the latest one or the older ones?..i tink the older ones willl have problem with the firmware update...i got the new one and older one on 2 separate computer... older version got some problem..the new one work like charm.

my pc suite i just upgraded to 7.1.51.0. however, when i try to search for latest software updates, it says that i have to do this via the ovi suite. i just installed the latest ovi suite and i'm now trying to install the new firmware. however, it's been stuck at the back up phase for a really long time. i've tried restarting a few times and it doesn't seem to work. i'm currently trying to do a backup with the pc suite and then install the latest firmware via ovi suite...

actually,when u backup, just pull out your memory card. No need backup for memory card. then will save more time

i've successfully managed to update my firmware (finally!), but all my installed applications and games are missing? when i check my application manager, it shows that all of it are installed, but i can't access it...

the other issue that i'm having is that, i previously managed to set my e63 to always ask for the type of connection before doing anything (whether it's email or browser) because i didn't want phone to connect via 3G and cost me a bomb, but i can't remember how i did last time and now, after the firmware update, it's gone back to 3G by default... anyone can help?

1. before update the firmware, u need to backup all ur data 1st. now what u can do is reinstall the applications.
2. set the connection to "always ask"
web > option > settings > general > access point > always ask

Nokia E63 just got a firmware update a couple days ago, to v501.21.001. It’s previous firmware was v500.21.009.

If you havent gotten the update yet, you’ll just have to wait till the update is rolled out across your part of the world for your device region code. Remember, if your device is product branded, you might have to wait even longer for the update. Apparently only some EURO devices have gotten the update so far.

The E63 does not have UDP (User Data Preservation), so remember to backup all your data before the firmware update, since it will erase all your data.
