QUOTE(silver01 @ Aug 18 2010, 11:04 AM) Folks, Interested in e63. Can you guys tell me the difference between AP & Ori in terms of Firmware and etc. Any restrictions if i were to get an AP set? Any benefits in getting the original? Also, where's the best deal in town at the moment. Thanks. AP and ORI has no different at all, except warranty term. Ori can claim warranty at all Nokia Care Center, AP only can claim from AP company u buy from. The restriction to get AP, is only warranty term. Some AP company might dunwan take responsibility when ur phone got problem. they will give u those lame excuse, like ur phone drop, fall in water, damage by urself, and so on... If the price range between AP and ori is not much, then go for ori.

QUOTE(silver01 @ Aug 18 2010, 02:56 PM) Thanks for the prompt reply, and the best place to get the device is ???? It depend. I dunno your location as well. LYN garage sales got few seller. i saw them trade at there quite a long time, so i think is quite safe to buy from them. And their price quite reasonable too. Try to do research on the price at garage sales, then can compare between online purchase with outside outlet, which near to your location. QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Aug 18 2010, 03:11 PM) Nice way to summary and reply it. Thanks This post has been edited by ping0613: Aug 18 2010, 03:06 PM

QUOTE(fastreader @ Aug 25 2010, 01:01 PM) what's an external bluetooth gps?..dun mind to lead me to any sales thread selling this. is an external devices, act as GPS router, help you to access to GPS via your phone bluetooth. for my point odf view, not worth to buy this. If you having this E63, and want to own a GPS services, better go buy a GPS devices rather than this external bluetooth gps.

QUOTE(xiandagreat @ Aug 25 2010, 05:03 PM) Welcome. Yes, it is free. Nokia E63 is a GPS capable phone. Just that Nokia didnt include the GPS chip in it and so Nokia E63 GPS function is there but it is left out. You can go to maps.nokia.com to download the Ovi maps on nokia e63. But, sadly, in order to download it, you need to select your phone model which nokia e63 IS NOT LISTED THERE!!! How sad it is. But, you can still install ovi maps into nokia e63 by selecting Nokia E66 . . Simply download the installer and install it in your phone. That should work. About the maps, you need to download the ovi suite and from there, you can browse the maps you want. All in all, Nokia E63 + Bluetooth GPS Receiver = Free? U meant ovi map free? I am doubt about it. Bcos e63 not listed in nokia free navigation program. That means, e63 not able to support ovi map 3.03. E63 only able to support ovi map 3.0, which is not free version, need to pay when navigate. Unless u are using others GPS application, such as garmin(ahemm version), then we can say it is free.

No need backup for memory card. then will save more time

QUOTE(lostasylum @ Nov 6 2010, 11:05 AM) i've successfully managed to update my firmware (finally!), but all my installed applications and games are missing? when i check my application manager, it shows that all of it are installed, but i can't access it... the other issue that i'm having is that, i previously managed to set my e63 to always ask for the type of connection before doing anything (whether it's email or browser) because i didn't want phone to connect via 3G and cost me a bomb, but i can't remember how i did last time and now, after the firmware update, it's gone back to 3G by default... anyone can help? 1. before update the firmware, u need to backup all ur data 1st. now what u can do is reinstall the applications. 2. set the connection to "always ask" web > option > settings > general > access point > always ask
