Ya, enjoying the PB12NSD. I was looking for another brand for quite sometime till I came across the SVS launch and grabbed the promo! Did spend RM500 more than my budget but I think worth it.
Shaking my plaster board ceiling and sliding glass door. Now more thing$$$ to fix!
Warning - this is the first consequence of buying SVS or any low bass that you want to feel, not only hear! It probably will not happen to normal 3 or 4 brick wall rooms with cement ceiling, but my hall got plaster ceiling board, front and back brick walls and left glass sliding door to the apartment balcony and right open space to the kitchen.
Just to share my experience, but my ears could be wrong.
A second problem was the sub did not sound "good" when it was placed at the position I wanted (which was suitable for PB not PC), near the kitchen side with sub facing into the room. So did some sub crawling and found the best position opposite the original, near the glass sliding door with sub facing towards kitchen area. Just to confirm, I asked my son to tell which which bass was more room shaking, and he confirmed my discovery. To move the PB12NSD, I put a board under to push it. Took the board out when listening.
The best position for the sub is 45 degrees at the corner facing my seat; not 90 degrees to corner. I ran audyssey (Denon 1709) at the 3 different sub positions - at 90, the SW was -2.0, at 45, SW was -4.0. At original place (-4.0). Sub gain at 12'o clock. All this was done listening to double bass from Rod Stewart American song book CD and One Night at Albert Hall DVD. Double bass goes to 40Hz and when I got it right, the plucking sound and feel is just right, the the music just blended. In HT I used Mission Impossible 3, The Core and Incredibles. In HT, when it was "wrong" there no room shaking (-4.0 at original place), but when it was right (-4.0 at 45 degrees), can feel the vibrations. I think when it was "right" the FR is flatter, and not so much peaks and valleys. The audyssey was done 3am, and listening test in the daytime. Am writing this after 4 day & night testing.
At the 45 degree, you can imagine it sticking into the room. Now, I wish I got the PC12NSD instead. Max, you got 30 day exchange or not?

Anyway, I am now waiting for Max to let me test the ASEQ1 with the PB12NSD at the original position to see the room correction. MWTS PB12NSD and get PC12NSD after that. Or maybe save for ASEQ1. Kena poison liao

.
Cheers to all bass lover @ LYN.
i have said it many times that if looks n size is not an issue then 12nsd is always a smarter choices than velo cht12.. but that time i was the only few who was using 12nsd so its quite hard to convince any1 in malaysia .. but now got local svs agent its good that we can see svs getting mentioned so often.. yes its more expensive than velo 12 cht.. but its worth it for sure!
