it is quite often for new movies to have sub 20hz signal...
ppl like svs coz it can go low hz in high spl thus filling the av room n creating that steam feeling
overseas ppl like it even more coz for the cheap price it really does make movie watching more fun.. but over here coz our tax is so high, the price doesnt look like a budget sub anymore

lets not start this again ok.. i am one of those guys who compares and complain abt the price in malaysia.. but lets be fair ok.. DO u know the price for 12nsd, plus and 13 ultra door to door using bax global to kl .. if u dont then go and get a quote.. get your facts n stop misleading other ppl.. on 2nd thought i rest my case

i can say that htkaki's door to door price is ok.. i am comparing his price with factory direct bax global door to door price... lets not compare his price with brunei, sg or smuggled price.. and pls dont compare with door to airport price too coz we r not required to pick up our sub from the airport if we buy from him:)... U can complain abt the tax, freight cost n the weak RM though but lets not try to give an impression that the local svs agent is charging 40% MORE THAN HE SHOULD

how abt u tell me how much does it cost to bring a pc13ultra in using sea freight with insurance to your kampung .. oh no i 4got u r just predicting the cost .. u have not have a clue how much does it cost and havent checked anything abt seafreight.... pls do your homework n stop your kopitiam style talk.. i am comparing door to door coz the price htkaki is selling is door to door.. he is definately not selling door to brunei or door to sg.. bythe way i am no fool coz i bought my 13 ultra tax free.. but i am not so stupid to use my tax free price to compare with htkaki's price.. and i am not interested in announcing the price i bought in the forum everyday and think that i am the smartest guy on earth coz it is NO BIG DEAL..

i dont see your the numbers of your cheap sea freight yet.. get proper quotation n numbers 1st .. very hard to communicate with u when u r Bhaskaring

i did explain it already u refused to listen.. sea freight is only cheaper when u get the whole container.. loose cargo is expensive.. if u dont believe then just go and get a quote.. or get a few quotes.. stop being a kopitiam uncle and keep thinking seafreight is cheap.. there r port charges.. trucking fee .. hidden costs until u get the full quote.. i think if u provide us the cheap sea freight quote that u have been talking abt then all of us would will be behind u to fight for cheaper svs in malaysia.. lets say u get 20 units of 13 ultra u will surely save quite some money.. NOT FROM SHIPPING but from avoiding tax.. htkaki stated clearly right from the begining he doesnt want any illegal stuff involve.. There are other brands that are sold at simlar price with svs in overseas n when it reaches malaysia it became alot cheaper than svs.. WHY?.. very simple..IF U R SMART ENUF some ppl bring their stuff in in volume, they bring the whole container in and some ppl prefer to underdeclare their goods.. there r many ways to keep the cost down..

i feel very sorry for ppl lik u thats y i am trying my best to explain to u now that svs has nothing to do with Fedex giving u expensive quotes.. get the shipping dimension n weight of the speakers n call up Fedex, tell them u wanna send from Ohio to your kampung n c see it the quote they give u is more what svs quote u Then u can start accusing svs for giving expensive quotes

bro just to let u know svs door to door price now is still similar to the price last time.. its just that last time u have the choice to send door to airport.. depends on where u stay in malaysia.. some places u save some money for door to airport... but u have to go thru all the trouble.. n need to drive your sub on your own.. maybe take 1 day leave for that.. if u r lucky u might have the chance to pay less tax by paying some coffee money but u wont save too much on tax coz the buayas all quite hungry at the airport.. i have bought two svs using door to airport and i can tell u honestly the door to door price is similar to the door to door price last time.. it will only have a big diff in price IF

1) u have some1 working at the airport who can help u
2) special cases where svs gave u a wrong quote and offer u a special discount for delaying your purchase
3) u have some way to bring your sub in illegaly


and yes jl is a very good sub and if u can afford it why not.. but if size is not an issue and u dont listen much to music then svs is a better choice.. svs has a 3 year warranty but i am not sure how many years jl offers in malaysia.. try not too look at the amplifier spec too much.. i did not go to the svs event but my guess is if u place the same number of jl sub at the launch venue it will be worse in terms of spl.. but according to all the review it should give u more accurate bass... so yeah it depends on what u r looking for... happy sub hunting

good to hear there will be a demo room soon.. most svs buyers dont realise the biggest disadvantage we are facing compared to the states is we dont get the 1month money back gurantee.. if no demo room and money back gurantee then paying so much money will be a big risk... with a demo room at least u know roughly how it is going to perform in your home
