1. no dont keep light on 24 hours a day because they need the sense of night and day to sleep right to be healthy.
for my ST i on lights before i out for work, turn off around 10pm after they finish their meal..

Also you should let them have space to move around a lot to keep their lungs active. That will help with the sickness. so if you cannot have large cages, you should let them out of their cages daily to keep them active.

The key...HIGH fiber LOW protien
other than grass(hard to find, scare got sprayed racun rumput), carrots are good for vitamin A,

i feed Kacang Buncit always..

NEVER FEED
broccoli
grapes
dairy products

Try to reduce the french bean intake, increase mustard green intake as it is cheap and high fiber content smile.gif

No not normal but need more information to answer !! Where you place the animals/setup is also important - If the whole setup is place in aircond room then they will prefer to stay in water even thou the water temp. is colder !!!!

BASKING is where they get out of water to warm (natural sunlight or artificial lighting) themself on the dry area !! Did you place the whole setting where sun could shine or heat lamps shone on the basking are area ??

If kept in wrong enviroment ie too humid - the active lung (of dry species) also cannot take it !!! Especially the ST - prolong humid place is deadly to them !!

You need to determine what causes and or more information about how the tortoise is being kept ?? before recommendation can be advised !!

As some can be deadly if left un-treated while others not !! I have seen/heard of IS having RNS all his life with his owner !!

Good luck

Bro...thx for your advice.

My tort kept internally, at room temperature. Has basking lamp and UVB light. Basking lamp only switch on 6hrs/day, UVB 24hrs. Its only 3.5inch in size. I have no idea out of a sudden there is air bubble from its nose. The bedding is wood chip. Eat well thou.

I was told to try use bronchipur W, its a syrum type, SERA brand. Anyone agree?

I already google for information about turtle healthcare and how to treat it. So I think I'm ready to adopt one. BTW, this thread is very helpful. rclxms.gif

So any recommendation for petshop?

Yeah I've come to realize that.

Sigh, wanted to start with a local species upfront but seems like the availability isn't on my side. Other species like the Impressed and Emys require higher level of expertise. =|
