QUOTE(liette` @ Jan 7 2010, 03:29 PM) 1) If i were to get a star tortoise, how many hours of sun light do u reckon it should get per day without the aid of artificial lighting? 1. no dont keep light on 24 hours a day because they need the sense of night and day to sleep right to be healthy. i've read caresheets here and there but they don't seem to provide me with the exact answer i'm lookin for. =| 2) I've also read that grass and weeds are the best food source of STs but many are feeding them market vegetables which are supposedly not as good as grass. so my question is, what exactly should i be feeding my ST if i were to get one? for my ST i on lights before i out for work, turn off around 10pm after they finish their meal.. Also you should let them have space to move around a lot to keep their lungs active. That will help with the sickness. so if you cannot have large cages, you should let them out of their cages daily to keep them active. The key...HIGH fiber LOW protien other than grass(hard to find, scare got sprayed racun rumput), carrots are good for vitamin A, i feed Kacang Buncit always.. NEVER FEED broccoli grapes dairy products |

QUOTE(liette` @ Jan 7 2010, 04:32 PM) hey i think u misunderstood me, wat i meant is IF i don't have artificial lighting, how long must i let them bask under natural sunlight per day? Natural sunlight.. just make it when u are free and accompany them.. my friend let their ST sunbath until dead dehydrate.. just because forget to keep then out for work... back home night.. it too Latemy friend suck! |
