recently, fren of mine gav me his, since he knw im having one..
this st kinda young, i notice when he is sleeping, i wake him up, his eye looks waterly... its not cloudy or anything, jus waterly and clear.. jus like human after having yaw.. is tht normal? is it disease?
unlike the old im having, i woke him up, his eye look clear, but not waterly..

another question, any vets around klang valley? will i get caught if i bring st for some treatment since its illegal now?

rheum is completely normal. eyes do produce mucus, so as long as it is not excessive, there is nothing to worry about.
why are you asking for trouble?

thanks, hmm i think the rheum is quite excessive.. which keep me worry bout him.. its been happen for few day as it never happen during the past month.. before he woke up, his eye like having liquid, doesnt sound like rheum.. once open, rheum came out..
let me check him out tmr morning.. see whether he ok or not..
hope like u said, its normal.. blush.gif

what's your definition of capsicum, anyway? bell pepper, chilli or a whole genus full of stomach-upsetting, stomach cancer-causing plant materials?

try eye drops, and see if the condition improves.

pic show him closing his eye, quite big, once open his eye, excessive rheum release, then he keep wiping his eye.

why don't you change the substrate ASAP. neither corn cob or pine shavings are suitable for ST.

newspaper would do.

i include a link here for your convenient reading. please do more research on ST husbandry.

The smaller one a bit of worry if left outdoor for extended period !! And the rain and thus cool might be pretty bad for them both !!

I rather you keep them indoor in a tank and put some hay for them to nibble on while you away (4/5 days rite ) forget about the water as just mess things up - let them bath / drink just before you leave !!

I would say about 50 % more than a common same size , same place !!

ow... got it...

Turtle will be a better choice but if only tortoise considered try the tropical species like Asian brown or black , elongata , red or yellow footed even Burmese star are good . Radiated n yniphora are good too if price is not an issue here !!!
*
hmm, yellow/red footed, elongata and asian black is more easier to take care compare to istar?
is this mean thy can sustain high humid temperature in our country ?
