guys,can share how u feed ur tortoise hay?means like timothy hay..do u soak it in water first,or just give it straight away?

ok..good to hear that..i ask because i have one tortoise which really greed,she duwan the others eat the food..when i put the vege in their enclosure,she go and lay on the food..and worst when she pee on the food,maybe she said to her frens
"haa,u see,dirty already..cannot eat,cannot eat..now u all stay away from me,i wan to eat the vege mix my own pee" LOL..
maybe put it scattered can avoid her doing something like that..thanks bro..

Hi guys i got two red sliders and i was wondering about the dettol treatment will it harm the turtle?

The front page got info on treating infection with dettol one...

This is what you can do if there's fungus infection on the carapace and if there's some rotting going on on the carapace.

Firstly u need to dry dock them for at least half the day. Then u can use Dettol/Iodine (Bethadine) to clean the infected area. Let the Dettol/Iodine(Bethadine) dry and then put some diluted Hydrogen Peroxide inside a basin and put the turtle inside it for 30 minutes. Then take it out and rinse it with a clean water. Continue to drydock the turtle for 1/2 day. Continue doing this everyday fot the week and see how it goes. The infected place should heal slowly depending on the severeness of the problem. Sea Cucumber Oil (Minyak Gamat) can also be used at the infected place. Let them dry and continue dry docking them. Don't put them inside the water back since the oil would mixed with the water and can endanger the turtles itself.

hi all...just posting my new TTT..all i buy from ikano pet safari..the newest one is western painted turtles..emm just wanna ask one question..is it normal for alligator snaping turtle to fast for about 1 week?bcause my ally did not eat about 1 week alredi...i have tried to give hive variety type of food,but still didnot want to eat...huhuhuhu    

Guys my res has an ear abscess how to treat it myself? Or is it really need to see a vet? How much would that cause? I have googled around and most of the sites are from the states all their answers are to see a vet which is not really helpful. I would prefer to treat it myself since seeing a vet cost a bomb consultation fee cost 35 per visit for my dog i dono bout turtles

im new here..i just wanna ask if any one u guys knows on how to determine RES's gender. some one told me that it could tell by looking at it's shell, a darker green is female while a light green is male.is it true??

Uzairi, Samperth and Camillenoir...how u guys doing? Still turtle fever huh I wish i have more time for this passion....unfortunately life had been hard on me since last year and sad to say i lost a few of my turtles last year...painful of course.

Anyway saw some Diamond Back Terrapin and Matamata lately....they are such a beauty...not forgetting those Beals 4 Eyes...truely masterpiece of nature. Hope you guys who have the time manage to add them to your collection. Cheers all.

i saw 3 small star about 2 inches and 1 about 3+ inches.

claimed by pet shop is burmese star.

but how am i going to know it is not indian star?

btw im from JB... anyone can tell me where to find radiated bcos that is the one i'm looking at.

Wondering whether Indian Star Tortoise shed its skin from time to time?
since its a dry type tortoise, does the owner need to "bath" the tortoise?
e.g. clean the shell, and under the shell? i saw pet stores selling the "shell polish".
recommend to be used?

the aunty dont let me snapshot photo. the condition of that 4 little buggers a bit off due to the small enclosure.

she quoted rm200 for the 3 small buggers around 2inches.

RM400 for the bigger bugger about 3+ inches.
i hope tort lover can let me know where in JB can get real burmese star or radiated.

If 4 ft you can safely put them togather for say 2 years but do add some log or larger stone to act as visual barriers !!

BTW you 100 % sure yours is Alligator snapper as common snapper are less compatible if more than 1 kept !!
