Oic....if compare sager with alienware..which one btr?
*
once i read from somewhere, they have GTX280 in 15.6", and they claimed its the best 15.6" gaming laptop.

i kinda agree with them. but the negative side is still their physical apperance.

about the heat management, you can forget it and let the engineers do their work. i believe AW and Sager successes to create the coolest gaming laptop ever. biggrin.gif

if US got tax on PC stuff then when ship out from US they will tax you, when arrive in MY they wont tax, i might be wrong.
laugh.gif
*
its just typo. 1920x1200.
hm you might want to turn off your AAx0 if you want to play Crysis on the native resolution with that setting.
gaming using native resolution can do AA work by itself.
AA is more significant if you reduce the resolution from your default screen size.

Ya, it a typo. 1920x1200. Even with AA off, Crysis still won't be playable on that resolution and on that setting(high).
*
Crysis is highly bad optimized game. so no wonder why it is so difficult to maxed out everything eventhough the specs is good.
you can try Crysis Warhead, just to ensure what i said. Cyrsis Warhead's engine is better than the last one.

just my personal review - RE5 is one of the most optimized game i ever played.

p/s : sorry for being off the topic. just want to add extra info for the questioner only. smile.gif

Maybe they might release it. Its good to see the M15x with a two fan design. However, it has a mix of aluminium and copper heatsink. This might not be good for a GTX 280m long term. Physically its possible to put in a GTX 280m card, but you might want to run tests on it for a few hours to check for overheating.
*
the Aluminium casing itself can act as heatsink.
oh and by the way Mucro.Asia, what is the material used for Sager's casing? just curious. and about their thickness too. how thick is it?

don't worry. this is not bashing-post type. i really just interested to know, my friend smile.gif

Best in terms of CPU spec is the NP9280
Best in terms of GPU spec is the NP9850

Pricing for NP9850 starts around 8.5k Ringgits
Just play with this page and change to Ringgits
http://www.mucro.asia/index.php/Mucro-Sage...ge-ask.tpl.html

If you have a m17x, theres not much point to look at the NP9850. Only advantage over the m17x is the superior cooling, 3x HDD RAID and the speaker system.

NP9280 is more catered to those who want desktop processing power for their work.
*
i see. thank you so much.
we never know what might happen in future right. just want to add some knowledge about this brand.

oh and plus, i never had any heating problem with my M17x before. even after heavy gaming (4 and half hours of RE5 and 2 hours for GTA4). smile.gif

I've made a comparison Sager NP8690 with M15x

Screen and Screen Type: FHD
Graphics Card: GTX 280m (Sager) & GTX260 (AW)
SYSTEM CPU: I7-720QM Mobile Processor (1.6GHz)
SYSTEM MEMORY|*2 DIMMs: 4GB Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3
HARD DISK DRIVE UPGRADE: 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Wireless: Intel® WiFi Link 5300
OS: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium

AW M15x = RM 6703
Sager NP8690 = RM 7434

sad.gif  That's RM700 for a gc difference.

Added on October 31, 2009, 11:31 pm I've also made a comparison Sager NP9850 with M17x

Screen and Screen Type: 18" (Sager) & 17" (AW)
Graphics Card: GTX 280m SLI
SYSTEM CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 3MB Cache)
SYSTEM MEMORY|*2 DIMMs: 4GB Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3
HARD DISK DRIVE UPGRADE: 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Wireless: Intel® WiFi Link 5300
OS: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium

AW M17x = RM 9875
Sager NP8690 = RM 9168

That's RM700 for a screen size difference.
*
Suddenly Sager that well known as cheaper than AW looks more expensive when comparison is made?

or zairee2580 and i missing something here?

and if you stress that the different in price is due to best cooling, i don't believe it. better get AW afterall. those M15x and M17x have sufficient cooling system already.
for screen size, 17" is already big. 18" is way too big. difficult to find a beg that suit 18". plus the bigger the size, the more power form GC that you will required.
